I don't blame him for trying via obd. pulling that cas module out of a mini is nothing like pulling it out of the BMW. most of the dash has to come out/apart. yeah, I learned this the hard way. its also not anything he necessarily did to brick it because the one I brocked, after I repaired it I tried the down grade with 3 different programmers, vehicle at a full 14 volt and it bricked every time.
Hey Curtis.I jst wanted to saythanks for sharing so much knowledge and information on your channel. Ihave been in autorepair and related business for55 years.Stilllearning new things every day. Amazing detailed video here Curtis !! was looking at a smilier system for FEM On a f20 bmw. had to preprocess a replacement FEM ( due to old one being completed bricked by previous tech ) set up Calculated update to manually input ISN , VIN and frequency, even through ISN was exactly the same from Ecu was attempting to write key but message keeps popping up with security password incorrect??? You selected slot 9 for a key so not sure wether this make a difference ? Thanks
Awesome video. Did you know in 6 to 8 weeks autel IM608 and im508 users in order to logging in to their tools you need to input NASTF credentials That is going to change the game For autel users
very informative video, question i have a 2011 bmw 528i 6 cilynders 3.0 i need to replace ecm do i have to program ecm, cas3 and key? I am beginner on programing thank you for your help!
Hi. It depends on which tools you have. You can edit the ISN on the donor DME as per the CAS ISN then program it OR edit the CAS ISN as per the donor DME ISN. Please note that it all depends on the tools you have for such jobs. Good luck.
What kind of vehicle is it what year fun things to learn but when I don't know what type of vehicle it is how do you supposed to know it's the same procedure for the everything
Because that's irrelevant, it's the chip in the cas version that you need to know. And how to do it. Bricked cas3++ here is a solution. It happens when people fail downgrading cas on mini and probably other ways.
Well, the video clearly tells you that he was fixing the CAS3++ on a Mini Cooper. This is the same CAS on many BMW as well, so you have ALL the information needed. Mini Cooper is based on the BMW platform and is basically the same car.
I was able to make a new key form the old one via autel and via obd with the same cas3++istap module. The car can start but the remote is not working at all. All the major module and central locking system inside the car is working properly. Could be related to a different version of the original chip of the key?
Glad to hear you got the key to start the car! If the remote isn't working, it could definitely be related to a mismatch in the key's chip version or coding. Make sure the key is fully programmed and synced with the vehicle's systems. If everything checks out, you might need to reprogram the remote part specifically. Good luck!
It's not necessary but you can, if key was stolen for example that's a scenario where you might want to vs this case misplaced where owner may find key and still have access..
Thanks for watching the video! Adding a key to a Mini with the IM608 via OBD is generally safe, but there’s always a small risk involved when programming keys. To minimize issues, make sure the battery is fully charged and follow the instructions carefully
Thank you for making the video and teaching me! My IM608 doesn't have the subscription yet. I tried making a key for a junkyard eis out of a Mercedes but am not successful until I get it.
When i hit read eeprom it says failed to connect to adapter. If i connect it to my laptop and use the xp400 i can read both files and write the eeprom but i cant write the flash. Any advice?
That sounds really frustrating! If you’re getting 'failed to connect to adapter' when trying to read the EEPROM, here are a few things to check, make sure everything is securely plugged in, double-check your software settings to ensure you're on the right vehicle and module, if you’re using a laptop, make sure your adapter drivers are up to date and check that the vehicle’s battery is fully charged, low voltage can affect the connection too.
im wondering why you not using obdstar g3 since according to you the autel im608 is a pice of crap compared to the "obdstar key master g3" ???????????????
I appreciate your question! While I may have mentioned some limitations of the Autel IM608, it really depends on the specific needs of each job. The OBDSTAR Key Master G3 is indeed a strong for key programming, but I still find value in the IM608. Each tool has its strengths, so it’s all about choosing the right one for the job
@yaboi5686 if you have a power supply that's holding 13v period, I'd say you would be okay. I believe it calls for 13.5 stable could be wrong but the tool will warn you and tell you in advance. But u need a power supply there is 1 on amazon around $200 that will do the job.
Honestly I would love to come and learn from you bro, you are talented.
thanks

I have a cas3+ corrupted I’m using launch and it doesn’t have ecu repair function, can I send you my files and you fix it? I’ll pay for that.
Nice video
I have 1 Q to this
You do AKL but you only add 1 key?
What about the rest of the key's
Don't you erase all other key's, when you do AKL?
It's not necessary but you can, if key was stolen for example that's a scenario where you might want to vs this case misplaced where owner may find key and still have access..
Si hay te mando unos chicharrones 😂😂😂😂😂👍👍👍👍👍
If I have to add a key to a Mini with the IM608 via OBD is it risky? I don't want to have to go through all this. Thanks for the video!

how is the dc706 vs im508s ?
Not the same types of tools
I see locksmiths do this all the time. Downgrading cas with no power supply big No No.
Minimum charge of 13.3V correct ?
