Nice walk around! One of these just popped up for sale used locally. Very close to messaging the guy as I’ve been on the market for a new bike that can take a slightly wider wheel for our local rough roads.
Thanks Kevin! I've done a few more upgrades since and have came fairly close to picking up a new bike a few times. But honestly, this bike does everything quite well, albeit a bit on the heavier side, I have no complaints. Even the Claris groupset shifts well and is perfectly adequate for the riding I do.
Interestingly enough, I had actually brought this up with my bike fitter and asked if I would have benefitted from sizing down. He assured me the 52 fitted me well and sizing down could cause issues with a shorter head tube or more pronounced toe overlap. I replaced the original stem with one that was 10mm shorter. but that was about it.
I'm 5'6" and also went for the 50cm. The 52 as mentioned runs large. Minimal difference in the reach and stack figures, so I went with the 50, fits perfect, with more seat tube showing, I think I'm running a 110 stem, but I have it set up for comfy road riding.
These have quick release axles. This was my first road/gravel bike and it performed very well for my needs, no complaints. I recently threw the stock wheelset and 37c tires back on and made this my dedicated gravel bike.
Thank you!! I just ordered mine on sale a nice grey colour… excited as it’s my first brand new bike. Online everyone mentions to get a Thru axle and not QR but in a budget so it’s a hard find.
Hey boss, Noticed that you had the cheaper Al version. Did you happen to test drive the normal Rove? I'm not a hardcore biker by any means and am looking to have a similar clipless setup like yours. Im located in Canada and the cost difference between the two is pretty substantial. $900CAD. Was wondering your thoughts on it and if you're still happy with your purchase?
Hi there, I have not test rode the Rove steel version, I'm sure there's pros and cons with either one that ultimately come down to personal preference as well. However, I do still own my Rove AL 700 and am happy with it. No issues to speak ok and a very solid entry level bike I must say, the frame is covered by a lifetime warranty as well, which is a huge plus.
Not too sure how well it does with touring or fully loaded up. But no complaints with what I use it for; mostly road and sometimes light gravel riding.

She’s a beauty!
Thanks!
Dude! I have the 2020 Kona Rove NRB DL. We're the same height. But I got the 50cm. I can't believe you fit that bike!

You got an IG?

@@keir91177 ya the 50cm is perfect for me too!
Hello! Would you recommend it for daily commuting (35k)? Thank you!
Hi great overview! I am also interested in getting the rove AL - Do these have Quick Release or Thru Axle? and how do they perform? Many thanks

@@prabsk9769 Anytime! There's several models under the Rove lineup, I believe only the AL models (650 and 700) are QR, all the others are thru axles.
Nice bike mate!
thanks mate

thinking of getting this since its the only damn bike available lmao, you think its a good choice for long touring with a lot of extra weight on it?
