Ditto on basically everything you talked about. Sweaters, colors, home and retirement. Yes girl, yes! You’re always a joy to watch. They say when you’re passionate about something it radiates to others. I feel in every video. Thanks so much for the inspiration.
Ms. Sophie, I am a new 73 year young knitter, and let me tell you "I LOVE IT! I have commented every time since discovering Nancy of Knit, Sip, Happy and then I heard you say her name. Being much older than Nancy and hubby, we have a lot in common. I was in the US Navy for 20 years and so was the Wheeler family. Trust and believe that if Dad or Mom served in the military, the whole family serves. I call Nancy lassie as she was born and raised in England and so was I. Your podcast is just as enjoyable and I wanted you to know that I will be actively looking forward to all your upcoming podcast. I love your genuine enthusiasm and passion for the craft. You have a natural humor that makes your podcast a great one. I want to knit All the things as well, but I have a long way to go. Since I do have a long way to go its time to let you go and hop back on my project. I'm almost finished The Honey Cardigan by Kotovokika. Check it out! Its brioche and I'm excited. One more sleeve. Oops! I just lied..Half fisherman rib, lol. Ms. Jo
I think last years winter gathering is one of my favourite events we did in years. I can't wait to see everyone in Sussex again this year! So sad we won't see you!
Aw thank makes me so happy to hear! It was sooooo much fun! I’m sooooo sad i won’t be able to make it to this one, but when mom duty calls i need to answer 😂 ! Will try to make it next year 😅. ❤
Hello Sophie, I really look forward to your podcasts. I feel such a connection through the knitting and the NB ties. I spent 4 years at UNB Fredericton then both my daughters went to university in NB - one in Moncton and one in Fredericton. My cousin lives in Bouctouche. The French language. So many connections! Right now I have too many WIPS happening. Tonight I am working on a cowl because I need one! Other WIPS is a sweater also by Jennifer Steingass, a pair of mitts and a pair of socks. Thank you again for sharing your time and knitting projects. Until next time.
Sophie, I love your podcast. I think my dream vacation would be to come to knit night with you and Nancy. But since I'm from northwest Missouri I'm sure that will probably never happen.😊 I'm so excited to see that Adeline sweater in the professor plum colorway. It's going to be lovely! Right now I'm working on the Elara cardigan by emknits in Queensland recycled tweed in the color cherry blossom held with a mohair blend in a pastel pinkie purple color. I'm loving it! ❤️🧶
Oh, I wish you could join us too! ❤❤ That's a beautiful color combination for the Elara cardigan! Just searched it on Ravelry. It’s going to be stunning!! Keep me posted and thank you so so much for watching! ❤ Happy knitting!! ❤
Hi, Sophie! Your Forsythian sweater is so beautiful. It’s going to look amazing on you. Thanks for keeping company while I knit tonight. Big squishy hug from me. ❤
It was wonderful to spend time with you Sophie. You inspired me to make a Wilfreda and I'm so glad you did. It is such a beautiful fit and the drape is fabulous. I recently bought a copy of Only Yoking and I too fell in love with the same cable yoke. Definitely on my to do list. Wishing you a wonderful New Year full of good health, happiness and knitting.🥰
Perfect afternoon to catch up,,,,,🎉🎉love ur sweater,,,, on you,,, I am half way in my first musselburgh,,,,,and loving it,,,such a great idea with kroy,,,,sock yarn,,,,I have a tote of it,,, My next musselburgh will be in that,,, Take care, Elaine🎉❤
Hi Elaine! So glad you enjoyed the episode! And yay for your Musselburgh! They are just so fun to knit right? I’m for sure knitting more too! Happy Knitting and thanks for watching! ❤❤
We were sick too, first time since before 2020 so shock to the system, ha, but also did lots of knitting and binge watching. So sad we’ll miss you in Sussex, but family comes first and they grow up fast! I can’t wait to retire too.
Aw thanks!! so happy you enjoyed! I always feel I have to point out my mistakes, but in the end it's what makes our knitting unique! and I'm ok with that!! 🥰
Happy New Year Sophie! 🎉 Sounds like we had some similar experiences this holiday season with colds plaguing our families. Glad to see you are feeling better and I'm with you, I'm soooo ready for retirement (and all the making that will come 😂)! Love the colourwork in your Jenn Steingass sweater so much 😍 Thanks for the lovely lunchtime company 🤗💕
Happy new year to you Nikki!! I hope you guys are doing better! Totally recommend the Forsythian sweater. I don't think there is 1 patter from her that i do not love to be honest! Thanks for hanging out with me. Wishing you a wonderful knitty January my friend! 🥰🧶
I’ve made the Jo’s slipper socks. They look kind of funny to me but when you put them on they fit great. I’ve been trying to get my sister to try socks and got her her to knit these at least to get started. I need some new ones for myself in pink though. I need to look at the Wilfreida, I refuse to knit the Ranunculus but would like a similar top. Hallmark Christmas movies are wonderful. I watch a lot in January as I knit and crochet and recover from Christmas. Sorry you’ve been sick but glad you were well enough to craft. Your new sweater is snacking and so smart looking. Great WIPs!!!
Great episode Sophie...I too have just decided to to make another Jennifer Steingass pattern called "Brightfeather". Using Woolworks 4ply 100% Merino yarn. I am unable to get gauge with this yarn( story of my life) so 🤞. Love what you are knitting, glad you are feeling better 🥰🇨🇦Sharon.
Hi Sophie, Happy New Year! I love both of your sweaters-the one you are wearing and the one on the needles. Your colour combos are amazing. I'm so sorry you may not make it to Sussex; it was such a great time last year. I'm excited to see the Ramboulet yarn knit up. I also bought three skeins in PEI. Cheers from Cathy! Kat_tail_Knits.
Happy New Year Sophie! Glad you are feeling better. Yes, we do have Michael's craft stores here in the US (well all the states I have lived in at least). Your sweaters (FO and WIPs) are beautiful and I am dying over that Wilfreda...you can see that sheen and that color is fabulous (I need another or two). I am also trying to knit from books and owned patterns this year. We can do it! Take care!
Bon Jour Sophie! Happy New Year! I have a colour too, and it's the same as yours. I love everything mauve, purple, burgundy etc. I try to make sweaters with other colours, but then I don't wear them...LOL. I love the Adeline. It's on Ravelry and I love fingering weight yarn. I run hot, so Worsted is not happening. And I watch Hallmark too! Rosie
Bonne et heureuse année Sophie! Du fricot…yummy, un de mes repas préférés! Love your podcast and I’m intrigued by the Adelaide sweater…thanks for showing it. Hope to see you soon.
Ya rien comme de bon fricot en hiver right?! 😂 yes its such a cute sweater and that book just has so many gorgeous designs! Hope to see you next week at knit night mon amie! Happy knitting!! ❤
Hey Sophie, I love your videos.💞 I’m currently working on socks for myself but you inspire me to make a sweater. I think it will be a 2025 project for me! I live close to Tracy’s Rolling Yarn shop so I may have to go visit her for yarn for my sweater. 😉 Happy New Year!! 🎉🧶
Hi Sophie! Always love seeing your projects. You make such gorgeous sweaters. I have a goal of making my first colourwork sweater this year. I haven't picked a pattern yet, but it will be a DK or Fingering weight. Can't do worsted ---- way too warm for me.
Hi Leslie!! you are too sweet! And sooo excited on your first colorwork sweater! They are so so fun to work up.. I'm obsessed at the moment. 😂 And that's really smart of you not going on worsted if you find that already to warm. the solorwork sections will have like double layer so that kicks up the hot factor! Keep me posted on this! I can't wait to see what pattern you decide on! 🥰 Thank you so much for tuning in again my friend and happy knitting! 💖🧶
We have Michael’s here in US. I think you used the sock yarn 🧶 right? I know they have thick yarns too. I do hear people say their sock is more like a sport like you said. Want also do socks and will have to change needle size. Thanks Judy
hi Judy! oh yay! Michael's here is on of my favorite stores! I did use Patens Kroy sock yarn! It was definitely a heavy fingering/ light sport for sure. If you want a reaaaaly warm hat, I totally recommend! I did have to buy 3 skeins. I forgot to mention that.. I used 2 complete skeins and only a little bit of the third for the Adult large size i made. Thanks for tuning in and happy knitting!! 🥰
Hi Sophie, Happy New Year, are all you easteners so friendly ? So nice and makes me want to move east . I'm from TO but live near Munich in the Alps . Knitting and watching this cold afternoon . Thanks for the info , I'm making a color work norwegian hat . 😊
