    Stoked to see people tackling this misnomer about long boards in lake bumps! Love it!

      Hey Dave! Thanks for the comment. Have watched your videos. Tomorrow I’ll putting it to the test in the bumps! NOAA’s forecast:
      “Waves 8 to 12 feet. Waves occasionally around 15 feet. “. Should be big haaaa stoked.

    Excellent review. Watched my buddy jump on a 9’ x 18” recently and he’s hooked. He’s paddling up much smaller foils with ease. Your video is awesome you hit all the key points.

      Thanks for the positive feedback. Such a good time to be a surfer!! 🤙. Those
      Big boards sure are interesting. They have a place.

    Can you do a video comparing the Kalama with the Armstrong and DragonFly?

      Good idea I’ll do that.

      I'm considering the 8'2 96L armstrong DWP board. At your level would you consider it?
      I'm the same weight as you and an intermediate downwinder. Cheers

      If I was in salt water with no wetsuit I’d go for it. I find 105-110 litres is the sweet spot for me.
      Trade off is performance, but if it’s a pain to get up, not worth it.

    Great video! Very easy take off on the 110!

      It wasn’t too bad with that setup at all. Never attempted a paddle up or DW with that 110. Definitely a little scared to give it a go. Always nice to break those barriers!

    I’ll be in the UP June. Maybe we can get some DW in?

    What do you think about that track placement? Looks like you're maxed out on the 180HAX. Not too much room for adjustment?

    • @michaelpisarczyk6465
      @michaelpisarczyk6465  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Ya got it all the way forward but feels good. Went winging with it, that was with 110 HAX though. Have the Armstrong 7’2”. Always put everything forward as far as it could go. If that means anything.

    Thanks for the content. I’m up in Marquette on Lake Superior so it’s nice to see relevant content. Have you prone surfed this board or had any success with any board prone foil surfing? I’m currently pretty much just winging as the Armstrong SUP 6’2 I have doesn’t paddle straight at all!!!

      Hey my pleasure thanks for checking it out. Superior the one Lake I have yet to be on. One day…. Some of those surf spots look unreal!
      I’ve proned on my DW board. I’m not proficient at it. I found my take offs were later. Couldn’t position myself aswell, compared to standing.
      Personally standing is the way for me. Early take offs. Already standing and can see sets coming in earlier.

    Great video. Thanks for sharing your experience with the V2. I'm on a V1 8'0.
    I see your mast is all the way to the front. I'm surprised as the new boxes have been moved further forward. Was the board balanced? How did it feel? Thanks

      It felt good all the way forward. Felt very balanced for an 8’8”. Surprised me how well it can turn.

    Would you recommend a board like this for a beginner?

    • @michaelpisarczyk6465
      @michaelpisarczyk6465  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      No not for beginners. Recommend going approx 40 litres above ur weight in KG’s. Larger the board will make things easier.

    Looks like a great downwind board but it may partially be due to your skills. What dimensions and volume would you recommend for someone weighing upwards of 100kg/220lbs in gear for use in open ocean type swell?

    • @michaelpisarczyk6465
      @michaelpisarczyk6465  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Id be looking at Kalama Performance the Big Cuda. Designed specifically for the big boys.

      @@michaelpisarczyk6465 I'll have to give one a shot. I haven't had good luck on the 120L or less boards when it comes to open ocean conditions off the foil.

    Where is the leash from?

    • @michaelpisarczyk6465
      @michaelpisarczyk6465  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It’s a Takuma eFoil leash I had at my house. Got lucky seems to be perfect. Been messing around with leashes. Soo many options…

    I just noticed the tail is different on this board. Is this a new design for this board?

      I’m not to sure what the past version were like.

      @@michaelpisarczyk6465 Previous version was squared off like the Dragonfly. If you go to their website they still show the squared off version of the Barracuda.
