I’m glad you showed the beauty of this awesome plugin at a slower tempo. 🎹♥️ I just downloaded session percussionist at half price, but I’m getting this anyway. 2 things that justify it for me are the different sounds that session percussionist doesn’t have, and drag and drop. 🎹♥️
Tip: use your mouse to play a preset by clicking on the triangle to the left of the Preset window. This way the preset plays continuously until you hit the triangle again. So you do not have to hold C4 all the time. Wishlist: a couple of keys on thekeyboard to start and stop the presets.
Great run through video of features and sounds! There's a lot of content and editing possibilities with this library. Bought yesterday morning. Thanks for doing this video Simeon.
Thanks for demo sir! I heard that it doesn’t have option to drag and drop the midi pattern into the DAW. Is it true? So how you going to have it in the DAW?
Ryan, it’s my pleasure. So, it has been a while since doing this video but basically how I approach this is performing it like an instrument just as you would a piano, bass, strings, but this time you are playing the pattern elements. You would record the trigger notes in your DAW as a midi track, then you have the flexibility to go back and edit those triggers. You can also use multiple instances of Percussion Factory to create more complex rhythm stacks, even using different kits. I will pull this back up to refresh my memory and see if I might be able to discover a few more ideas. Thanks so much for watching,
QUESTION: Do we need to change the tempo in our DAWS (Cakewalk) each time we add a new groove in P.F., I can't see anywhere in P.F. to sync the tempo with the DAW, if I add new grooves with other previous ones, they are in different time scales?
I know - me too. I want to see how to accomplish the MIDI Drag and Drop that Shake 2 would give (Shimmer, Shake Strike 2 also has preroll alignment for tambourine & shaker sounds, and 160 of those kinds of sounds included - but this one has more variety of types of instruments). Building rhythms takes stacking short sequences, and performing it and recording it that way is sort of too random in a lot of my contexts. I'm also thinking of picking up zero G elements cinematic rhythms.
The instrument should follow the BPM of your DAW and you can sync the parts in your DAW's MIDI editor as you trigger the patterns and sounds from your keyboard. Thanks for watching.
Hi Simon, nice run through on Percussion Factory. I'm having a blast with it. As to adding your own samples, it doesn't seem to work if you try to drag from the explorer panel in falcon, but dragging from any other file browser, like windows explorer, seems to work seamlessly. If you figure out how to do that from inside Falcon definitely post that up. Thanks!
@ Simeon - while the sounds are amazing, I’m not clear on whether the VST can be used for one shot purpose? Is there an option to do so and not have everything sequenced in a preset?
Malcolm, yes, you can trigger one-shots using the lower key range, I think I show this at one point. This way you can trigger the patterns and also program your live playing in your DAW. Not having one shot triggers would definitely be a deal breaker so I am glad they included this feature. Also the park pattern sequencers are very flexible as well so you can have the best of both worlds. Thanks for watching. Joyfully!
MIDI Drag and Drop can apparently be substituted for. (it doesn't have it like Shake Strike 2 has from 'in session audio'). Someone mentioned you can accomplish this using the Falcon Script Editor. Can you show us how to do this?
I am not too familiar with how Falcon works but will definitely check it out. Also are you talking about bringing user samples into Percussion Factory? I will also see if I can check out Shake Strike 2.
@@PraiseTracks My understanding from one of the comments is that it is possible by dragging from Windows File Explorer - I wasn't too concerned with that although it is a nice feature. I was impressed with how you got into a Latin Groove like that - it always seems like a hard style to come back to.
Oliver, you would record a MIDI track where you are playing the notes to trigger Percussion Factory, it could be as simple as drawing a note in the piano roll view of your DAW and stretching it out to the desire legth. You would then bounce the MIDI track to an audio track. You could the. export the resulting audio track out as a WAV or MP3.
Percussion Factory gets its BPM from your DAW and follows it, that way you can control the tempo mapping from the Studio One timeline. Thanks for watching.
@@Promidi for that purpose I have another good plugin. But know I want to pay a money and everything is there! I don't have a time for going deeper than presets

Great feedback Ruud, thanks so much.
Kinda running our of options with these type of sounds on Addictive Drums2. $99. for Percussion factory is cool choice. THX for cool run-through ! ✌🏻
My pleasure, this was fun to discover. Joyfully!

My pleasure Christian, thanks for the kind support.
this is cool, love the total rand preset including names
Really nice smooth touch on the keys and a facile mind...thank you

I'm curious how this compares to Shimmer, Shake, Strike 2? I'd love to see you play with that one too!

@@PraiseTracks Thanks. It seems to have been a glitch kept it from doing what it should have.

Can you do anything in Falcon or is Percussion Factory more or less locked?
@@cedricmi You can use falcons abillities to add more effects and modulations. but you cant really change the script I think

How do you record your loop? I literally just want the loop I've made as WAV or MP3. Anybody know how this is done?

@@PraiseTracks Thanks a lot for that tip, i did't know how to record patterns in KONKRETE3 and I thought that it is useless :D

Good engine but the sounds are only of the real world percussion! Would be great to see also unusual stuff, to be kinda 50/50 = real/unreal
You can import your own samples.

That would be a really cool expansion idea for this engine. I would think that could be something we might see sometime in the future.
it has some nice techno sounds... you can find them into processed / modern preset directory
@@sjcongo yes, but its not something to talk about...
