    I don't own any 80mm fans btw 😘

      I still wonder what 2x 80mm exhaust fans will do for temps. I imagine it would drop temps a lot.

      @@DiceAir it will drop a lot, i build a pc in a similar case the components were not as much as powerfull but putting just the 2 80mm fans in the back inprooved cpu temps by about 10c so i installed a front one and it improved the gpu temps too

    One side benefit, if you are ever unfortunate enough to be burgled... if this is found in your home office, they'll probably leave it behind. 😂

    My version of sleeper is everything is powerful but low powered, meaning you dont have to modified the case but it works even when doing heavy tasks or gaming.

    The idea of a sleeper can be done but with low power parts, like more down to earth. Its just a horrible selection of parts.

    Yep, I'm still on sleeper build things than modern RGB builds. Keep it simple and retro!

    sleeper builds are great if some one at the moment can not afford all the upfront costs of that new bling bling, but need the modern tech for work, school, or gaming.

    I would definitely mod out 2 intake fans on the bottom of the case, and then use 2 80mm fans on the back for exhaust. It would make a huge difference to temps, and still can't be seen from the outside.

    Too late! I already have one 😂
    Its a simple build, enlight 7237 case, 2600x under a wraith prism, 16gb of ram, 3060ti, some a320m msi board (the cheapest working am4 mobo i could find on ebay), 650w evga modular psu, and two 80mm bequiet fans (one "intake" up front, one exhaust (has a cardboard and tape duct so it can only pull air from under the cpu cooler)).
    It does everything I need from a 2nd pc, and could easily be a main pc if it wasn't made almost entirely out of parts that were at one point in my main pc.
    Thermals aren't that bad, I haven't seen either component hit 85c while gaming (if we're playing by gaming laptop rules this is a solid victory. I do not want to drill out the bottom of the case for larger fans like I often see people do.)
    Given that I mostly use it for watching youtube in bed its overkill, but I had almost everything on hand and needed to replace a decade old laptop.

    Thermalright really is the goat with their budget coolers. Nice choice

      They're insanely good value. The only other competitor I've found that's on the same level and price point is Snowman, and they're much harder to come by.

    Don't build a sleeper PC ... if you do not want to deal with implementing proper air flow.

    Sleeper builds are so nice to see! I used to have an i3 12100f and an rtx 2080ti in my coolermaster wavemaster 🗿

    All it needs are some proper fans, like Noctua, and a Deadpool sticker on the side and it is perfect👌

  • @jlmpc8733
    @jlmpc8733 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    the frontpanel has holes in the bottom, can house 2 intake fans, arctic p8 for example, would probably greatly improve the temps. What many people do with sleeper builds is add intake to the bottom, as that is not visible from outside

    I built a sleeper PC end of last year, begining of this year.
    I bought the case cheaply from ebay, and then I used an angle grinder to cut a hole in the bottom for ventilation, which then I covered with a 3d printed grill, I made the legs taller to allow for more air in. The case front had already a deep in the front panel which I followed the lines and cut 2/3 off and replaced with retro looking vents, I also followed the patern on the blank 5.25" and 3.5" blanks, It made it convisigly retro while still being great for cooling. The only thing giving away are the usb 3.0, usb c and card reader front panel I/O.
    Edit: For anyone wondering, not the highest spec parts, but what I have: Ryzen 5 5600G, 32GB Ram 3200MHz, RTX 2080 Super, Toughpower SFX 1000W Gold (already had it coming from SFF, used an adapter with holes for extra airflow) 1x M.2, 2x Sata SSD, and 6 HDDs
    Using a modded Cryorig C7 cpu cooler with a Noctua Fan on it, and 2x front panel 120mm noctua fans. No issues with cooling.

    u need intake and exhaust fans for modern components, u forgot to cool your case

  • @grimmpickins2559
    @grimmpickins2559 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

    There are two fan mounts in the back that you didn't use? I mean, without that... um... where's the exhaust? I realize sleepers aren't your thing, but...
    Once thing about building these, for me anyways, is that I locate cases that have front intake and rear exhaust. It's sort of my way of testing platforms with lower spec components until the build is ready for prime time. Sometimes, I come to love these weird mashups of tech generations.
    I also game on a CRT with a modern PC, so obviously I'm one of those tech geeks that digs this aesthetic. I'm old...

      None of what you're saying is wrong, but the case was salvaged and I don't own any 80mm fans - it would be a waste of money as I have no other use for them!

    Looks like there is room for a larger front fan.
    My latest AM5 kind of looks like a sleeper, as it's in an Aerocool Syclone 2 - but I will never give up on my DVD-RW drives

    I think u can put the exhaust and intake fan to reduce the temp.

    I wouldn't ever build a sleeper PC because of bad airflow

    • @bestopinion9257
      @bestopinion9257 18 วันที่ผ่านมา

      You can make proper airflow too. In this case, cut top of the case, front if possible or lateral otherwise. Two 120mm good fans will solve the problem. A constant airflow will not let the heat to accumulate.
