      Thanks boss! I'm a fan of your Yugioh videos too! You know what would be cool if you haven't done it already is a video on cards that appear in multiple other cards. For example, how Marauding Captain and Gagagigo appear in the art of several other cards like, My Body as a Shield, Reinforcement of the Army, Warrior Returning Alive, etc.
      Dunno what points could be made about strategy and playability but it'd be a cool video nonetheless

      actually...in japanese dub they read out tje effects of EVERY card so yes it isnt something special im also pretty sure they did that in the eng dub (didnt watch it tho) so why is it a meme?

    • @AhsimNreiziev
      @AhsimNreiziev 6 ปีที่แล้ว +16

      Basically what +RxY said. The only reason _Pot of Greed_ is more meme-able than any other card (all of which the effects were also explained every time they were played), is because it is the effect-having card that was easily played most often in the Anime.

      I actually play it in generic cyberse (at 3 in my 60 card variant and at 2 in my 40 card variant). Through 1 normal summon combo of Widget Kid + Lady Debug, going first, you can make a 4 material Saryuja, use its 3 material effect to SS one extra monster from hand (from one of the monsters you draw from the 4 material effect, ideally.) Link that off into Borrelsword, use Avarice to draw 2, and potentially keep combos going. Worst case scenario, the combo ends in a borrelsword. Really fun deck, highly recommend. They have all sorts of weird and crazy support.

    Considering how it was the first new Pot Of spell ever made after Pot of Greed, Pot of Generosity is actually pretty hilarious. It's clearly made to be the opposide of Pot of Greed in every way - it's slim rather than fat, it has a calm expression rather than Greed's manic one, it has two handles instead of one, the names are obviously opposites, and Greed takes two cards from your deck while Generosity gives two cards to your deck. The only way Pot of Generosity could be more opposite to Pot of Greed is if it were a trap or something.

  • @pickyphysicsstudent201
    @pickyphysicsstudent201 6 ปีที่แล้ว +151

    Excuse me, but Pot of Generosity is a +1 because while you are using one card from your hand, you're putting two cards into your deck and the cards in the deck do matter because that is where they come from. Greed is just wrong but generosity is good.
    I remember this one game, where I opened with 2 Pot of Generosities and used them to put back my starting hand into my deck where it would be safe from my opponent's Gouki deck's Topologic Gamblar's ExtraLink discard effect, where you can force your opponent to discard 2, if it's ExtraLinked. It's the best of all the pot cards.
    Pot of Greed... I have no idea what it does.
    Pot of Avarice has a Hitler mustache.
    Pot of Benevolence can be used to give your opponent back their cards from their GY, so it could be used as a neg 3, in that regard because you loose 1 and they gain 2 for their deck.
    Pot of Duality prevents special summoning and is a +0.
    Pot of Dichotomy, is grammatically incorrect because it shuffles 3 types of monsters but Dichotomy means: a division or contrast between *two* things that are or are represented as being opposed or entirely different. That's just wrong because 2 is not 3.
    Pot of Riches looks funny.
    Pot of Desires is a neg 9.
    Pot of Acquisitiveness is something I cannot pronounce, therefore it's bad.

      Generosity is a -3. The deck is NOT a resource. You cannot take a card from anywhere in your deck and use it. Which means, a card at the top of your deck is just as useless as a card at the bottom of your deck.

    • @Kingminer13579
      @Kingminer13579 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Desires is a +1 for the same reason. Plus, most non-Exodia decks play most of the combo pieces as 2 ofs or 3 ofs

    • @UniGya
      @UniGya 6 ปีที่แล้ว +26

      Damien Lassiter well, as far as I know in the OCG the format doesn't keep a bunch of monsters in the grave right now, so it makes sense. Either they're banishing their monsters or they want those monsters there, so the shuffle cost actually is a cost right now

    • @pickyphysicsstudent201
      @pickyphysicsstudent201 6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Thanks ya' think that Dzeeff claims Desires is great (which it is) because it is played in tournaments and is in all the top decks (which it is) but here we have Avarice not being played when it can and yet no one does, even as a one off, in something like ABC, where you can put back your Dragon Busters.

      Graceful Charity does have a slightly higher chance to draw a specific card you need, but most of the time, ending up with 1 more card than what you had before you cast the spell is much better. However, Graceful Charity is a convenient way to get specific cards into the Graveyard, which makes it better in specific decks.

    Pot of Greed has always been unbalanced in the card game. The card was made really to give characters in the manga and anime a reason to put more cards in their hands so they can keep playing new crazy stuff. Back when it wasn't MEANT to be a card game. It ain't a card, it's a plot device. In both cases, totally overpowered.

    I just realized that flavor/artwork wise, pot of desires is a misfit; before it, konami would release two opposite pots followed by a combination of them. Desires, however is just a combination of greed and avarice, who already have combination pots in duality and dichotomy (even the effects fit decently in this flavor).
    So in conclusion: the scrubs were right all along; pot of desires is garbage!

    they should make an archetype around pot of generosity and benevolence . ex: if pot of generosity is activated reveal this card in your hand, draw 2 cards and set 1 pot of benevolence from your deck. if this card would be shuffled from the graveyard into the deck (quick effect) add 1 pot of generosity from your deck or graveyard to your hand. if your opponent would draw a card shuffle this faceup card into your deck negate that effect and discard 1 card from your opponents hand (your choice). or something along those lines. i imagine them being like inquisitors.

    There's a pretty neat FTK strategy with Pot of Benevolence in a Fortune Lady deck in Duel Links.

    My friend uses pot of acquisitiveness in his melodious deck. What he does is he activates schubertas effect banishing three monsters to boost its attack and then activate the pot.
