Just so I'm clear. The whole plot of this game is the reploids want independence, they seek to leave earth to do it, wish to leave peacefully and on amicable terms with humanity and those reploids who choose to stay behind. Meanwhile Megaman X unilaterally decides their all mavericks, convinces Zero their all mavericks, causing him to kill his girlfreind/wife and in the end for the first time doing 90% Sigma's job FOR him requiring the use of only One loyal Maverick, One turn coat, and one Spy to effectively lay waste to the entire maverick hunters and Repliforce force, without X even realizing he's doing it. Which then leads directly allows the events of X5 to happen and the near annihilation of the entire earths surface. And to top this off at the end of X4, X then realizes that HE caused all of this and is in fact the most dangerous and destructive force on earth....and asks Zero to finish him off one day. WHY IS X THE HERO!?
I think from what I’ve read from Iris’ wiki she was just Zero’s love interest. Even if you play as Zero he designates them as mavericks on the spot as well. Also if you’ve seen X6 you know what the canon ending was X defeating zero and Almost dead zero shooting through X’s chest to destroy Sigma. X rebuilt and wielding a Z-Saber. Also watch Day of Sigma and why when X is called the father of all Reploids is because when he was discovered by Dr. Cain he mass produced reploids. Not to mention if you go into later games before it went 3D people did have criticisms about The Maverick Hunters in general because of their ways and I mean the enemy reploids.
@@TheEmpiresStrongest X6 isn't cannon, even Kenji inufane has said that. capcom made X6 behind his back without telling him and nearly derailed the Zero series saga as a result.

I don't understand the Sigma head in the floor that looks like a pile of flesh and wires. I have a feeling that its design is influenced by something else though.
I really feel the absence of boss encounter music in X4 onward. It added a special dose of menace, and it would really spice up the boss's posturing when you meet them.
