A Social Experiment of the DBD Rep System (My Steam Profile Comments After 1 Year)

  • One year ago I curiously opened up my Steam profile's comment section to see if people legit leave comments of peoples profiles after matches of Dead By Daylight after seeing other profiles plagued with these "REP" comments (that were mostly negative).
What would be the results of my little 1 year social experiment of this DBD Rep System some players have adopted? Lets all look together.
As noted in the video the usernames of all players that commented on my page have be censored as they did not know of this and I don't want anyone to track down any of these users.
Before this video was published I deleted all the comments made on my profile and my comments section on Steam will be set to private so that no one will go to my profile to see who any of the people were or make new comments cause it has all been documented in this video.

I really enjoyed this, fair play for conducting this year long experiment ❤

I never concern myself with what others think of my playing. Never engage in end game chat. I just write 'ggs' and go next.

Fair. We all got our ways of dealing with EGC. I just try to be more positive with my EGC message before going to my next game.

Spooknjukes put it best when it comes to "genrushing" or "tunneling" as toxic play styles - he claims to look at other games the same way. When you spawn in while playing a battle Royale and can't find a weapon, the other players are hardly going to think "oh that player never found a weapon, I'll leave them alone and give them a chance" No. They're going to take advantage of it and eliminate the player, and that player proceeds to move on to the next game with no issue. The entitlement on both sides about play styles in dbd is ridiculous.

Granted that’s his perspective which he is valid in having. People can play a game however they like so long as it’s not something that ruins the fun of other players like cheating with hacking tools like I pointed out in the video. My playing is definitely not of the typical way or optimal way of playing or even winning but it’s how I want to play. Heck how I do play has made me lose quite a bit and I can take an L so long as the end game chat is civil about it and not go “lol ez u r a noob”
