@@carsonsihgarage8950 That's the plan. Pulled my Scout out of bush AK. Going to fly it to Anchorage and drive from there. Not sure if we're doing it this summer or not due to Covid but still considering it. Got a little teardrop camper to pull behind it. Should be an adventure.
Best thing for these 152 - 196 engines are to do a gasket match for exhaust and intake and valve job , get rid of any sharp edges in the oil and water passages ....mind that if your doing a rebuild or like me and want a smother flowing engine.

Does anyone know where to find balljoints for these scout 800 I got a 66 scout an I'm needing ball joints something bad
Im not sure where to find replacements but i see that can be rather expensive for the stock setup. Im going to go with an upgraded steering kit.
