Darcy, I swear as much as you do and I would also forget to attach a blade whilst recording a video on how to attach new mower blades. Great work legend!!
Stop degrading your intelligence. Most people put their videos up on TH-cam ONCE they have learned the topic AND when they can put the best version up. In saying that, I learn so much from everyone on TH-cam....it is truly brilliant so thankyou (and all!)
Yep, made the same mistake, watched your video and after a fair bit frustration, CRC and persuasion, all sorted. The lawn is thanking you for it. Cheers mate.
Darcy, I think the blades are supposed to be able to turn a little so not tightened really tight. This is in case they hit something hard, cetrifugal force will return them to full extension when spinning. Cheers, please correct me if I am wrong. Funny commentary 👍
Yes, I was told leave them just loose enough so they can swing away if they hit a stump or anything else immovable. Centrifugal force keeps them in the right position the rest of the time when cutting grass 👍🏻 Solid one piece blades can mess up your timing if they hit something and stop the mower dead which usually causes snatchback on the recoil when starting- that hurts!!
The video was produced with good intentions. *You're Correct* - That's the whole point of having lock nuts on the blades. Tighten to a point where they LOCK but still allow movement of the blade if the blade hit's a rock or tree root etc. They are designed to be a one-time use so once removed you effectively no-longer have a lock nut. Definitely _DO NOT_ use WD-40 on them, it defeats the whole purpose of a lock nut. Well done Darcy - You sound like me when I take stuff apart and put it back together.
Very useful and helped me sharpen the factory blades. However, i had to change position of the blades from straight like the video to the original (at an angle). This stopped the grass lines on the ground that would not land inside the catcher.
Hey mate, you helped me a lot as I picked the wrong direction to loose the bolt (which actually is fastening) and I checked your video then realised how silly I was but a summer hot afternoon really pushes ppl to rush on things. Your video made my day...
I’m almost positive the Center assembly isn’t designed to come off. I read it somewhere after I tried with a spanner, tire iron and rattle gun to no avail. Doing it the way I did worked quite easily now I’ve done it a few times.
It's so much easier just to take the whole blade assembly of to access to the blade bolts. The blades are not adjustable they are 18 inch and even if you tighten them they will still be thrown out to 18 inch. You adjust the blades so you can still move them and not tight otherwise you'll damage the plastic washes.
Had you considered changing the blades with the catcher flap up and work thru the aperture from the top. Much easier.. !! Mower needs to be at elevated waist height for this job.
@@LockdownDetailing my grandfather owns a victa same as this and I have been trying to like buy it off him but not successful do I asked if I could buy urs off u lmao
Very helpful mate! Couldn’t work out why the bloody bolts wouldn’t do up! Appreciate the video!

Fark you are my back yard mechanical twin 😂
Thanks m8 as I just bought one so now I am up to speed & enjoyed the bit where you realised you forgot to put the blade on. Classic!
Haha cheers mate. Enjoy!
Haha i laughed at the end when the blade wasn't on. Thanks so much for this because i wondered how the heck to change the blades too! Awesome video.

You're a champ! I thought blades were optional for a moment
Legend, would have had trouble too without this explanation. My blades are shot to shit at the moment. Down to bunnings i go...
Haha no stress mate
Put the fucken blade on👏👏👍😂😂. Thanks great video. Even my son had no idea how to get the blades off.

You’re welcome mate! Happy mowing.
Good video mate you should make some videos of the lawns you mow. Cheers! 👍
Been thinking about it! Just gotta figure out how I’d film them.
Have a look at my latest video mate!
Love the Aussie accent and lingo. Legend matey.
Aha cheers bro!
Amazing
Mate you sound just like I would if I was doing this demo "dickhead" 😂.
Much appreciated bruv , saved me from joining the stupid club👍👍👍😁
Tells you how to change blade on the last page of the manual. Even easier by going through the catcher flap
Nah the mower flap doesnt work. Not enough clearance for the socket wrench
hahaha thanks for the info, was funny too
Hello Mine has four blades. How can I solve the problem?
You're a classic 😂
How to change ignition coil for victa lawn mower
I found it easier to take that centre bolt out and the whole assembly comes off the mower, and you can change them on the bench ?
I’m almost positive the Center assembly isn’t designed to come off. I read it somewhere after I tried with a spanner, tire iron and rattle gun to no avail. Doing it the way I did worked quite easily now I’ve done it a few times.
Rattle gun to get it all apart so very easy
Fuckin' Brilliant. Thanks
This is the most Australian video EVER!
What a champ, best vid I’ve seen on TH-cam in ages bud
Trial and error from a real aussie bloke
Should start reviewing shit
Would watch 10/10
Aha cheers mate. I’ve started doing car detailing as a side business so may start with that.
how about the oil , would it leak into the filter once lawn mower go sideway
Not if tilted this way

Did you have to fold those blades out when brand new, just got our today and the blades are folded inwards ?
Nah they come ready to attach. If they look the wrong way, try installing them the other way?
Like in the video, the fold should go upwards toward the deck.
Had you considered changing the blades with the catcher flap up and work thru the aperture from the top. Much easier.. !!

Good video Darcy but Bunnings are a rip off go to super cheap $11.99 Bunnings where $27.99 ???
Damn, went up since I last bought them haha
🤣🤣🤣
Fuck Im an idiot!
should'nt tip the mower on it's side ya gronk.
The way I tipped it is fine. The other way and you risk getting oil places it shouldn’t go. Check yourself, dickhead.
