    I'd also add not overspending on the RAM and SSD as well. Personally, I've had good results with budget brands like TeamGroup, Patriot, Silicon Power, and Solidigm. If you're on a budget, you do not need to spend a sizable chunk of your budget on a Samsung SSD or Corsair RAM. Unless you know what to look for, they don't perform any faster or better than their budget-focused contemporaries.

      ADATA has been good for me for months.

      Agreed! Just get an SSD that has either DRAM or HMB to ensure good performance

    My number one budget saving tip for building a PC, especially for non-developed countries - is to buy the parts online. Here in South-East Asia, most of the cheapest deals you can get are from online stores. Lazada, Shopee, Aliexpress and to some extent Amazon (parts sold with free-shipping and no-tax deposits). Aliexpress have good CPU prices. These online stores offers vouchers or discounts like free shipping or a % off if you pay a certain total price. We don't have brick-and-mortar stores that offer good price/discounts like MIcrocenter. Just do the homework of checking the online stores' feedback to avoid potential scam.

      true lol, my mistake was i was a newb and do not know how to build one. I asked for a recommendation and bought a built pc only to realize i can have this rig cheaper if i bought every parts with discounts separately

    Case that comes with decent RGB fans saves money, although buying a casd without fans and then adding 3 thermalright fans is also an option as many cheap cases jave pretty bad fans so I also look for review of cases before I buy for xomments about the fans.
    Avoid going for super flash top gen nvme drives. While I always go for nvme I stick to a reasonable priced one.

      IME Thermalright and Arctic are excellent budget options for air cooling. Heck, even Thermalright's AIOs are pretty decent and they don't cost a fortune.

    agree 100%. I'm so tired of people that want to maximize their budget go with completely wrong parts like a beefed up motherboard with a entry level chip or take a more expensive 4060 ti for the same price or a little bit more 4070. Also people going for example asus cause they think it's way better than a palit.
    in my pc is a Palit 3080ti gamerock and it's amazing and was the cheapest at the time and performs just fine. Moral of the story is don't overspend if you want to maximize your performance

      well good for you if you find store that sells 4070 same price or little bit less than 4060Ti , in my country 4060Ti 16gb way more cheaper

      and your motherboard point, i don't think you can spend too much on your motherboard with an entry level CPU unless they bought a wrong one lol.

      @@albarthomasyou can buy a x870e board for a r5 7600, the board is more expensive than the cpu

      @albarthomas 19 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@mus19990 the point is "entry level" , and i don't think we can say that CPU you mentioned is an entry level, also buying x870e is not bad since its future proof

    • @thecomputersurgeon
      @thecomputersurgeon  15 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@albarthomas X870e is a waste of money for everyone in my view. The best performing gaming chips are the X3Ds which are fairly low power usage and only 8 cores. Even a £120 B650 will get 99% of its potential due to the limited overlcocking headroom. The B650 will be supported just as long as the X870 (for example, see A320 from AM4). The only people for whom X870e will be useful is those who need a heck of a lot of I/O / USB 4 / more PCIe lanes, and those people are in a very small minority

    I tend to go new but I would recommend always buying a new mobo, ssd or psu, everything else lasts a while, second hand cpus are very nice since they last forever unless their new intel chips, for max dos per dollar, the only things you should buy new is stated previously, mainly the ssd and mobo since they can die, psu’s can rarely fry your system and in general ist a good idea to get a decent quality one, gpu, ram, cpu, case, secondary hdd’s will usually be fine, you may get good second hand ssd’s as well but they still degrade at a fastish rate.

    • @jesserose48
      @jesserose48 20 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Also rgb is irrelevant, don’t spend extra just for rgb, and zero rgb builds look nice anyway, your pc is perfectly fine if you can appreciate it yourself

      I also need to add that if your already have a sizeable hdd (1tb or higher or even a 500gb one) you can just buy a cheaper but fast 256gb one and put the main operating system on it so it is the main drive therefore the operating system and computer will feel like it’s running fast, put your main games on the ssd and then put the larger or not as likely to play on the slower larger ssd and you won’t even notice the hdd performance impact because it is smallish and your operating system is running if the ssd, I’ll still have slightly reduced performance on the hdd files but if you didn’t know that a system was running with a small ssd and a big hdd for games you wouldn’t be able to tell a difference, a nice option for super budget builds, I use this just on a larger scale, with a 1tb sata ssd + 128gb sata m.2 + 500gb sata hdd + 2tb sata hdd, I bought a sata ssd because I didn’t have m.2 slots at the time otherwise I would have gotten an nvme drive which I a, going to do eventually when I need more space. Because you can boot games off of an extra drive on your main drive without switching drives as if it were all one big one, just install an operating system on the secondary drive first

    a gpu is only the most important part if you are planning on playing single player AAA games, if you play anything other, like "competitive" multiplayer titles (valorant, cs2, Fortnite, any COD, etc.), or any newer mmos with large scale pvp gpu is the last thing you should be thinking about, with a bad platform and unreliable power your game will stutter hit worse lows, if you don't buy enough ram you will hit hard faults if you don't spend on an ssd those hard faults are even worse, may even crash your game, but for youtubers "gaming" is just hype new story games, and don't even understand why someone may build a "budget pc" they are def not building a pc just to try out cyberpunk with rt

      It should be customised to your particular use case, so if you're planning on playing 1080p Val or CS, then the CPU and memory will be vital, correct!

    RTX4060 ROG Strix Prime MAX OC Plus looks nice and runs cool with RGB chonky heatsink and all. It will outperform other RTX4060s but it's not gonna outperform the cheapest RTX4070 that runs a little hotter.

    • @DiceAir
      @DiceAir 20 วันที่ผ่านมา

      You are 100% wrong there. Just because it runs cooler doesn't mean it will outperform any other 4060. Silicon quality also plays a factor.

    • @thecomputersurgeon
      @thecomputersurgeon  15 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@DiceAir The difference will be minimal as you say. The 4060 can be cooled by a gentle summer breeze ;)
      The lower SKUs are all going to be similar silicon quality anyway seeing as they're the lower cuts, so save your money and just get the cheapest, unless there is a particular aesthetic you're going for
