Mate -You just sealed the deal for me. I'm picking up a new Rove DL in a few days!

Hi There, thanks for the “not review” of the Rove ST. I have one in steel, yes it’s great, often use it on road training trips as it’s so much safer. If I get pushed off the road it can handle the road edges safely, and then there are gravel patches here and there. Being much older the arthritis hands look for the DI2 simplicity of my road bike, so I am thinking of 1 X SRAM ASX upgrade. No idea where to start. Chain, levers, rear cassette and rear derailleur, would like some lower gears for big hills. Changed to tubeless but the rims Leaked at weld for a while but all good now. Regards Ron

Aieee normalize that audio! 3:14 blew my eardrums out haha.
It looks like a nice bike for sure. How is the sram 1x11 working for you?
Let's say I strap a back and front rack to this bike, would the gearing go low enough to climb comfortably?

Dunno sorry ... I'm planning an overnight trip with it but I think it depends on terrain, fitness/strength, and capability. I typically find whatever gears I have I want another at the top and the bottom. Top gear rides comfortably at 40km and I can spin alright at 50 so if I was worried if swap the chain ring.

That's the 56cm frame? Any chance you can post how tall you are and your true inseam? I'm 6'1 and 34 inch true inseam and debating between the 56cm and the 58cm (which seems to be bigger than the size suggests )

I'm 6 foot and have the 56cm frame that I chose over the 58 (I could have had either). Because I come from MTB'ing I prefer a more upright position. There is still seat tube to put the seat higher...

Oh and I'm pretty sure my inseam is 34 (just don't hold me to that 😝)

Hey James, did you end up deciding on either size? I'm the same measurements as you and tossing up between the two. Thanks!

@@scottpaterson3311 Hi Scott. I spent a lot of time at the local store going between the 56cm and the 58cm. The end result is that I didn't buy either of them. The 56cm felt a bit too small and the 58cm felt very big. I also wasn't a huge fan of the 650b wheel size as I prefer 700c. It's too bad as I've owned Kona bikes for many years but this one just wouldn't work for me. I'll probably buy the new All City Space Horse that just got released with disc brakes and thru axles as the 58cm size fits me perfectly (just like my previous Kona Paddy Wagon and Kona Tonk). I should mention that I've had a lumbar fusion so I'm quite picky about my riding position as I don't like to put a lot of stress on my lower back. If I wasn't so cautious about my back, I probably would have been fine on either of them.

@@pacmancalgary Thanks a lot. Great info. I went with the Kona Sutra Ltd in 56 and really happy with it so far! Enjoy!

I'm a nudge over 6ft (not quite 6'1") and have the 56cm. I was between sizes and find mine great. I do prefer to be more upright though (I'm most keen on mountain biking) so went the smaller end of the suggested sizes. I guess if you prefer to sit more upright then that would be the size. If you have a road background then you'd probably prefer the larger size and being a little more stretched out. FWIW, I bought mine unseen because of shops being shut with COVID19 lockdown 😢
