    But even raw fish meat carry worms and parasites as well so I don't quite understand the logic here replacing one raw blended protein food with another. I could understand however granular food etc produced in a sterile facility etc being a beneficial way to avoid issues of worms and keeping the water quality much better in a high stocking farm environment. I think the optimal word here would be 'prefer' in terms of beef heart blend or seafood blend for sure. Moderation and a variety of high quality food for diet perhaps goes a longer way in terms of health concerns. Outside of this I think the overall food recommendations are great.

      Nothing beats a good variety of high quality food and I understand and disagree that yes seafood can have worms too. But give it a try. See how you feel about our recommendation surrounding reducing worm symptoms just from simply changing from Beefheart to seafood. In any case, fish eat fish and crustaceans and are much more natural than Beef heart. Perhaps its gentler on their digestive tract, therefore, the fish feels less stress that reduces the manisfestation of worm taking hold. We have tried it for 3 years as well as many of customers and we can all see the benefit and not turning back to Beefheart simply for growth.

      @@OZDiscusThe wild caught discus diet is a mix of plant matter, fruits, detritus, worms, crustaceans, and insects here and there, and that's the discus I keep. I find that a balanced mix of food types works best for them; the high protein raw protein mixes will grow them quickly yes but they all have the possibility of carrying parasites if the preparation isn't in a thoroughly controlled environment. The beef heart mix I use actually is a mix of the beef heart and fresh salmon and krill, and mixing that into the diet gets them big quickly. I like the ingredients of your seafood mix as well and mixing that in with the diet would again add to that variety; It all points right back to a high quality variety of food really. For me it becomes even more so with Wilds. :)

    instead of the sera insect and growth food. Is Dymax Discus gold better ?

    • @kelvinchang7655
      @kelvinchang7655 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Dymax Discus Gold is different. Can certainly be used as it has excellent prebiotics which helps to soften the poo of fish and prevent bloat. I do recommend it as an addition to any diet.

    What kind of dry food (pellet) blend should I give to my yellow red and blue strain discuss in the same tank?
    I’m currently feeding Tropical D50 and it is fading the yellow one a lot.
    Shd I do the sera insect, Color and growth pellets together and it won’t bother the reds and yellows?
    Thank you so much!

      You Need to look at the ingriedients. Astaxhantin will Color it red. I have some wild Heckel cross and i try Sera Nature flakes + granulat + insects only and only One a week frozen food.

    Hello Kelvin - I am based in India and currently have 8 Cuipeua Red wild discus with me. It’s been 3 months now. Half of my fish accept all kinds of pellet food but the remaining half only eat freeze dried Australian black worms. A lot of local experts tells me that it’s not a good idea to feed them black worms and that I should force them to move to pellet food with occasional feeding of black worms.
    What’s your opinion on feeding the fish daily with black worms. Is it advisable ? Thank you in anticipation !

    • @OZDiscus
      @OZDiscus  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For nutrition and protein, freeze dried blackworm has all the essential. However, fish love worms. Hence, if your fish is fed daily with the best tasting food, they will refuse to eat anything less tasty. So trying to get them onto pellets will be futile if they are expecting the best food. So i would definitely only feed the freeze dried worms as a treat and make the pellets more staple daily diet for them. If this is your goal, then they may have to go cold turkey awhile before reintroducing worms on the occasion (not daily)

    I am from india and now i am confuse in between shop foods and beef heart or goat heart
    Can you plz suggest me some good food for daily basic and some for treat weekly
    I have yellow blue and red colors discus so plz suggest for overall color enhance not only red enhancer

    • @OZDiscus
      @OZDiscus  ปีที่แล้ว

      Why would you be confused with the food we suggest. Most enhancers are red. For non-coloured food, then go with Freeze Dried Blackworms. Look at Sera Insect.

    • @OZDiscus
      @OZDiscus  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can as a staple diet. Only disadvantage of this is your discus will be very stubborn when you want to change food as they love the taste too much.

    Best Discus food is not the stuff that comes in dry form.. live food is the best source to feed discus.. beef heart, turkey heart and meat.. I have never ever fed my discus the Sera brand stuff, always made my own, adding vitamines. bbs eggs and go to the kitchen machine.. I made best real food for the fraction of the brands shown here..

    • @OZDiscus
      @OZDiscus  หลายเดือนก่อน

      The advice is a variety of food. Beefheart is high in protein and an old traditional food. Try feeding your fish some other food, they wont touch it if its all you feed and you gotta contend with bloat and frequent worming is necessary. Change the diet if you want to make food to Tuna you will see major benefits.
      Freeze dried blackworms are high in protein and a great source. Key is high protein food for discus.
      Also i go on to say that its good for people when they go away too. If you disagree pls share how you feed your fish frozen food when you go on a holiday. Love to hear it.

      @@OZDiscus First of all I try to give them all kinds if life food, my tank has a great food web for that... although they are all adults, I only feed them once a week no more then 2 eyeballs per fish.. never have any issues with them but that can also be due I run my tank as a deep dirt tank.. and sure every now and then they hunt and prey on the kardinal tetra's but that is more natural behaviour.
