I wouldn't have minded an X6 if Zero stayed dead, which would have allowed him to transition more seamlessly into the Zero series, and the story were to happen picked up from X5's good ending. Axl probably would have had an earlier and more proper introduction as well and X6 could have been a much more well designed game.
Looking at X6, I don't think this game was a fail - it would be better if Zero stayed dead, then Sigma, having only X as playable character, about Axl I thought it interesting to have him as new character - so we would X and Axl relation similar as Zero and X from X1 and what would be better also, if Gate was the true last boss.
When you watch Day of Sigma and see how at first Sigma was focused on X's potential to evolve and how it could lead to the evolution of reploids, then you come to his obejective in this game and realize that he was looking at the WRONG REPLOID all this time and changed his view from X to Zero thanks to (Wiley's help). Crazy!

On the original (JP) he says something like on how when he wake up he was already fully repaired, he doesnt know who or what but something someone had repaired him (and it wasant his own system since the damage was beyond the auto repair capability). That someone is obviously hinted to be willy "ghost" or "Ai" (like what happened to X on the end of X5) as hes the only one who would be capable of fully rebuilding zero from the state he was in.
I mean, to be fair to X6 it was suddenly sprung on them, and at this point would anybody *really* be happy if X6 didn't have Zero as a playable character when X4 and X5 do? From a story standpoint, it makes sense, but from a gameplay, functionality and feature based perspective, it wouldn't have back then. If MMX6 were made in today's gaming climate though, you can bet Zero would have been cut and released as DLC later.
It is challenging, but getting the hang of being Zero he's way more powerful, especially when you go to a secret area to find Dr Light and receive the black armor with the purple saber
Amazing job there Sliider. I am amazed at how you mastered avoiding Sigma 1st form attacks so well. I do fairly well however when he starts throwing those blue waves at me I have a hard time mostly the ones where you have to dash through middle on. His 2nd form not too hard especially when I use Zero just slash him to death.. well that is what Zero does to everything else but yeah slash everything in sight.
Even from beyond the grave, Wily’s that determine to beat Light by any means just because his massive ego won’t allow him to let things go. I guest constantly being thwarted by Light’s previous creation, the original Megaman his done so much damage to Wily’s pride to the point it drove him completely insane.
But Wily is dead... could it be it was Wiley ?! (the one from Megaman Zero) if that is true, then... such great foreshadowing him !!! (sinve Wiley appears only since MZ 2 )

Aside from X6 and maybe 7 this is basically where it ends. However there is two timelines, The one with where either X6 or X7 it continues onto the Zero, ZX and whatever the fuck series and the timeline where the X series is indefinite. I prefer the latter.
Bro, without sub-tanks this fight is damn near impossible. I managed to learn 1st phase pretty well and killed his 2nd fast enough before he was able to use that stupid block attack.
Sigma's final form is very similar to Gamma from Megaman 3, except much harder. Or if you want to make another comparison, its kind of like Apocalypse's final form in X-Men vs. Street Fighter.
One wonders how the heck Zero blew up when he was NOWHERE NEAR the explosion. Now it makes more sense if you did come here as Zero, but it's still odd seeing Zero blow up when X was the one close to Sigma.

You see Zero and X are the originals of their kind but they were not considered reploids. you see reploids were made by Dr.Cain as to try and copy Zero and X`s design free will and blah blah. Is a long complicated story but the reason why in the series Zero and X are referred to as reploids is to avoid confusion in their universe that is. Is a lot I recommend you find some more info on the Mega Man wiki you will find the stuff there. Even though the two of them are not reploids it is fine to refer to them as such. Also notice that is why everyone Sigma included do not know how Zero and X work it is because they are not reploids so yeah.
when I first learned that the creator of X with planning on this to be the final game I was suprised and was glad they kept the series going but now that I think of it all the other ones really suck and I would be fine if it ended here. (even though zero dies in this one)

Everything beyond x5 was a mess. The only exception may be x8, but besides that, megaman zero, zx, etc. ALL of it was just depressing. I don't care how fun people thought the gameplay was, the direction they took and how they wrote it sucked.

Having the Falcon armor helps so much against Sigma. Smooth gameplay!

I think you are supposed to destroy the hand. I managed to do so as X on my playthrough.
You have to stay between 2 fingers and move with the electricity, it's pretty hard to do though because you don't have much room.
