Omg both of you are so beautiful!! I see where you and your sister got your looks from💖💖 I just started this video but if she doesn’t mention it in this one I’m gonna need your moms skincare routine pretty please 🙏🙏🙏
I read the book French Kids Eat Everything and applied the French way of eating to my child as much as possible from the time he started eating. He’s 4 now and loves steak, lamb, soups, green smoothies, black coffee, anchovies, and a ton of other things. Hates pasta and chicken nuggets and Mac n cheese ironically.
She's beautiful. I'm a 40-something widowed mom, with 5 children. Same in America...it's all decisions. You can cook healthy or unhealthy when cooking dinner. Kids will eat what is available & usual for them. Meal prep plays a huge part, especially with teens. If you make individual salads, which are ready in the fridge to easily grab, with a selection of prepared lean protein for them to choose to put with their salad, that is what they will grab on their own for lunch because it's easier, cheaper and more convenient than fast food options. Then as they grow up, that is the diet which they are used to and feel is normal.
There is an elegance I always find in French women of all ages that I often miss in the Anglo Saxon world. I think it’s the natural calm common-sense approach / an easy, uncomplicated approach to life that is so appealing that also translates to the approach with food My mum is the same / although of German extraction and not French
I loved the video! I took a lot of notes from French culture and was able to raise my American kiddo to eat just about anything. There are very few foods she doesn’t like and she will try anything. Thanks for putting information like this out there so that parents don’t have to raise their kids on chicken nuggets and pizza. ❤️ PS, y’all are both gorgeous.
I’m trying to eat more healthily but afraid I might be eating too much. For lunch I had a small piece of cold chicken, some tomatoes and cucumbers with oil and vinegar, small piece of bread, small bowl of berries, small piece of dark chocolate. I am sixty and could lose a little weight. I’m 5’1 130 pounds. Help!
I observed the same things years ago in France. At one time families in the US always ate together and we all ate the same things. We had the choice to either eat something or not eat it. How we have change in the US. I love your mom Lucie. This is one of my favorite channels.
Your mom is lovely! Great video. Eating as a family every night used to be an American tradition also. I am not sure how that all changed, but it definitely did. I think our "busy" culture is partly to blame. Americans claim to be too busy to shop, plan or cook, when really it's not difficult. I also notice so many parents seem to think fast food, junk food, etc is okay for kids, but not for adults. But parents who teach their kids to eat junk are doing them a great disservice. They will have bad habits that are hard to break.
You and your mother are both so sweet! It’s so funny how different our mindsets are on food, your/French way is honestly really inspirational and makes creating a meal seem more fun/exciting rather than a chore.
Your mom is spot on! I used her approach raising my own children and now that they are young adults, I am proud to see that they eat everything! They prepare (mostly) healthy meals now that they are on their own. Shopping, preparing and eating food can and should be pleasurable. Most Americans have an unhealthy relationship with food. They view it as reward or punishment or drudgery to prepare. Thanks for your always interesting content.
I love you two together!!! I was totally raised this way in the US. My Grandpa was Finish not sure if my Grandma was French because she literally did things the French Way. Your Mom is so Sweet and Beautiful. Lots of Love to you both.😊
From America: at the time I was brought up (late 90's early 2000), we had very vague and little nutritional education. Complicate that even more, most from mixed raced households had grandparents with a single income so, if they are blessed with two parents, they had more time to make traditional, time consuming meals. That's why there is a demand for your videos! We need this to educate us on how to cook in general and most importantly how to cook reasonable, healthy, and simple meals. For example, I would never had made ratatouille if not for seeing you make it in a previous video because all the recipes I've seen are much too intimidating. My family really liked it by the way so thank you for that!
Your mom is stunning. I'm in the U.S, and it is pretty hard as a mom making sure meals are balanced, simple, healthy, etc. My daughter is 3 and I'm trying to raise her with a good balance of foods and an overall healthy idea of food. When I was younger, my parents really didn't spend a lot of time on that subject and meals were pretty quickly made or convenience foods since both my parents were Military and busy. Y'all seem to have a good relationship with food 😊
Hey! Don't hate on Costco! They have lots of good organic products now :)) Great for stocking up on organic frozen fruit and veg. Thanks for another awesome video!! Beautiful family!!
Another thing to take into account and that could maybe explain why some Americans buy more in bulk than French is that kids in American do not have canteens at school but have to bring their own lunch at school! Also the price is not the same in the us and in France, I am a French living in Canada and I can say healthy products here are much more expensive than healthy products in France, esp. veggies, fruits… food which is not processed!
American here - all of our public schools offer lunch for purchase (free or subsidized for low income families). Private schools and preschools may not offer lunch and require kids to bring their own though. The food served in schools is usually very low quality though, highly processed, everything is frozen or canned and just heated at the school. Most kids do not like the food and will only eat it if that is their only option.
I loved this video. Can you share some of your favorite dinners your mom made growing up? Also, it’d be so cool if you vlogged a Sunday dinner with your family. I’d love to see the prep, food, and how it all plays out. 😊
I think that Farmer's Markets have gotten very popular in the United States - at least where I live, but lots of Americans put quantity over quality. I make most meals from scratch and love fresh fruits and vegetables. I do order special meats and fish online - much higher quality than from the store!
Wonderful video ladies. We in the US used to have family meals together where everyone ate the same thing. It wasn't until the 2000's that parents started feeding their kids fast-food (different from the parents). I know so many kids that refuse chicken if it's not in nugget form and refuse normal meals if not a burger, pizza or chicken nuggets. This is crazy to me. I am from the generation raised to clean our plates and not be wasteful. The US produces unhealthy food and unhealthy habits (the portions, the additives, etc) so we grow up thinking this is normal. Meanwhile we get sick, are overweight, have medical issues that relate to food, but doctors keep prescribing more medications. It's very frustrating.
I absolutely love your channel. My brother and sister-in-law are both dieticians (they specialises in diabetes) and the information and advice you share on healthy eating seems the most similar to anything they might share with me. I love the fact that you promote healthy eating in such an unfussy way - it really doesn't have to be complicated! Thanks so much for this - can I say how incredibly beautiful you and your Mum are? You can tell she is so proud of you too!
It is the mindset and culture. Way to go. No interruptions to mom liked to hear what she has to say and be glad to give time for her to express her thoughts and ideas
Hi Lucie, I've accidentally discovered your channel and have been binge watching all of your videos 💕 Just wanted to say hi and thank you for such an amazing content! You and your mom are absolutely beautiful inside and out. This video has especially warmed my heart 🥰
LOVED this video! Thank you Lucie’s Mom :) Would you and your Moms ever consider doing a video of healthy eating and fitness ideas taking into consideration age- looking at how things change or maybe need to be tweaked a little as we women age gracefully/beautifully?
How wonderful, thank you for sharing - - and you both speak such perfect English. . . I'm very impressed. How lovely to grow up that way - - sharing and caring.
Salut Lucie je suis italienne je suis beaucoup tes videos et j'habite à paris aussi, nous en Italie faisons les mêmes choix nos cultures sont très similaires!
Wow, your mum is gorgeous..! I haven't even watched it yet, I'll do whatever she says though (in vain hope I'll look like her at her age, lol). Thanks for sharing xx
Great video, so much good advice and you are both beautiful! Would love it if you could share some 30- 15 minute prepration dinner recipes, as a mum time is so valuable.

I love the whole French approach to food, it is the right way. I just hope my kids turn out like me and eat healthily as they get older! Sorry for the really long comment! Much love x ❤
Superb!!! That’s exactly what I do as a mom, think what I feel like making for dinner, what I have, and then what I need. Would love to see more with you and your mom, your outfits, shopping habits, skincare etc. where do you all live now?? I noticed in Paris at Monoprix they have a marvelous gourmet selection of baby food👍how about showing a few days of meals? Merci from California🏖☀️☀️
What does your mum eat for breakfast =)? Does she eat dairy products apart from cheese regularly - things like yoghurt etc. How did she handle leftovers from children when you were young =)?
What a great video, with super advice from your sweet mother❣️I agree with what she said (I avoid pork, shellfish, and unclean animals). Yes, eating healthy , colorful food is important❣️🥰💕Merci beaucoup❣️
It would be so great to have a cookbook with you and your moms favorite quick, easy and healthy meal ideas. My husband is Serbian and I am from Los Angeles, Ca. We moved to Serbia when the kids were babies and everything in life slowed down. I was able to breathe, walk and relax. I actually had time to cook (learning to cook, my mother never cooked) After coming back to the US a few years later I was equipped with cooking knowledge but now my time was an issue. The US is synonymous with fast paced grab and go. It’s our “culture” sadly. So I would love to have a great book of healthy “basics” that can be prepared in 30 minutes.
Thank you for sharing! As someone looking to the future as a wife, mother and full time receptionist, I often wonder how prepared am I? This helps a lot. Appreciation, Sio.
I’d like to see what your mom eats in a week. I’d like to see the portion sizes.
Her dinners look like mine, you can see them in my what I eat videos!
Please please please do a video with your mother about the French approach to beauty... especially skincare and how these things change as you age.
Omg both of you are so beautiful!! I see where you and your sister got your looks from💖💖 I just started this video but if she doesn’t mention it in this one I’m gonna need your moms skincare routine pretty please 🙏🙏🙏

I’d love for your mom to take us shopping with her. Your mom is so pretty! I’d love to see more videos with her everyone in a while. ☺️
