I like the old music to the intro that after hearing it that way so many times, I've come to expect it that way,...but the new works too.

@@OdellCompleteConcrete I remember hearing Clapton and Layla
I vote for Layla too but it is all good.

But a third party claimed it as there own.

Great job, that's some strong concrete, always amazes me that because of weather temperature range local to where you are, no hardcore/compaction is generally not required.
Impressive end result.

Awesome job guys thanks for that great video O'Dell complete concrete

First time watcher. Great job, and you are so informative explaining each step.
Thanks so much!
thanks again for more educational videos. Neighbor had a 12'x12' pad and sidewalk poured onto unpacked wet soil 2 weeks ago in Minnesota. No rebar. They told him since they were pouring 5-6 inches thick it will be fine. Looks like the weight of the cement is making it sink and affecting the way the water flows away from the house. Also a week of rain had pulled ground material out from under the edges of the pour on the pad and the sidewalk. hope the best for him. wish a pro like you worked on his home.

A great job with a nice finish. Thanks. Clearly achieved by the applications of considerable effort by your team √

Love watching your work with any intro👍🏻 but the original will always be my favorite 😊 beautiful job as always!

Nice work David!
I've got to admit to being jealous of California winters, we would have definitely needed to put a minimum 7" gravel base where I live to protect from freeze/thaw cycles. Glad you can do good work without the extra hassle.

Yes, but The Odells have to contend with the ground turning to jelly every so often during earthquakes. Makes even the best concrete look average.

I was thinking what can I do to not upcharge... So I upgraded the concrete 😆. Note to self, never take the hit financially for circumstances you could not see during your estimation. A good rule of thumb to adhere by is to put that clause in your contract if it's not already or when giving your bid you let the customer know before hand, what is possible if the soil thing happens. Good job and excellent knowledge
Good point.
TY
Lovely
nice job.

great intro hahaha is that you or your son ? great work! I always want to do some concrete but chicken out last minute and end up paying someone to do it.... one day ... one day

Maybe some day have a timer running?
It'd be nice to see how much time elapses between steps
Great Video!
every timing stage varies from job to job, but it may still be interesting
Love the video but I wish you would show us what it looks like when it has fully dried. I bet it is beautiful.
Yes I concur.
I'm sure it is
Original intro is my vote.
TY
Beautiful! One question, why didn’t you break out and reform a few feet of that entrance curb to accommodate the wider driveway? Just not in the budget?
Bingo
New intro?
Good job, mr Odell
I have a question for you, I want to put self level concrete on my deck, to drain the water out, only thing is a wood deck and it has rubber material on top, any ideas? On what material to use! Thank you and have a nice day
Not self leveling.
Other then that I don't know.

Hi, great job on all the work I seen you guys do. I am pouring a side porch at my house next week. It is 6' x 10' x 10". Would you recommend a joint cut into the center and cure sprayed on, NJ weather. Do you also have any tips or tricks on when to strip the forms to finish the sides. Thanks
Strip the next day.
Yes joints are always good.
TY
Interesting, my uncle used to live in that part of Orange near the Village Mall. When he bought his house about 20 years ago, they disclosed a slab crack repair where they cut out and redid part of the kitchen slab. I wonder if that was also due to the expansive soils as well that affected the house in your video.
I'm sure it was.
Brilliant to key under that city sidewalk. Is there such thing as a root barrier to keep tree roots from getting under that new driveway? Like a 3’ wide plastic panel the length of the drive put down into a trench? Or would the damn roots just go under that and still lift the drive?
Yes there is root barriers.
I did this mostly for the expansive soil conditions.
Been watching your videos for a long time and now I have about 60' of driveway to do in Los Angeles as well as footing/floor for a 1200 sf garage, maybe I could get you to do it? Will be calling you.
sure sounds good
How long did a job like this take? And about how much? Going to need to replace mine come spring and it’s a similar size.
Three days.
3500.
Nice video ... Show a sight to concrete mixture machine ..How much water, concrete, cement ,sand u added .. we want to hv an idea .Thank u
Sure sounds good
Wanting an RV pad for a 43' RV tag axle diesel pusher weighing around 35,000 lbs. What do you like for slab thickness, rebar size and mix design?
6" deep #4 @ 18"
3250psi
You're the man. Thanks for the info 👍
Be sure to buy your fiber mesh from his store.
@@cra4512
For sure
can you show us how you add fiber mesh into the concrete in a future video? Have never seen that before
Sure
Mr. Ordell, What size dumpster / many yards container did you use for this job?
1 10 yds.
@@OdellCompleteConcrete thank you sir! Love your videos. Keep up the Great work
beautiful work, wish you local to my house I'd hire you

TY
Could you tell me again exactly what the mix and fiber was please.
3000 psi
With fiber mesh
do you need permit to remove and replace driveway?
Only in Laguna Beach
What do you typically tip the concrete truck driver?
My usual tip is, Don't flip the rig.
@@OdellCompleteConcrete so no $$$?
If I were the homeowner...I would of requested 6 inches of that clay soil removed....and 6 inches of road base rock put down first....then do your rebar and high pressure concrete...even if there is an up charge.....a solid sub-grade is the most important aspect of any concrete job.
Old intro got my vote sounds like a no nonsense get the job done beat,, the new one is ok untill the guy comes on it kinda sounds like someone dropped a slab of cement on his foot,, you guys are gods at concrete you should rent some band equipment and make your own intro in the garage ,,,
TY
What’s your estimation for this? Great video Thanks
4500
Thanks Bro. How big of the drive way?
Just curious on the cost range for this particular job....

@@OdellCompleteConcrete Thank you. I'm in Dallas. Any contacts? I was guessing around 5
how far did you go under the sidewalk?
2"s
its so rare that you demo a driveway that actually has rebar in it
True, so what does that mean?
Concrete with rebar last longer?
The owner didnt want the curb cut to 16 foot to match driveway ?
Wouldn't everyone if they had the money
With all you hard work the property should be easier to sell ( @09:58 Realtors sign)
True
I think that was the idea.
Not gonna lie, I like the original much more.
Yes I get a lot of that, but we had a issue with that music.
What's a rolled edge?
When the edge is is on a different slope then the rest of the slab
What's a high PSI?
4500
We never use fly-ash in flatwork.
We always put 4”-6” gravel/base on the ground
We never, never pour on bare ground.
We never worry about which way to run bull float we just say bull float it and get those edges filled up ( we take a shovel and refill edge with concrete a shovel full of concrete would go 10-15 feet) I do not like my edges even a 1/8 in low.
Your joints always look good it is very hard to freehand those things. I always have to lay my aluminum screed board down.
I hear that.
Nice work
Look at all that dog food in the garage LOL
Nice

i noticed you dont dip the broom in water with each pass
That's true.
Water weakens the surface.
What's the price on that machine
40,000
No sub base?
Not in Southern California where its beach weather everyday
Old intro was better at my opinion

How much does a job like that cost?

@@OdellCompleteConcrete I'm on the East coast, lower Fairfield county, Connecticut. You can add at least two grand more to that. $4500 is a deal with the fiberglass mesh and heavy PSI concrete mix. I have an asphalt driveway roughly the same size as this one. I want concrete like this.
who farted at 4:46 xD or made a fake fart noise?!
I don't hear anything
Proposed drinking game: every mention of ‘big blue’ or ‘monolithic pour’, take a swig.
Get it on
Why go through all that trouble and not just fill all of the cracks saves u more money that way
You can fill the cracks, but it wont hold it together since there is no steel reinforcement.
Did you ever hear of an excavator
with a 40' reach
@@OdellCompleteConcrete you start up by the garage and work your way back you're tearing the driveway out anyways you don't even destroy up the sub base
