- Fourth and final Cyber Maze stage, boss rush, from Mega Man X5 for the Sony Playstation PSX. No damage taken, buster only. Undoubtedly, this would be considered one of the most difficult and irritating boss rushes in Megaman existence. And this is by no means due to particularly difficult mavericks, but rather primarily to the overly-long and seemingly endless health meters these mavericks now possess the second time around. For detailed strategies and tactical descriptions concerning each maverick please refer to the actual stage run for that boss...select a stage from the Stage Select video, link below.

MX5's boss battle theme is by far the best hands-down. It's unique with it's upbeat tone that also signifies danger. 😍😍😍

I think it's funny how none of their weakness is time being stopped, but only works on that Pegasus dude that looks like a dog lol

I know it's years later but why didn't you start with Volt Kraken first? I imagine he was the reason for 99% of restarts with the other 1% being either Dinorex or Pegasus.
This is extremely awesome 👍 the tall bar of bosses' life is pretty scary lol it took longer to defeat them but you still did the marvelous job
These bosses remind me of the X1 through X3 bosses. Like they are remixes of the old bosses

It's been quite a while since i played it, but as i remember, bosses' levels raises as you progress through game (or maybe it was the ingame timer), and at the final level they all have these crazy healthbars, so taking them out without their weaknesses is quite a challenge.

Cool 80s Remix of Quick Man's Stage Theme Song this has. First you start on a Platform, then go way down to a Course with Spikes and Enemies. If you know this, its like a Layout of the Spike Part of Bubble Man's Stage. There is a Power up from the Pit to the Mandatory Boss Rush Room, you can get that first. There are Ropes you can use in this one. When you're Finished, a Teleporting Hatch will appear on the Platform in between to take you to the Next Stage.

I'd like to know who was the one at Capcom that came up with the idea of giving mavericks such a HUGE life bar in the boss rush... Because it was an awful idea..
The only good thing is that if you lose all your lifes you don't rematch all of them again
I like the idea actually. It shows a growth in the Mavericks. I wished they had 1-2 new attacks to show higher difficulty with all your abilities, like the kingdom hearts data battles
Long time no see there Sliider! heh I see as usual you are making great Mega Man stuff! nice job on the boss rush! you had a close call on Izzyglow he could have possibly ruined the no damage run if he had become solid during the teleport he did where you were touching him while doing an air dash.

and yeah if he would have materialized a millisecond earlier from his teleport at 8:19, he wouldve got me...a bit of luck there for sure. one thing i can say about X5 is that the hit detection can be rather forgiving sometimes. but trust me, i had more than a few fail runs at this boss rush, and this would have been just one more attempt i guess ;)
This game was hard as a kid, i remember watching my older brother and he always got destroyed im pissed at my brother like do it again dont give up. I love watching than playing it, we play in the afternoon after back from school, sometimes i forced my brother to play Ps1 back then hehe

***** exactly. ;) and in the descriptions of my actual X5 stage runs, i refer to both names to clarify. i simply prefer their actual maverick names, opposed to the shitty GnR names or whatever. Dark Dizzy...seriously? and Duff McWhalen? stupid.
Sliider Your commentary is spot on, I have never really understood why they changed the Mavericks names over and over again. It's just like those crazy Mega Man US covers. And to name them after Guns&Roses, well, that's just silly, but you must know the reason is the staff (I don't know if it's the Japanese or American staff) like GunsRoses. I don't care too much about that, since the soundtrack also has the real names of the Maverick.

+night shroud96 Maybe your hint is right, I don't really know who is the GnR fan, but in the Megaman Wikia, there are explanations of the naming of the Mavericks in this game.

Worst boss rush in the series without a doubt.
It's bad enough the bosses are fairly tricky to difficult but with LONG HEALTH BARS?! It took me a long time to actually perfect run this stage (not counting Sigma who's also difficult on his own) and ... I almost broke my back XD Thankfully I love X5's Soundtrack. I'll give it that.
X4's OST is my favorite from the X series. i also prefer X4's boss rush as well lol.
Sliider36 I like X4's soundtrack too. But the boss rush here is difficult for all the wrong reasons. To be more specific THE GIANT HEALTH BARS. It took me almost a day trying to beat the boss rush no damage buster only including Sigma who's also hard.

Keep in mind that x4 has no change except graphics and zero from x3.Although i cant influence your preference but why are people not appreciating x8
X4 is my favorite from the entire X series...so far. with that said, and to be fair, i have to admit i havent played X7 or X8 yet. Im currently running X6 atm, then we'll see. I do know this- X8 is said to be much better than X7...thats my understanding so far. also, how are the soundtracks to X7 and X8 btw? any good?

I hate this game, the highest level maverick i got at the stage select was 18, zero was 23, so why tf are these guys almost level 100????

@@chingobingo4680 and not only that,the reason he didn't got damaged aswell because the sparks reached there maximum range and thats were you can like climb the walls while they are still there
