This is the best video I've seen on free motion quilting. I still need to practise a lot, but this looks the simplest, yet very effective. I especially like the 'get out' for when you've boxed yourself in! Many thanks for sharing this.
There was me thinking I was inventing something new using my Pfaff Creative 3.0 to McTavish on two layers of wadding but you have done it all before and it is lovely to see it. Mind you I then go on to colour this in with Inktense blocks. Thanks again.
Thank you, free motion quilting is lovely and it looks like it can be relaxing. I hope I will be able to slow down in my life to be able to do this. :)
Excellent video tutorial, very similar to my approach - Thank YOU! I do quite a bit of Tango quilting - my version of McTavishing. People ask me ALL the time 'How' I do this. Now, I can refer them to your tutorial ;-)
Thanks for the video. Clear demo, tips, technique, etc. I've seen other videos on this same technique. Seeing it via pencil and you giving your commentary as you did the pattern really helped. Then your stitching in a good contrasting color helped as well.
Thank you Thank you Thank you!!. I am also left handed and I love the fact that you practiced with pencil. I have had the same problem with pens and smearing!! I love McTavishing but haven't been able to find a video that is so well taught!! you are great. Thanks again! Appreciate your teaching skills also. Very easy to follow:)
i am left handed too so no worries, we adjust when we live in a right handed world and no one notices! I practiced like you said and then got my frixion pen and did the same on the quilt and gosh, it worked, although I did get cocky and did some side bits that was not in the pattern I drew!
I've been doodling on a dry erase board but find it very slippery and my doodling is awful. I'm ready to give up already. You make it look easy and do a wonderful work..
I taught school with dry erase and there is a learning curve to them but changing brands of pens or wrapping the pens up with more tape was helpful sometimes. Practice and showing kids who see with freah eyes helps.
Hi just curious about your foot it does not look like a typical free motion foot what company makes it and would it fit a singer machine or do you know? ty so much
hi i was wondering if the machine that you use in this video is a different type of machine or is the foot that you use that is different?if the machine is different , what is it called? and if the foot is different , what is its name? thank you sooooooo much this video was really helpful in learning how to do this!!!!!!!!!!!!

Beautiful 🤩💜
Katherine? Oh Katie, it's you! Love your video, especially the teardrops to get out of a tight spot.
Love this method of free motion. Your way of filling in looks like some kind of exotic flower.
Katherine, thanks for making this beautiful stitching possible for me.

+Sonya Rosamond this is a foot made for Pfaff machines so I don't think it would attach to a Singer unfortunately
ty so much!

It is a Pfaff Creative 2.0 - sewing/embroidery machine. I'm using the free motion foot on the machine.
Most brands of machines come with a darning foot. If you don't have one, you can usually find one to fit at the dealer's
Thanks you....

Logical instructions; repetitive use of 'kind of' distracting....you are actually drawing it, not kind of drawing it :)
