I'm glad Case let you use this thing and review it. Usually, when I watch a video from a manufacturer, I listen for the stats/specs only. I try to filter out the "fluff" of why their machine is the best on the market. I trust a true end user's opinion way more than the people trying to sell me something. Can't wait to hear your thoughts when the trial period is over.
From the advertising cost and tactical selling feature I'm inclined to believe that there is no better way to do it than here or with like-minded professionals. I'm guessing they know their machine is a little beast improperly thawed out in R&D phases. Something else dealerships like to employ is the tactic of getting the prospective buyer to drive a vehicle. Their chances of selling a vehicle to someone who drives a vehicle increases exponentially above the 50% 60% mark. I think for them it would be a tax write-off and they capitalize off of three different playing fields. Got to admit this is a beast of a machine so far that we've seen!
That thing was very impressive! I've been an electrician for 23 years and I consider myself lucky to come up in a time with massive growth in technology and convenience when it comes to tools of the trade however I have so much respect for the old-timers who did just as good a job with far less.
Great to see you & Jerry tag-teaming this morning! I sat here with my mouth open is disbelief as Matt loaded the Minotaur! I have a Bobcat 853 with a big bucket, and it wouldn't come close to how quickly and how well the Minotaur heaped its bucket. Granted, I've got wheels and you've got steel tracks, but WOW WOW WOW, like a knife thru warm butter that bucket was full! Thanks, Mike & Jerry! Lee
All I can say about the Minotaur is "I want one! That thing is awesome! Thanks to you and CASE for letting us see equipment like this in real world situations! Can you imagine a fleet of these being used in rescue or cleanup situations in places where a tornado or other natural disaster has hit?
I could watch all of you operate. Good camaraderie you guys have. It is a joy to work with a good crew. I really miss that part of my life. Y’all havagudun.
It’s good to see Jerry back on the channel. You have created a lot more tillable ground on your farm and taking out all those trees along the ditch will make those beavers move somewhere else. I enjoyed this video very much.
Wow the 550 is off to a good start as far as I'm concerned. 6 buckets to load the 8500, that's just mind blowing. In Dozer mode it made short time on cleaning up from what I could see through the " Dirty Windows " .....lol. Curious on fusage tho and would love to see what Jerry's opinion is of it.I was shocked when Matt jumped out and said Mike you gotta try this!! I'm still wary about the swing door tho. Man that's a nice piece of equipment!! Keep up the good work Mike. 😀😀
I watched a couple sections twice because I could not believe how well that machine did. I hope once testing is complete your in a position to get one.
The thumb on a excavator is one of the best attachments you can have,I made one for my backhoe after loading sawlogs with the front end loader for years, works great in demo jobs, picking stones, whatever.
Michael I just love to watch your channel you and the guys work hard to make Gods land more beauitful keep u the great work and I can’t wait to see the LT,Dan dump done and working
Try this scenario Mike…excuse Mrs D.P… my goodness, your hair looks lovely today…. you know that problem we had with that Old skid steer? ….. Just make sure you are wearing a hard hat ok… That 550 is a beast that would look great with some extra stickers on it…
Wow you did a bit of everything in this video. That new pusher steer is impressive in it's versatility. Love seeing Jerry again. Great video DP. Thank you. 💪
A good point of the Minataur is the user health, with the cab you are out off the dust and with the air conditioning you have the best of both worlds, warm in the winter and cool in the summer. Where as with the D4 you freeze and the summer sweat, whilst breathing in the dust and engine fumes
I still can't believe that thing is a beast love the new 550 Minotaur the lift height is awesome it seems to go a lot higher then a regular skid steer can't wait to see Jerry in it keep up the videos DP love them
One of the best video's I have seen on how it actually does final grading. I was impressed on how fast you were able to grade out with it, for such a short period of time running it. I have been thinking more and more about one of these. I have a 450B which is very capable, but sometimes not enough a$$.
Starting to look good Mike. There will be a lot of extra planting acreage by the time you are done. A little birdie tells me the Minotaur will find a new home in your garage.
I started to say that "little" machine but after seeing what it can do it works much bigger then it looks. I think it did a great job with both the pushing and bucket. Looking forward to Jerry's thoughts. Nice work.
Great video! Congratulations to Matt on how he easily scooped up a huge bucket of dirt with the Minatuar on his first time! Your farm will gain several acres of useable land by the dozer work you’re doing. The reshaping job looks great, so far! The finished tillable field will be awesome!
Make white paint marks across the ripper & mount centred on the hole then you can line them up visually. Also put one on the front of the ripper blade at the top of the mount so you can see it from the cab
@@DirtPerfect ,you know if you turn one ripper shank around and take the other ones off, it works incredible for ripping stumps out. The old-timers used to do that with the D 8+ D9's.
That thing is gonna be a beast for you if you decide to keep it. Going to be interesting watching how it can change your work and benefit you especially on finish work.
Looks like the challenge is the porpoising from the shorter wheelbase. Just an impression from the peanut gallery. Love the power and height-reach of the bucket.
Mike here's an idea someone with your smarts and experience may have already thought of meaning because you don't use it there is some reason it wouldn't work or other obstacle, but I thought I would run it by you anyway. Your comment about just running the ripper teeth into the ground and leaving them that way for easy reinstallation used to be a relatively common practice with the big ripper teeth on Cat D9's in the Australian Opal fields. But watching you fuss with installing ripper teeth on your 850 got me thinking there must be a safer and easier way to do it which caused the idea to occur, so here goes. If you had a rack set up so ripper teeth could be lowered into it off the tractor all at once and stored there when not in use, it could hold them so they were always in ideal alignment for reinstallation on the 850 or whatever other dozer. All you would need to do then would be to drop the rack holding the ripper teeth on a trailer then back the trailer under the ripper frame on the dozer and lower the ripper frame on the dozer until it contacted stops on the rack holding the teeth. It might be a bit of bother setting it all up, but the stops should ensure the pin holes on the teeth and in the frame of the dozer were aligned along with everything else for easy solo installation then you simply insert the retaining pins, lift the teeth out of the rack and off you could go!
On camera seems to run just like a small dozer, I can see it replacing 30% of the D4 workload and about 15-20% of your skid steer's work load. I suppose we'll see what the fuel is like over time. Pretty cool machine Mike, I'd like to see that ripper in action.
I love how high it lifts, being able to get material into a tri-axle means it can load anything common that i'm aware of. Given, I'm a tree guy, not construction or hardscaping. I love their excitement checking it out.
Morning DP , the start of this video reminded me of a song that goes " just one look was all it took " , in the case of you and Matt it was " just one scoop was all it took " , the look on your faces was priceless ! Jerry owes it to himself to at least give it a try . You missed one thing when you were talking about the experience being more like a dozer with the controls etc. The steel tracks make it sound like a dozer running instead of a skid steer .
Good video, Sir. I like the Minotaur !! And i can see it replacing 2 machines a skid-steer and small dozer !!! Your friend from COLD and Snowy Michigan calling for 3-5" today
That little skid dozer is kinda cool. But man you need a road grader. We do all sorts of waterways in farm ground. Ruffin it in with a dozer and fine-tune it with a grader.
There are dozer operators and there are dozers operators………then there’s Jerry. Don’t know him, never met him, not likely too, but I love him. A man of few words, but strong actions. 😂🇬🇧👍👍👍
Honestly what got me thinking the Case was a good machine is how without weeks and weeks of hours running it; you talked Kleeman through running it well enough he could run it and get the results he wanted and not break anything. Not to poke fun at him, I've worked with people who if you told them something was bulletproof, they would have it broken in less than five minutes. But since he doesn't have the seat time you have in any machine; how easy it is for you to teach him says a lot about the machine's design and operation.
I've got a 210 lc7 2006 with 4000hours. Seems like yours new 210 got plenty of power nice machine love and wish my thumb was a progressive type. Good videos keep it up
Project coming along nicely, you and Jerry are killing it.the case looks like it would be beneficial with all the different jobs it can perform.visibility is looking good if you could see thru the dirty glass.hint,hint.getting Jerry to run that case would by itself make a great video.y’all just keep doing what y’all doing and carry on 👍👍👍😎😎😎
Next, once you get the hang of the Minotaur, you need to run it side by side with Jerry on the d4. No one will critique your abilities compared to Jerry on finishing.
I'm glad you quit work in time for Date Night... If the Misses isn't happy it could make buying a new piece of equipment a little difficult... Hahaha!!! Great video... Big thumbs up... 😎👍
You need to paint a pair of lips on the side of the dump truck box. You get so close you could lean forward and kiss the box. With the C-frame for the dozer blade, a high hinge for truck loading does not impact dozer functions. Great feature A backhoe attachment with a C-frame for stability would be an interesting attachment. Skid steer backhoe attachments are just not stable nor strong enough for serious digging. It would blow away a Mecalac MCR for an operator with just one piece of equipment. You get to play with all of the best toys.
Jerry is a darling: if you rip it up too much he'll just straighten it up again ❤️
Really impressed with the versatility of that 550. And the capacity of that bucket and lift on that thing, wow!

Some things don’t come across in the camera but yours and Matt’s excitement about the Minotaur bucket work sure did!
The Minotaur is a mini terror for versatility! It’s fun to watch you put it to the test!

Thanks for sharing your testing of that machine, it looks pretty interesting, and the "Swiss Army Knife" equipment idea is getting my attention.
I can't wait for your final thoughts but what a great opportunity you have. Seems like you are adjusting well to it. Stay safe
Mike smile is almost as bright as the sun I think it's a great addition to the fleet great video thanks Mike and Jerry
From that first scoop of dirt I was impressed with that Minotaur! Good gravy that bad noun just wants to work!

Matt needs to change his vehicle placement, behind you is unproductive.
I have a CASE TV450B 90 H.P and love that machine. The pushing power for it is just insane. I can only imagine the Minotaur!!
Morning, good to see Jerry back
I watched a couple sections twice because I could not believe how well that machine did. I hope once testing is complete your in a position to get one.

👍 Looks good man. Looking forward to D4 comparisons on fuel usage, ease of transport, etc.
It lifted that load up over that Tandem like I never before saw a Skid Steer Lift. I’m tongue tied. It lifted high
Try this scenario Mike…excuse Mrs D.P… my goodness, your hair looks lovely today…. you know that problem we had with that Old skid steer? ….. Just make sure you are wearing a hard hat ok…
That 550 is a beast that would look great with some extra stickers on it…
I think that’s going to be the key word for the Minotaur. “versatile”
Wow you did a bit of everything in this video. That new pusher steer is impressive in it's versatility. Love seeing Jerry again. Great video DP. Thank you. 💪
It would be great to see let's dig 18 run this also
I could see that becoming part of your fleet! That would be great for setting up basements
Glad you are out there to keep Jerry informed on dozing techniques! Minotaur pretty powerfull for a skid-steer!👍
Great job running the Minotaur guys
Wow looking good so far Mike. Can not wait to see Jerry using it. He will love it.

Goooooood morning everybody!
I wasn't crazy about the Minotaur at first but I have changed my mind, that thing is a beast and can do so many things with it!
I still can't believe that thing is a beast love the new 550 Minotaur the lift height is awesome it seems to go a lot higher then a regular skid steer can't wait to see Jerry in it keep up the videos DP love them
That new minotaur looks like a keeper versatile machine
Minotaur looks surprisinvly stable even while pushing and carrying. If it feels like it looks, Case has a winner.

That is a hell of a unit to change from blade to bucket and the power you need that .Well done guy's
Now here’s something funny, you almost have something from every single big name equipment manufacturer. Your definitely not brand bias.
Starting to look good Mike. There will be a lot of extra planting acreage by the time you are done. A little birdie tells me the Minotaur will find a new home in your garage.

Hay Michael jerry is one heck of and operated love watching him work
Yes, words of wisdom by Jerry! Love it!
The MINOTAUR is a tonka toy on steroids. The new kid on the block. Very impressive to say the least. Love the videos. 👍👍👍

NUMBER 1 FAN
Great job running the excavator Mr Dirt Perfect
Eeven more intrigued ! having one machine that is that versatile would definitely be $$$$. Gotta love it when a machine pays for itself 👍.
In my opinion case with this machine has revolutionized the way to see the skid steer. A truly strong and versatile machine.
The 850 sounds so good.
Mike here's an idea someone with your smarts and experience may have already thought of meaning because you don't use it there is some reason it wouldn't work or other obstacle, but I thought I would run it by you anyway.

Great video DP. Ole case did pretty great too. Can't wait to see Jerry operate it and hear what he says.
I had to put my sunglasses on because Mike was smiling so much my eyes 👀 burned
Finish work looks really good. Hope you get to really give the Dl550 Minotaur a good work out.
And also I think you did pretty darn good with that bulldozer on that minotaur

That was the reaction from Jerry I expected, it took almost a year before he'd get in the 850J and close the doors.
