The Mali Boys: How London’s Most Feared Gang Run Drugs, Guns And Violence Across The Capital

  • In recent years, London has been plagued by a surge in gang violence and knife crime, leaving communities devastated and young lives tragically cut short. The rise of notorious gangs like the Mali Boys has brought attention to the issue, shedding light on the complex factors that contribute to this alarming trend. With over 1,500 knife crime incidents reported this year alone, it is clear that urgent action is needed to address the root causes and find solutions to tackle this epidemic.
The Rise of Gangs and Zombie Knives:
The Mali Boys, a gang operating in East London, has gained notoriety for its involvement in violent crimes such as murder and arson. They have been accused of exploiting young children and controlling the drug trade in the area. One weapon commonly associated with these gangs is the zombie knife, a deadly weapon that can be easily purchased online. The lack of regulation surrounding the sale of these weapons has raised concerns and led to calls for stricter measures.

I’m America if your crime is gang related it’s an enforcement meaning extra few years in prison, mask era few years in prison, gun extra few years in prison
I mis labeled as a gang member due to my family members and neighborhood. Never once was I jumped in.
When I went to prison for selling drugs I learned I had a gang card going back to the late 90s early 2000s. I was born in 1990 how could I be a 10 year old gang member lol. At 30 after doing 7 years in prison I still couldn’t get the gang card removed. I’m 33 I haven’t been in trouble since my last conviction over 13 years ago and I still have a gang card and always will. So not only am I housed with gang members when I’m arrested I’m also automatically a target by other gang members in prison and jails.
And to be in a room of 300 hardened gang members when I’ve never been a part of it and don’t know their laws or anything to the gang and can’t denounce it to gang members and say hey this is a mistake that’s asking for a death sentence by other inmates I just find it crazy that they do that to you here.
      Anyways be safe

      I think you misunderstood...
The point was, someone has taken a knife from the kitchen to protect themselves. The sole purpose was for protection, which yes as we know isn't right from the get go...
Now, that knife is on the person, it's there in their pocket, trousers, bag whatever.. Its in reach. Someone makes that person angry or bullies, or teases. Irrationally, the person reaches for the knife they had and uses it...
If that knife wasn't on the person for protection, it wasn't used when they were angry
Imagine your father throwing a slipper at you. If it wasn't cold he wasn't having a slipper on his foot to throw, he got angry and used what he had on his person. Obviously a reach of an example but that was the point

@@jjmmjj9999 it's down to the individual, not everyone would use a weapon in anger . I was in work gear and had a Stanley knife on me when someone attacked me , I didn't feel the need to use a weapon if I felt my life was in danger I may well have but i didn't.
To say someone shouldn't carry a weapon for defence because they will use it in anger is just not true I depends entirely on the individual and people know whether they would use a weapon in anger or not .

bus drivers behind an entire plastic screen, because some individuals can't be trusted
Of course, like most things, it's a generalisation. A child who doesn't understand consequences wouldn't have an issue using the stanley knife in your situation, but you've got self control and know right from wrong. These kids are stabbing left right and centre with no remorse for the families or the fact they've actually ended a life. Those who share their experiences don't know how much it helps when you're about to give up, it gives you the strength knowing somone who actully know what it's like to go through this tell you it's possible, it's not the same somone telling you you can do it when they have no idea what it's like, but hearing somone who knows what it's like that helps a lot since you understand it firsthand and made it out gives so much hope. so thanks for sharing.

I’m hoping and feel sure that the answer to all of these is no.
The main people selling drugs at street level and robbing people tend to suffer with some, sometimes all of the things I mentioned above.
Many of them don’t even have the money you think they do and if they do earn it, they don’t know how to spend is wisely and mainly still end up broke.

I am a female and at the time this happened I was 25 years old in London and a gang member told me not to come his ends.
And I said what exactly do you do for your ends ?
He looked at me confused 😵‍💫
Then I said do you protect the people of your ends and the children and all the families in those ends ??
He said No we only protect our gang .
So I said then you can’t call it your area or ends if you do nothing for that area and for the community that live there.
He was confused but let me walk through his ends
And then he says you got balls
And that was then end of our encounter.

Let's be honest, it's the parents and other adults that are responsible for kids being in gangs. If they are taught from an early age to not steal, to treat others with respect, get a job, be an entrepreneur, etc then I am sure they wouldn't be as many gangs out there. Then there is the people that consume the drugs. most if not all gangs operate on selling drugs. If we stopped people consuming drugs then there wouldn't be sellers.

Good on Colin and people like him for taking the initiative and trying to actually do something productive. One of my friends does something similar and risks his life trying to get dumb kids out of this lifestyle.
He's right that there needs to be harsher punishments for anyone carrying a weapon designed for killing. It's a good idea about sending them to the army. Not sure the troops would want someone with no discipline or respect amoung their ranks though.
Bringing back National service seems like it might help bring some discipline and respect to these young fools. And help find them a proper trade.
I grew up in similar conditions. Not as bad as it is now. But I think national service would have been a big help in steering me in the right direction.

That is an edge over others which should be utilised. Falling into trap is the individuals choice and decision. No one is false, and this should not be excused.
