    Amazing drum machine with a really powerful sequencer. Love the Pan and Pitch editing and the ease of exporting the automation. I’m actually amazed that you read so little about it, as it has been out there for quite some years. It covers everything I need and much more! I agree on the page limitations.. do something about that UVI!

    Thx this was really useful. I’ve owned Drum Designer for a little while but been lazy and failed to take the time to learn it properly. Your overview proved to me that my laziness has meant I’ve overlooked a great percussion tool…

      It's a great plugin. And if you spend some time making a kit that you like, routing that multi out and saving it as a preset. You can get so much mileage with it. I actually made a new kit today and been making a new track with it.

    Nice video. I got tired of messing with stuff too plus UVI pluins are always top shelf soundwise. Agree on more pages.

    I have been looking for a latest review on this one, am very happy to see your video, thanks for a nice video. I struggled to get it work for me so far, but I am open to learn it and adapt it into my work flow. Just wondering are the sounds on par with the greatest like those of MPC, NI Machine and Arturia ? Very eager to know your thoughts on this.
    Thanks Jon.

      It takes a little getting used to and familiarizing yourself with it but once you do, you basically have an entire drum work shop at your fingertips and a sequencer. Take a few days and really play around with it. Build your own kit and just have fun with it.
      The only thing I wish they would add, is more patterns per instance of the plugin, but thats about it.
      It sounds really good. I started using it almost exclusively for my music after I got it.
      I used to synthesize every drum piece for almost everysong. But this is so much faster and you get good results too.

      @@jonaudio Thank you Jon, I am little bit worried about its sound quality when compared to MPC and likes. Thank you Jon.

    Hi Jon, I think I remember seeing this when it first launched and thought it sounded and looked pretty useful as well. Your demo certainly shows off a lot of the cool features, and it's definitely something I would consider getting. One question - is it possible to send each drum component to its own bus or output channel for mixing purposes? For example, NI Battery 4 has 16 output channels (I think) to route things to, which makes it easy to have different processing on kicks, snares, percussion etc. Other than that, I really like the look of this, so thanks for putting this together 🙂

      you're very welcome my man! It's def a cool tool to use, I've had such a great time with it since I got it. and it sounds really good too! It is possible to do a multi out if you want to send each channel to its own fader and do your own processing if that's the workflow you prefer.

    When I watched the video I got an impression it’s a drum synth but then I read the specs: they still ship gigabytes of samples. So it’s mainly a workflow plugin and a sampler.

    • @jonaudio
      @jonaudio  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      yeah its an interesting workflow they came up with. I do really like how meticulous you can get with it and how the main tools you'd need to make the sound you want are there.

      The interface takes a little getting used to, but even using it like you do for getting good sounds out of it is great too. You could spend some time and sample out some really creative kits

  • @VovaHook

    Thank you! And how I can convert all of the tracks - kick, snare etc. - to audio tracks in my DAW?

    • @jonaudio
      @jonaudio  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      What you could do is route the track that drum designer is on to another audio track and record it that way, drum by drun.
      If you want to have different velocities for your samples, you could program a few midi notes in your piano roll/midi editor with different velocities and record those to use in your sampler.
      One you got those recorded, make sure to label them and organize them into a folder for easy access

    • @buckycore

      So my current drum collection is: Drum Designer, BeatBox collection, Prime 8, Drumulation and Super-7 because I'm a sucker for one key band in a box🤣🤣🤣, especially with their 80s synthpop beats (why reinvent the wheel? HA!) I love them all, and they all serve different purposes and sounds..drum designer is the one I find to be the most contemporary and sexy sounding. The level of detail for sound design in each drum is mind melting. But everything sounds so unique to the point of being weird at times (which I fucking LOVE!) I made a Bosa nova beat using some strange sounding drum sounds and MAN! it was amazing.

    • @buckycore
      @buckycore ปีที่แล้ว

      Speaking of drums, I'm determined to make Drumaxx my bitch. Like, out of the box, it sounds cheesy. But I love cheesy drums, as I'm always using this drum patch I made using old school Casio keyboard drums. But Drumaxx is it's own weird style of cheese. However,.pushing that compressor on all the drum pads and adding some distortion or saturation on things. And blam, shit got snappy and super funky. I love all forms of drum plugins
