      I get that you disagree with your friend but you need to ask yourself where you have gotten yourself that you can’t have a friend with whom you disagree. I’m a total lefty but most of my friends are total conservatives. You need to ask yourself if you’re part of the big problem facing the world today, the inability to tolerate another person’s point of view. This is no way a criticism of you personally, just a heads up about how you’re thinking and reacting. 27 years of friendship is a big thing to give up. Good luck going forward.

    • @Tugela60
      @Tugela60 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Sounds like you father is the one with the arrogance problem. Who does he prefer medical advice from? Astrologers and mystics? The garbage collector? You get medical advice from people who work in the medical field, since they are literally the experts on such things. Let me ask a question, if you wanted insurance advice, would you ask your father or someone like him? Or would you ask your hairdresser?
      I know lots of doctors, and myself worked in the pharmaceutical field. People who work in the medical/pharmaceutical fields are experts in those matters, they have been doing it all of their working life. Lay people and insurance managers most definitely are not. That is not to say any particular one is going to be right about everything, but they are far more likely to be right than your father because they simply know far more about their field than he does.

    How many are directly or indirectly negatively impacted by alcohol? In my nick of the wood it used to be around 10% of the population. Those kinda statistics make alcohol the number 1 drug related societal problem. Next, one cannot ban everything one doesn't like. Any ban has strong negative consequenses (crimes & organized crime). Good show, but as a medical cannabis patient, and medical cannabis activist, for the last 50 plus years, I have a lot of experience with the government and medical cannabis. I'm very aware of the massive amount of power the pharmaceutical companies, and their huge political pocket-books, have on governments officials around the world. But it's not just the elected officials, it's the doctors that are heavily controlled by Big Pharma and their pawns at the FDA.
    Pharma's plan is always the same, and has been since 1937. They will make sure that you will NOT be able to get cannabinoid medication without a doctors recommendation. And they will make sure that 99% of the doctors in Thailand will NOT write recommendations for patients here in Thailand. And if you don't think doctors can be bullied by them, just look at the last four years when the doctors here supported the lockdowns, the forced "vaccination" of school children, and the mass "vaccinations" of the entire country with dangerous products that were never subjected to clinical trials. These untested drugs forced on the population have subsequently been proven to have killed and disabled millions of healthy people around the world.
    So how will the millions of medical cannabis patients ever get the medications they need if cannabis is returned to Thailand's list of dangerous narcotics. We saw this happen in the US for decades, with the government throwing doctors into Federal prisons, just to send the strongest message possible to any doctor that might be tempted to help their patients with natural cannabis medicines....that have never killed anyone?

  • @jimhaas9983
    @jimhaas9983 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Why don't changes to laws due to emergency decree end after such emergency ends? The decree has an expiration date and you revert to the old rule.
    Emergency rules by definition should NOT be permanent. Maybe all laws that change rules should be labeled as temporary or permanent. Only then you need a new law to undo what you previously wanted. No more back and forth on rules by politics.
    The problem with American democracy is laws that flip flop based on what party runs the government.

    You know it's funny the health and fitness community in America is really diverting away from the use of alcohol I mean not even wine. As far as weed goes habitual smoking of it is definitely not good for your lungs. Not sure if anyone's done any studies on say muscle tissue or relative body physicality down to the point of say mitochondria. But I agree it's probably pressure by the players that are making the old money complaining about losing out. Granted Thailand is a place primarily as far as Foreigners are concerned..... to party.... but alcohol sales may be touched by the fitness effect. But it's good to hear you bring it up even though I probably only agree with 2/3 of what you say. About 5 years ago my psychiatrist told me that over 90 percent of the people sectioned (that means forced by law to be in hospital , in the U.K) are in from psychosis induced by smoking weed . She told me that 6o percent would recover if they stop smoking but the other 40 percent would never fully recover. I’m not against legalizing. This law should have been brought in properly ( not by some emergency law ) with proper discussion and debate. The legislation is becoming a victim of how it was brought in.

      People who suffer reach out to substance abuse. Cannabis is like a magnification tool. Will increase negative thoughts as much as positive. A lot of people also have alcohol abuse and other substance misuse. It's not a good argument for criminalization.

    Okay a lot to unpack on this video. Firstly "Medical Experts"; I remember in the 50's and 60's these same medical experts were doing television commercials for the tabacco companies. Secondly Covid; I do know this, that covid vaccines did not prevent you from getting covid, but it did prevent more at risk people (ie the elderly) from dying of covid. The number of people in emergency wards on ventolators increased significantly, to the point of a potential shortage. So I believe the governments decided in order to avoid a stressed health care system, they scared the crap out of the publice in order to increase the number of vaccinations and therefore reducing the stress on the health care systems. Thirdly "psychiatric treatment"; abuse of any substance will have an adverse health effect on the body, whether it be overly consuming peanut butter, alcohol or cannabis. So with legalization of cannabis, no doubt there are consumers who over indulge which potenially could cause a negative mental health issue.

    Hey Ben I come to you for your legal views, I have been a physician for 30 years in this case I would suggest that you stay in your lane. I have no views on marijuana however your using the word "so called" when referencing the worst pandemic in over `100 years is pretty ignorant.

      Covid IFR was circa 0.5% across all ages, and closer to 0.02% for those under 60 with no comorbidities.
      Legal professionals like Ben are an important bulwark against panicked government overreach.
      Given your take on the pandemic, I suspect I'd trust Ben's both legal and medical advice over your own.
