They just narrow every song down to a hook or two and a bit of fluff around it. I consider this album the best metal album of all time and one of the greatest albums ever written. The song structures are so intricate, no verse chorus verse shit. They mix multiple riffs, rhythms, and change up each song while keeping it all together and flowing. I’ve been listening to this album since the day it came out and it still never gets old. Absolute perfection. It’s a lesion in how music should sound. It will never be topped. Looking forward to reading Mustaine’s book on the album coming out in September.

Love Addicted to Chaos. 10 years ago found myself bored at times, and decided to make some videos for songs by favorite bands that didn't have videos for. Made one for Addicted to Chaos. It is the one with Dark City movie clips in it.
I still think this is quite possibly the best metal album of all time. This point is definitely arguable, even within my own mind. At the very least, it trades places with a small handful of albums, throughout my life, depending on my mood that day :)
Alex. I grew up listening to hip hop till hybrid theory from linkin park came out when i was in 6th grade. From there i dabbled in rock here and there till i came upon this album. Rust in peice changed my life and for the better. You rock bro doing this reaction to this album!!

I'm a huge fan of prog, please do live scenes from new york, great album, great musicians, great energy, great history, believe in me when I say that will be a true eargasm. regards from Chile!!!
15:19 Your reaction makes even more sense given your hip-hop background. Lucretia is a semi-progressive, proto-groove metal masterpiece whose slower tempo and colorful melodies already makes the song highly accessible to those new to metal. Now also consider the strong jazz influences in the song (prominent swing, heavy syncopation, time signature changes) and it's no surprise that rap/hip-hop listeners in particular may find a new home.
Poison Was The Cure is one of my favorites off this album. I love how it starts out a little slower with that ominous bass riff, but then the drums pick up and it goes full warp speed. Absolutely blew my mind the first time I heard it.
Alex Hefner i would like you to meet Marty Friedman on lead guitar. If you like that you should check out Cacophony the band Marty was in before Megadeth and Marty`s partner in crime in Cacophony ....the legendary Jason Becker !!!
I know these video are old and I've watched a few of your newer videos, but on this one your comment about 1817 solos busted me up so I decided to finally follow you. In my teens Iron Maiden, Megadeth and Metallica were my guitar and drum teachers. After playing at the Whiskey, Roxy and all other clubs in Hollyweird I hung up my guitar in 1997 and now have been listening to all these albums again to re-learn what I forgot and this walk down mammary lane is amazing!
Alex you should make a Discord where we can submit recommendations and talk to eachother/recommend eachother good music Thanks 🙂 Edit: you could make different chat rooms for different music genres

KennethPerkins1010 KingCort10 Great album for sure. Diadems is the jewel in it. Go To Hell being a close second. And also the special edition has 2 very cool tracks, Absolution and New World Order.
Watching your full reaction to the ALBUM really hammers home for me how amazing an album this is. There are albums out there over the decades that are not only masterpieces, not only emblematic of their time, but the epitome of their genre. If you like jazz or classical or jam band stuff or rap, I still challenge you to listen to this album with an open mind from start to finish and come find me afterwards and tell me it did not blow your fucking mind. Any true lover of music should appreciate what it is - the pinnacle of a musical style. It is metal perfection. I thank you sincerely for doing this, man. Someone really needed to.
Well put mate. Been playing this album on guitar for almost 30 years. It made me take playing guitar seriously. Metallica was fun, but Megadeth was a challenge.
I was thinking, if you do a reaction of all Metallica albums...you should do it in reverse order. start with Hardwire and work your way back to Kill ‘Em All. that way, you will be less discouraged when you hit the middle of their catalog and end on a high you will feel for weeks!
For a better plot: Black Album (we're the kings of the world so we do wtf you want) to Load/Reload to St. Anger (we're in the shithole) then 80's albums from Kill 'Em All to Justice chronologically (revisiting how they got there to the start of the run) to DM (Suicide and Redemption is a better title for me). He already listened to most if not complete Hardwired so there's no pressure to do that album.
It's great that you can appreciate the talent of this band and the great music here. I was fortunate enough to get to see them with Testament and Judas Priest after this album came out and when I was younger I could play this complete album on the drums! No double kick for my bass drum, just had to kick faster than usual. Awesome that you are experiencing some great music!
If your doing full albums now do Death- The sound of perseverance. Another great vid man! This is the band that turned me into a metal head and a musician, keep it up man!

Dave started taking a back seat when it came to leads on this record, with Marty picking up a lot of the slack, but when he did solo, he brought the fucking fire, as you can hear on Five Magics. Dave wrote in his book that he had a bit of a relapse (if memory serves) because he hadn't really been pushing himself in terms of lead guitar playing. Bringing in Marty I think both depressed him and inspired him once he pulled his head out of his ass.
Baron Rojo - Volumen Brutal Death - Sounds of Perseverance Morbid Angel - Covenant Anthrax - Among The Living Sepultura - Beneath The Remains Mago de Oz - Finisterra Slayer - Show No Mercy Megadeth - Peace Sells Pantera - Cowboys From Hell

Youthanasia is my favorite 90s Megadeth album very Underrated
Sadly and Addicted to Chaos means a lot to me it has a Personal meaning and signification to me takes me back... Lol
Anyways
Hail Megadeth
Yesss! Addicted to Chaos is such an amazing song! Criminally underrated too.
The Whole album of Youthanasia is amazing, my 2nd fave behind Rust in Peace. Would make for a great entire album reaction.
"The Sienfeld theme's rebellious older brother" is about the biggest complement you can give a piece of music.
Alex. I grew up listening to hip hop till hybrid theory from linkin park came out when i was in 6th grade. From there i dabbled in rock here and there till i came upon this album. Rust in peice changed my life and for the better. You rock bro doing this reaction to this album!!
Definitely gotta do ...And Justice For All if you react to another album bro
Yes yes yes one of the best Metallica albums
AJFA was the very first cd I ever owned. Justice and RTL are my favorites of all Metallica albums. RTL was the first of their albums I owned, on cassette. lol
Dude it was my first owned CD too haha, I jammed to it in my room over and over when I was like 10 lol
Nah, Cowboys From Hell would be a ton better to react to.
11DNA11 - CFH is a great album, but Vulgar is better. imho
I'm grinning watching you experiencing this album for the first time. Love seeing your joy which we Megadeth fans have felt for years. This album is 28 years old and it hasn't aged one bit. \m/ \m/
This is one of the greatest metal albums of all time.
One of the greatest albums ever made period.
HEYitzED people underrate this album it’s ridiculous
THE* greatest metal album of all time
The**
Poison was the cure, really underrated song
Dream Theater - Live Scenes from New York
Pink Floyd - Dark side of the moon
Metallica - Master of Puppets
System of a Down - Toxicity
Slipknot - Vol 3 Subliminal verses
There you have something considering the bands and reaction you have done.
I'm a huge fan of prog, please do live scenes from new york, great album, great musicians, great energy, great history, believe in me when I say that will be a true eargasm.
regards from Chile!!!
He has a rick pfp ignore him. He said no to DT so his opinion is invalid
Train Of Thought
The Wall
Ride the Lightning
sure

Tornado of Souls is their greatest song on their greatest album. Listening to this when it was released was amazing. And yes you can love both bands
You need to react to more Pantera bro. Dimebag's solos touch your soul, I swear to dog.
Now I am having a DOPE ASS day! Thanks to you Alex
I'm so looking forward to part 3 let's get it Alex
Saaame
@@MsFrostitute yeahhhhh!
Poison Was The Cure is one of my favorites off this album. I love how it starts out a little slower with that ominous bass riff, but then the drums pick up and it goes full warp speed. Absolutely blew my mind the first time I heard it.
If you like this, Countdown to Extinction basically picks up right where this album leaves off.
And continues on for Youthanasia and Cryptic Writings.
No love for United Abominations? That album has some good tracks. I personallu enjoyed U.A
Loooove countdown and youthanasia! Masterpieces!
@@edgarcardiel0272 United and Endgame are phenomenal.
Eh? It's a completely different style of music.
Hahaha this is THE BEST REACTION VIDEO I HAVE EVER SEEN !!!
Please do a Megadeth Marathon :)
React to Cowboys from hell by pantera. You won’t be let down
Album is 5.5/10 honestly
Bad Omen gtfo
Bad Omen
Wait what? It's the best Pantera album by far. It was so far ahead of it's time, that it's not even funny.
@@11DNA11 it's alright. Nothing too special
@@brandonchurch2094
Really? So whats you're idea of a better album. This I want to hear.
This album is a fuggin MASTERPIECE!!!!!!!!!
Marty Friedman's solos are always so tasty!
Alex Hefner i would like you to meet Marty Friedman on lead guitar. If you like that you should check out Cacophony the band Marty was in before Megadeth and Marty`s partner in crime in Cacophony ....the legendary Jason Becker !!!
Marty was a beast on this album, but a lot of those solos are Dave as well
Legendary is an understatement for Jason Becker.
Alex you should make a Discord where we can submit recommendations and talk to eachother/recommend eachother good music
Thanks 🙂
Edit: you could make different chat rooms for different music genres
This.
Dudeeee this
that's a really good idea
AbnormalNico
Thanks 😁
Have a nice day
@@thomasoneill4386 No problem and you too ;3
Flawless album. Great to see Megadeth appreciation.
Oh, one of my favorite Megadeth albums of rare soundtrack songs and cover's called "Hidden Treasures!" Check that one out. 99 ways to die, angry again, Diadem's, go to hell! Great songs!!!
that is a very fun album, indeed. a bit of a hidden jewel to outsiders.
Shawn Shotaholic Dead
For a better plot: Black Album (we're the kings of the world so we do wtf you want) to Load/Reload to St. Anger (we're in the shithole) then 80's albums from Kill 'Em All to Justice chronologically (revisiting how they got there to the start of the run) to DM (Suicide and Redemption is a better title for me). He already listened to most if not complete Hardwired so there's no pressure to do that album.
Better yet listen to the first five and nothing else
i love every song on this album, every song is a god dammed masterpiece
REACT TO IRON MAIDEN - POWERSLAVE ALBUM
No.
YES!!! what the hell is your problem, that's litteraly a Gold album.
A Powerslave album reaction would be amazing!
Solid choice
Powerslave is the best iron maiden album
It's great that you can appreciate the talent of this band and the great music here.
I was fortunate enough to get to see them with Testament and Judas Priest after this album came out and when I was younger I could play this complete album on the drums! No double kick for my bass drum, just had to kick faster than usual. Awesome that you are experiencing some great music!
If your doing full albums now do Death- The sound of perseverance. Another great vid man! This is the band that turned me into a metal head and a musician, keep it up man!
Owen Isaacson this has to happen
Your "mouth open" reaction is exactly like the reaction I had as a teenager when this was released in 1990!!! Rust In Peace is my all time favorite album and a definite game changer in metal! Fantastic video!
Please react to Pantera - Vulgar Display of power or Cowboys From Hell (Album's ) and this song of pantera "Floods" Is Awesome Song With a Solo Epico and so fast!!!
Rust in Peace is the greatest metal album ever created and I’m prepared to die on that hill

@@Anthony-nk4ky nah
@@fragramtelm8178 man the guitars on that album are so mid

Dude this is pretty awesome! I think you should react to the entire Nightwish Wacken Open Air 2013 performance! You loved the one song, imagine how mind-blowing the whole performance would be!
If you like both Metallica and Megadeth as I do, may I suggest the album 'ride the lightning' by Metallica as your next album reaction
just scrolled the comment section... lots of requests for a pantera album NEXT!!!!!
Great reaction to the first whole album. I too have a suggestion: Queensrÿche - Operation Mindcrime. One of the best concept albums ever!
Hey Alex! You should react to
Accept “Stalingrad”
Saxon “Thunderbolt”
Overkill “The Years of Decay”,
Iced Earth “The Night of the Storm Rider”
Testament “The Legacy”
these are emblematic metal bands you have to liste too! You’ll thank us later!
React to "The Stage" by Avenged Sevenfold man! Doesn't have to be the whole album just the Main song!
The mind fuck in all this is Dave sings while playing all these crazy rhythm parts that would qualify as lead parts in many groups.
VULGAR DISPLAY OF POWER - PANTERA
He needs some Glamtera.. Early Vin and Dime.
Pantera was cool! But, not Megadeth cool!
Marty Friedman is the GOAT soloist...nuff said!
And justice for all and ride the lightning
Man, please, do a whole megadeth marathon, react to all the albuns!
Fucking great idea!!! MEGADETH IS MY COWBELL!!! I CAN'T GET ENOUGH MEGADETH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Facelift, or Dirt, by Alice in Chains...
FOR SURE!!!
Yes Alice In Chains is sooo underappreiciated
Facelift, yessss......
Facelift
Why not both?😉
This record is just metal royalty man.............its perfect. untouchable.....Rust in Peace is incredible!
Epica (consign to oblivion live at the zenith ) please ;)
Thanks for your review of this Album. Really brings back memories.
Opeth - blackwater park
@Arlindo Junior Oh fuck, nice choice!
Or OR Pale Communion because why tf not
Baron Rojo - Volumen Brutal
Death - Sounds of Perseverance
Morbid Angel - Covenant
Anthrax - Among The Living
Sepultura - Beneath The Remains
Mago de Oz - Finisterra
Slayer - Show No Mercy
Megadeth - Peace Sells
Pantera - Cowboys From Hell

Great reaction Alex....now you know what we already knew...Dave Mustaine is a genius!!!
Part 2!! Yes!! Been waiting all day to get off work and watch Bro! Dope as always!!
NEXT: Metropolis Pt.2, by Dream Theater
For real!!!
Amazing album but probably not the right introduction to dream theater
He’s already listened to Pull Me Under and Wither and a number of other prog songs. He’s definitely ready for Metropolis Pt. 2!
Gross why their radio songs? He's impressed with rust in piece so he needs some prog. Everyone does.
Jay Craft imo popular songs are the way to start off if you've never heard a band before, but if he's already heard pull me under and wither, than he should definitely listen to metropolis pt 2. Agreed, everybody should
Finally, someone reacts to Five Magics...the most underrated gem on Rust in Peace! Thank You Alex and keep those reactions coming Bro!
Good reaction for Tornado Of Souls. It's the best on this album
Love your reactions to this. Reminded me of when I listened to this album the first time. ❤️
Dude if you love when the instruments do the talking you need to react to The album Metropolis pt.2 By Dream Theater! The instruments are telling the story while the lyrics are conveying the details. You’ll be blown away by this concept album!!!
I am more than glad to see, that somebody who is doing react videos LIKES daves voice and Megadeth as a whole. And i must say, that i had really similar reaction, when first hearing album as the whole. Love your work and keep it up \m/
