- Tony’s back with a head-to-head comparison of two of 2024’s most anticipated stability shoes: the ASICS Kayano 31 and the New Balance 860 v14. Both are reliable. Both are highly cushioned and supportive underfoot. Which is right for you?

Excellent images and video quality as always. Both overview and detail photos are sharp. These shoes look amazing through your lens.
Glad you like them! - Brandon
thanks good sir explaining the benefits of stability shoe for me a new runner that just know this now.
We also have a video that explains neutral vs. stability running shoes in just two minutes: th-cam.com/video/S2scpvJ-3Ag/w-d-xo.html
I'm curious how these two compare to the Saucony hurricane 24. I need one for everyday wear, I'm no runner. Which do you think makes most sense for an everyday wear shoe?
I have both the 860V13 and Kayano 30. If i could choose one it would be the 860. The Kayano 30 has too much stabilization which mean's it's not great for general wear or walking. Plus the outsole is pretty slippery on wet pavement where as the 860 is fine. My next shoe will probably be the 860 v14.
Thanks for the review! Which would you choose for a treadmill run? It’s getting super hot and I anticipate using my treadmill a bit more to escape the heat on days where I can’t wake up early enough to get a cool run in.
I would say generally speaking, the 860 may be more treadmill friendly, simply because it’s a lower stack than the Kayano but both are certainly good options!
which is more breathable?
which is more stable for person with ankle issues?
👍🏻 N. B 860
Which one do you prefer for walking and standing?
Both great options!
👍
Love the clean old school look of the NB. Never liked ASICS, their outsoles are not grippy enough.
This new rubber worked out well, I got muddy with em!
Which one would be better for daily wear at work ???
Honestly either one! See how the fit / feel at a local Fleet Feet (preferably haha)
The 860V14 has lost a lot of arch support and after 13 versions I think it is a failure. It is not as stable as the past versions.
It’s all relative tbh, I personally liked this version but it’s all good! 😊
05:41 slight mistake in captioning;)
You just said everyone pronates and that you over-pronate and then yoiu said some people supinate. That doesn't make sense.
Rest of the video is great.
Aaah ok - I should clarify supinating is also knows as “underpronating” so everyone mostly either under or over pronates… Hope that makes more sense!
My 860 looks better than that.
Okay. It all feels the same inside
