I was actually on the lookout for EVOO with high polyphenol content, being based in EU, getting snake oil is very expensive. thanks for suggesting green machine !
Btw, i love ur channel as we really need more people to make what bryan johnson does more accecible, practical, understandable and budget friendly for the average person
Prices have gone crazy since covid. We buy 5 litres for £80 from amazon in the UK. It's says pure Virgin olive oil as we use for cooking but now I will use your method for checking quality thankyou
Thanks for the testing! I havent been using oils at all because during university studies, we analyzed olive oils ourselves and the lions share of them was heavily oxidized. Foenthe first time in months i have bought five bottles of one of the most acclaimed olive oils from Andalusia for my family and one for me to try. I'm not sure thought if you do yourself a favor by consuming an oxidized oil compared to not eating oil at all
I am with you! For health benefits I stick to as fresh EVOO I can get. For cooking I don't mind if its a cheaper EVOO like Bertolli. Which EVOO did you get for your family?
Olive oil might have some benefits, but why not consume whole foods. Oil is always a refined product and has less nutrients than the food it was extracted from. I live in the mediterranian but I always feel better when I don't consume any oil whatsoever, you can notice the benefits mostly because it really improves your athletic performance, and it's normal because any oil always clogs up your insulin receptors causing you to feel fatigued faster
Thank you so much !! Merry chrithmas!! Also would be cool to see which dark chocolate you recommend for european citizens, alternative to bryan johnsons dark choko😊thanksss
I tried to score it, but it did not work since in my measuring system since not all parameters we tested were tested by Snake Oil. Hence, it would be an unfair comparison.
Great video. Also bought Green Machine based on your recommendation. An additional possibility for high quality oil is also Petrousa by Felu (fit by cooking). He launched it previously.
Thank you! The score is based on the 5 test values and things like packaging & production methods. You'll find the exact details in guide I created: mailchi.mp/fountain-of-youth/evoo-guide To your second question: While high polyphenols are great for health, they’re not the only factor that determines quality. Oils like *Carapelli* and *De Cecco* had exceptional polyphenol levels but scored lower due to signs of oxidation (high peroxide values, UV absorbency markers) and lack of harvest date transparency. Freshness and proper handling are just as important as health benefits, and these oils showed signs of aging or extended storage, which impacted their overall score.
I use Coppadoro - Coratina in bag in box (it's has a plastic lining but it oxidize way less compared to bottles) from oliociccolella, it'd be cool to test them if you do another round of test someday :D. I found them to be a very good quality/price
Thank you! It was not the best choice though I guess to only compare Italian and US Oil. In my experience Greece produces much better oils and Spain or Portugal have some respectable ones too.
Thank you :) I tried to pick the most popular / sold brands throughout US & EU for this test. I might do a more peculiar test at another point. And also the Bertolli & Carapelli both have unclear origin of olives (only the brand is Italian, although owned by a Spanish MNC)
Yes, I still get it every year en-mass. Although I also use the Green Machine for drizzling foods. The oil comes tested from the farm so I don't need to test myself
Tolle Analyse.
Thank you for the comparison! But, how dare you not include the market leader in "EVOO health claims": O'liv plus! :) th-cam.com/video/Q8hEYzPSZdc/w-d-xo.html While everyone is hyping the polyphenol content, it also feels a bit like a dubious trend, and soon too many polyphenols might be proven detrimental by the next trend. Which is why I personally combine a high polyphenol oil like O'liv plus with so-to-speak "Ancient oils" from highly traditional places in Greece, where trees may reach up to 1000 years of age, and thus the olive oil is only 2-3 generations away from the original olive oils of the Antique. If you could one day add a video discussing the exact health claims that seem to be proven for regular olive oil intake, that would be awesome. We know our health industry well...red wine was it, now it's not. Spinach was it, now it's not. Olive Oil has a long, super ancient tradition in Europe. It remains to be seen whether the Old Greeks were right in prioritizing their ancient variants for yet to be discovered ingredients, or whether modern polyphenol-rich oils are indeed superior. Ok, so, next comparison trial will be elite green tea? :) Anyway, Happy Holidays und einen Guten Rutsch! 🌻
Thank you for sharing your feedback & thoughts! I'll check it out your suggestions. As to EVOO's health benefits, it's like one of the very few foods that actually have super strong data (double blind trials) supporting it. Happy Holidays & happy new year to you too!

Hey, do you use Cocoa powder or supliments of it? Im looking for some good ones for sale in EU but having a hard time finding it.
Bruder ich hab Green machine auf dein Vorschlag hin gekauft und es ist SOOO GEILL OMMGGGGG
Das freut mich sehr, dass es Dir gefällt. Ich bin auch 100% überzeugt!

Purity 100%, and freshness should be the criteria.
What would the equivalent score be for Snake Oil?
I tried to score it, but it did not work since in my measuring system since not all parameters we tested were tested by Snake Oil. Hence, it would be an unfair comparison.
Great test. Would have even be more amazing if you had tested on Toxic Phthalates; something they only recently discovered many olive oils contain 😪
Thank you! Interesting. Have not heard of this before. Will check that out!
Great video. Also bought Green Machine based on your recommendation. An additional possibility for high quality oil is also Petrousa by Felu (fit by cooking). He launched it previously.
Thanks for sharing! I love to crowdsource recommendations - if this video takes off might lead to a round two of testing EVOOs
Thanks for buying our olive oil! I hope it meet all you standards!
can you test them for phthalates next as I’ve heard that’s a big problem with EVOO. You’d be the first channel

Why phthalates?
If this video reached +75K views I will make that video, promise!
@@Fountain-of-Youth Include OLV Limits in it, not sure why you didn't in this one ?
No November Olive Oil?! 😞
Hey, find ich alles mega Interessant was du machst. Wie stehst du zum Thema mikroplastik und Schwermetallbelastung?
Danke :) Beides ein relevantes Thema, besonders bei regelmäßigem Fischverzehr
How does the score work? Why the ones with high polyphenols have lower scores?
Thank you! The score is based on the 5 test values and things like packaging & production methods. You'll find the exact details in guide I created: mailchi.mp/fountain-of-youth/evoo-guide

I use the same, they do Test, but don’t publish on the website. Last time I wrote them a mail and got the results (they were very good)
Noted :) never heard of them though.
@@Hbhbhb1123 yep same I asked for polyphenol content
Personally I avoid any type of oil, I always feel sluggish after consuming oils even if it's EVOO

Yes, I still get it every year en-mass. Although I also use the Green Machine for drizzling foods. The oil comes tested from the farm so I don't need to test myself
I used to buy Peppoli from Cantinetta Antinori, but lately I can't be assed because to transport it you require checked in luggage
high quality olive oil with polyphenols is more bitter
