It's really not a democratic country if one (majoritarian) group of people cannot let a certain other (oppressed) group of people live with the same dignity and rights simply because the bigger group is blinded by hatred and "moral values"! There is greater welfare in the live-&-let-live policy that can be achieved as opposed to policies based on hatred, bigotry, religious dogmatism and the so-called "moral values"!

this law is the consequence of threats from Westerners who absolutely want Africans to accept homosexual relations. We decided to do the opposite, homosexuals lived their relationship in private, nobody really cared about this subject, but LGBT NGOs had to settle in our countries to impose their vision, society rejected this diktat and the law has been strengthened.

Which shows culture is no barrier to perceived necessity. And yes, people should be speaking up for the Uygers. Political/ economic will drives opinion. This is certainly one way of understanding morality. You could judge the morality of an act based on the instrumental value it has to achieve a certain goal, perhaps "pleasure" or "happiness", but what makes it right? That you believe it? Where the moral system is based entirely on the happiness of the individual then you are right. But what if acts have intrinsic moral value? Or what if the goal is not individual happiness, but religious goals, or say wanting to uphold cultural standards? What makes that logic objectively inferior to yours? What makes you, who denies religion, superior to religious cultures, and enables you to dictate your supreme morals, of a predominantly white, Western culture? Had you been born there, would you think the same about human rights? Or is it just what you managed to absorb from your local community and media? You talk about human rights, but where they come from? Why don't animals have the exact same rights? If we all are nothing but complex carbonhydrates, what is the true meaning of human rights, and how can they be objective? How can we claim to be moral without having answered all of these questions?

After seeing how much stupid things the lgbtq community do in the western countries ,people in the other countries are skeptical of this community. In my country india where LGBTQ is legal ,can have relations easily but can't marry. I will support if government introduces special marriage act for them but there needs to be accountability in their laws for their actions not like the shit show they created in the western countries . Like for example they shouldn't have the power to influence little kids ,they should only do these things if they are over 18. Until then they shouldn't interfere in any kids life. If they have these type of things that I have mentioned above then I will have no problem with them.
