Because when I go up on the Ny crime data, I notice that they take two weeks sometimes to update them and when I count the amount of homicides coming from the Post , Daily News etc it isn't accurate. What I'm saying is they are shaving off murders statics every week. So it's way more murders going on the being reported.

That's not at all what has anything to do with this. It's poverty and lack of healthcare (specifically mental health) as has been proven for 50+ years. Country keeps getting more expensive but the vast majority of people are broke. There's not much to live for when you know putting in effort gets you nowhere, and so people are becoming unstable and violent. I think it's a bigger problem that despite crime (especially violent crime) correlating directly with poverty and cost of living, people still think it's some moral failing or that people are "weak".
But yeah, you know, you're the expert of course. Not the sociologists who dedicated their life to studying this. That touches on another big problem with this country, everyone thinks they're an expert and doesn't know what dunning kruger is. This is a country of confident idiots, which is why this shit never gets fixed or dealt with. I'm sure this reply wont be very popular, but the truth never is.

The police can take a case to the district attorney office and it's up to them to take those charges to court to an arraignment. I carry a gun on me (legally). Doesn’t make me bulletproof, but an armed citizen can stop things like this. Cops aren’t always right there, and criminals like this are getting slapped on the wrist and released. If cops aren’t there to do something and the criminals are being released soon after they get arrested, the crime will continue to rise. Harsher sentences need to be implemented. If that doesn’t happen, citizens need to be able to protect themselves. I’d rather put violent criminals into body bags than behind bars. Need to send a message that this isn’t going to fly if you try this on the wrong person

Until the gangs are destroyed in New York/ Chicago/Memphis and Houston this will continue. 85% of big-city murders are gang-related. Destroy the gangs, and the murders will stop. Everyone knows that, but they would rather blame everything else except the gangs.
