As a Thai who experienced a lot of cannabis, it has its own grade. You won't find good grade on the market because it is gone very quickly. Most of the growers are not experienced enough so the weed is not so good. 95% of the shops are like that. If you go to tourist place like Nana or Khao San, it's only B grade Cali weed. You can only find good Thai weed in only a few shops here: Chopaka, Sukhumweed, Bobby's Exotics, Never Not High, and the best is Ganjana. These are hidden gem in over thousand shops in Bangkok. So I can understand when people say Thai weed is no better than Cali weed. It's not true, they just never had a chance to get the good ones.

I was in Thailand for 2 weeks and what a fantastic experience. The local people are friendly as well! I bought some at House of Chronic to smoke last time before I leave for the Philippines. I love Thailand and Im so surprised that the Local Thai people farmers are not now supplying the home market. Thailand has agricultural schools and collage so I'm shocked that the plants that the government have not made its way into the market. I assume most people killed the plants before they had finished .

Nope, you just haven't seen the place where Thai growers sell their weed cause of corrupted officials let the low quality import stuff flood in so many shops are selling B grade Cali weed. Thai grown weed is amazing. But it is true that many of them cannot read English so their knowledge is limited. Except for the elite. If you know, you will surely say it's better than Cali or Canadian weed (quoted from Canadians cannabis entrepreneur and a grower himself)
@@icyblue1000 yes, that is right, but not the full story... I've seen plenty of farms in Thailand with a worrying quality, even a spider mite invested farms, and they still sell that stuff.
You're still right though, I've seen great Thai farms too, but most of them I wouldn't compare to Canadian, EU or South African high quality cannabis yet.
That's just my experience, most farms I haven't visited of course.
I have to say that most Thai farms don't produce harmful stuff, but it's still just low or medium quality... and I didn't move to Thailand to only produce cannabis, I also wanna help other farmers.

Your English is perfect so its safe to assume you are well educated and clearly know what you’re talking about. I am very interested in learning more about how things are going in Thailand one year on since it was made legal, you seem to be the perfect person to start talking to about this.
You remark that you are Thai but also said you moved to Thailand so can I assume you were born outside Thailand and moved back later?? Not that has anything to do with why I am asking.
The reason I am contacting you is that I am coming back to Thailand for the first time in over 10 years and a great deal has changed since then and as I am a keen grower of the green I super interested in how things are growing in Thailand.
You are right about the cali and Canadian b grade that’s been flooding the market that was clear to me from almost day one of it being made legal as would be impossible for all these shops to open and being supplied by home growers so quickly so it is obviously most was being imported from outside Thailand be that grade a,b,c. that side of things Im not sure about as I don’t know much about the legal grows in USA or any other places so I cant comment.
I have been following many growers on youtube like cannacribs which is mind blowing to watch as the amount of money and investment these grow set ups cost is out of reach for most Thai growers.
Anyway to cut to the chase the reason I am writing this message is in the hope that I can speak to you more and if possible once a land in Bangkok next month I could meet with you and if you would let me interview you for my youtube vlog??
If your not comfortable talking on camera maybe just a face to face meeting so that I can learn more about the industry from someone that knows about the cannabis market place. I look forward to hearing back from you.
As a Thai who just got into growing after its been legalized, weed is amazingly hard to grow compared to other usual crops grown here in Thailand. Its going to take a while for growing industry to boom here, maybe in the next few years.

I remember the thai sticks that arrived in UK in bundles of 20 with a stick of bamboo in the middle. Now that was one of the top smokes along with Durban Poison and they were better than any hydraponic as they were natural and as strong if not stronger than what is about today and I have grown grass for over 50 years,so I have seen and tasted what I have said apart from living in Africa for over 8 years. Seems like cost of marijuana in Thailand is relatively high and comparable to the US. This is good because it means they'll make tons of money off of tourists but most locals won't bother with it.
Bangkok and Pattaya prices are high. go to somewhere like Koh Chang and you will find it a lot cheaper..as for those who are making money from it,they had money before not many working class people are earning from it.
All about supply and demand. When cali first legalize price went up crazy. Everyone started growing. Now the market is flooded with supply and i can get an Oz of good stuff in the dispensary for only $120. Same will happen in Thailand

I remember when I was there in 95 I used to stash my ash under the Germans hut 😂...In the day we had a little boat and we would take our stash and smoke on the boat so we didn’t get busted..It was all Thai stick 50baht an ounce then..We never got caught but there were plenty who had and were stuck out there awaiting a sham trial
I sell it dobble as cheap in norway😆 i was in Thailand and me that smokes 2gram a day it got to exspencive for me.. so i went to cambodia and there it cost less the 100bath per gram.

I am a heavy smoker. Been to Cambodia loads of times. Always smoked and always found decent stuff (for south east Asia). I was there last October to December. Police have cracked down on weed. What you could buy for 10-15 usd back in the day is now 20-25-30 usd a bag.
I paid about 3-4dollar per gram. But they asked for much more but I just walked to the next dealer until i got the price right😁 police don't care.. not in siem reap atleast

They do but they are complete rubbish when there are so many other choices and they are not like the sticks that were about until the government changed the law to death penalty so have to cross into Laos, Cambodia and ( sorry as answering whilst nicely stoned and can't think of the other one)do the best they can in a short time so ends up being crap here in UK After all the growing ect ,got to be dried and packed and sent before going back into Thailand. the shops are nice but far too expensive, so there is still a large black market. They sell home grow grass as "super specialty golden triangle" marijuana and the befuddled tourists buy it

That's how it was in the U.S. when it was first legal, very expensive at first.. Then it slowly went down in price. Now you can buy an ounce for 40 Dollars.. give it a year and Thailand will have so much weed they will be giving it away for free
