Thanks for the video! I have a situation where my "sunken" Florida Room used to be a covered patio with a screen door and screened windows. It wasn't sealed well, apparently, when they enclosed it to make it a Florida Room. I've lived here for 7 years and hadn't noticed until very recently that the water was slowly seeping in from ground water. Chronic sinus issues and then the smell of mold/mildew led me to remove the baseboards and I've got mold on 2 walls and one corner of the third. I have no rain gutter on the part that needs one, and my patio drains are clogged - all my fault, yes. The drains are as old as the pool...at least 30 years old, I'm guessing. We were power washing them out, but that didn't help much for very long. My question is: would concreting-in my room, which would also make it level with my dining area, help me with this issue?? We are planning on sealing the outer part of the slab, digging and creating a French drain system, putting a rain gutter where needed and installing wider pool drains (which right now are only 1" thick). I'm just wondering if this would be a bonus to all that AND I'll have one level as I'd really like to add sliding barn doors to close off that room if needed. Thanks for any advice.

@@gaiagoddess8009 Odell probably means to say; it depends on the existing pitch to the slab on the framed wall. Your issue was perhaps already there, not considering that the slab should've been raised first before the new framed enclosure was put up. This is common because screen enclosures/covered patios are intended to be lower than the main building's slab. Yes. When done correctly, pouring a slab to height will likely benefit and cure the seepage. Good luck!

For a 26' x 16' x 5" over lay that hasn't moved in 43 years, would you still use rebar? Could you do fiber mesh and chicken wire?
Also, there is concrete up the sides, would you still need the wood frame for expansion? Just trying to do it "right" but material is soooo expensive right now too.
