  • It's really not fair to call the Minotaur DL550 half dozer, and half CTL. This is a machine designed and built to do both-and do them well.

Charging the customer a dozer rate for this machine is going to lift some eyebrows.

Great overview of the machine but what about performance on the slopes? What's the steepest before rollover with rippers and without tracking in slopes? How about side rollover tipping angle? The machine is 18k but how does the center of gravity compare to a actual dozer undercarriage that's wider and longer?

It’s to big for a small contractor that can’t afford it and the big companies will not stop using dozers and loaders. Maybe land cleaning would be a good fit with a mulching head

I love the idea of this thing. But I wonder if they will offer a "forestry package" with reinforced and protected areas for using a forestry mulcher/cutter. My experience has only been in a Bobcat T870 with the forestry protection package while using a drum mulcher. And yes, you sometimes get hard hits on the front glass door. VERY hard hits sometimes. And I've been extremely thankful of that super thick reinforced glass/plastic/whatever material that was used, in that upgraded door. As well as the extra steel on top of the cab. Sometimes a limb will fall onto the cab. You're happy that you are protected. So...does Case offer this with the Minotaur?

Look at the specs shown at 2:19
      Only standard flow, 20gpm
That’s not enough for drum mulcher

Dude that Bobcat front glass must be bulletproof. I've hit it twice while raking brush. Not with wood shards.. with stems. May as well have hit it with a huge hardwood mallet.

Great informative walkthrough of a very interesting machine.
However, as a non american viewer, i would really like if all numbers and units in the specs thats being listed also is shown in metric units, atleast in a smaller font next to the imperial units.

Tried asking case about it in Australia but no comment, So just wondering if it’s coming to Australia, ?
As it would fill a massive gap for me.
Really like it, will it support a forestry Mulcher or not. ?

I think this machine will change the way small companies buy their machines. Now the big question is what sort of price tag is this going to come with? My guess is $180,000 in todays market.

@@CMLandClearing I hope it works out and you guys love the machine. Hopefully you can post some videos of it and your opinion of the machine. And yes that price point is great considering a well optioned CAT 299D3 will come in close to that cost and I believe this machine will blow the CAT out of the water.

Why have a skidloader that big and heavy shit you'd have to have a semi and lowboy to haul it properly cost to much as well I'd just get a refurbished CATERPILLAR 953 OR 963 with a 4in1 bucket with rippers on the back do twice as much with it. Says it's a 2in1 machine so I'll go with the 4in1 CATERPILLAR and you don't even have to change or mess with the bucket to blade change 953 963 or 973 my choice but cool man

Awesome machine I think that Machine ask great potential to bridge the gap between a CTL and a mini Dozer.
Unfortunately since it's made by Case I won't ever buy one.
Especially after the treatment I got. Case will never get my business. I got better treatment from John Deere and Caterpillar and New Holland then I ever got from Case. There's currently 3 Companies I'll never do business with and that's Case, Bobcat or Kobota. JCB and Komatsu I don't know enough about them.

I apologize to anyone who likes skid steers in advance of my comments. This CASE thing has the same exact problem as every other skid steer. You sit too low in it, and the visability to the sides and rear is terrrible. I have a CAT skid steer with rubber tracks. I hate it. It is near dangerous to back up on a jobsite compared to an actual dozer or real track loader that you can see all around you. It never runs right due to that stupid Perkins engine instead of an actual industrial engine made by CAT. Plus they are weak weak. Sure you can attach 1000 different implements to the front of it, but most of them don't work very well.
The bucket on them is too small. They don't hold very much dirt. The rubber treads wont get the traction of steel tracks, and they get torn up if you aren't on smooth grass. They don't dig well at all. The grapple bucket is pretty nice, but an excavator with a thumb does about 10x as much work. Pallet forks are nice, but you can't see what you are lifting, and you can't get out of the cab with the load lifted. Some kind of bushhog or mulcher might be good but not compared to a real ag tractor. You think you can load trucks? Please. Maybe one of those little dump trailers you tow behind your pickup truck. You will be looking through the ceiling trying to load a tandem dump truck, and it will take about 50 buckets full and 45 minutes. A skid steer is a joke compared to a dedicated machine like a dozer.
