I have the older Xtool. I use it daily. Also have the im608 I use daily. I love both. I would like the newer xtool but even the older version is great. Im608 obviously has more advanced features but there are many times I have to use the xtool for things the autel can’t seem to do. Either was them together is what every auto locksmith needs. Also suggest the smart pro and Abrites. Always good idea to have multiple tools to use when one won’t work the other most likely will. Glad I found this guys video.

Also was out tonight doing Citroen c4 key. The customer a few days ago greeted me and said when I had arrived that he had no key blade. That was new for me, because im sure he never said. So I rang Citroen. They gave me a key code which was 10 letters long. Turned out immediate confusion as the first letter N was not in my key tool max. Then I realised as key tool max said biting 6 for that key that I must have to use just the last 6 characters/letters of the 10 digit code. OK so I entered them and the key picture on the key tool max showed the cut. I cut the key and wondered. Ok so do I just turn the key over or do I have to select flip the blade cut by the option on the screen. I didn't and went ahead with the same cut on the other side. Ok so went to the car. 10 miles away from my house. Got there and the key did not fit. Then the customer said he actually found the original key. The was his fathers who has just died and the son is trying to get it running for his mother. I wish he could have found it earlier. OK though, so now with the original key available I put in in m2 clamp on side A and selected blade type and decode. It decoded and put the drawing with letters up on the screen.
Guess what. The letters were backwards to the letters from Citroen. Instead of entering them from left to right as Citroen had written them, they were to be entered right to left on key tool max.
A.D.E.C.A.F from Citroen but should be entered F.A.C.E.D.A like how would I have known that?

Do you have any ideas about the OBD star. Would you buy it rather than Autel im608pro. Supposed to cover same amount of cars but not Mercedes. I know Autel does not cover Iveco when their coverage checker says its does.
Obd star is cool for a wide range of asian & domestic vehicles.. if u have the precoder than u extend the coverage to european vehicles.. but if were talking about the best asian and domestic programmer definitely lean towards the autopropad

How funny. Autel ms908im did not cover iveco when they said it did. I met a new firm selling the obd star and theyd said it covers all the cars that autel does but not mercedes. Then to cover those can buy a simple unit red box for £1000. And still have change. Lots of change.

Mmm its an ok tool but not the best for begginers i do recommend the autopropad basic for beginners.. try to program the remote on board... usually you can get to remote setting .. select toyota .. select by vehicle or type and then remote should be an option .. if it doesnt give u that option try on board programming (manual no programmer)

No , an IM508 lacks a J box . Even the IM608 cannot do Reflashing of modules off the IM608 tablet, how ever the Jbox that comes with it can be used with a Windows 10 pro laptop with a purchased OE subscription and modules re flashed through OE software program

Mate bought key code from another firm for Suzuki. Code arrived but just numbers. Not letters for key tool max. Firm said the number comes from instacode. Do you know how I can enter it into key tool max to cut a key?
I would recommend you download the instacode app its realy good i pay 13 a month... if the key cutter doesnt have that key its not going to cut it .. you have to look for key number on the dolphin.. i have tried to cut some newer keys but it sucked at cutting newer motorcycle keys.. i know the sec-e9 would cut it for sure.. it has a good amount of

When it comes to key programmers you need to have all tools
The more you have the better it is.
I had a opel master van had one working key and needed a spare
Used smart pro could not touch it
Used AVDI could read the pin but could not program second key
Used xtool D8 done in 60 seconds 😄😄

Hola buenas, primero que nada queria darle las gracias por todos estos videos. He aprendido tanto y me ha echo estar mucho mas preparado para los trabajos que me llaman. Mi pregunta es: en una situacion cuando todas las llaves estan perdidas, el carro esta con llave y la alarma se activa usando un lishi, que haces para parar la alarma? Gracias por todo.
Primero abres la puerta obviamente se activa la alarma, después desconecta la batería, se silencia la alarma, después con la lishi abres ignición switch, dejas abierto y reconectas batería de ese modo se desactiva la alarma..
@@luisornelas6917 Muchas gracias, regularmente solo hago copias de llaves dado que es lo que mas se ocupa en programaciones(reemplazo de ecm/bcm). He tenido unas cuantas situaciones donde todas las llaves se han perdido y he tenido que dejar ir esos carros. Le agradesco mucho su respuesta y tiempo.
