Your hair is absolutely beautiful and I'm going to get the zero styler and gel and mousse you have recommended. This is the best video I've seen that truly shows what and how beautiful my natural hair can be. I usually wear braids but want to take a break from them. Thank you so much for this information.
Thank you so much. Your comment made me smile so big. Creating content and growing a following is hard but it's comments like this that remind me why I do what I do.
You hair is gorgeous! It’s very refreshing to see a wash n go that’s simple without a lot of products and without all the unnecessary talking and vulgar music.
You're welcome. Yes, so true. Even when I had long hair I never really saw a lot of videos for short haired naturals. I've been team short hair for three years now and I love it and am never going back to short hair
Thank You for this video! I love gels and mousse as well, however I have been putting the gel in first then mousse . After watching this, I will try it your way. I use the doux products!
I saw that comb at sallys a few months ago and wasnt sure if it was worth getting but now you sold me! Im going to get it on next pay day and see how it does on me and my son twa
It's definitely a game changer. I didn't get mine from Sally's so not if it's the same one. I sell mine in my Amazon shop if you want to check it out. You get 2 for under $10. You can find my shop in my links
Definitely one of the best natural babes that I’ve seen. I have following you on IG for a while. Can you do a video showing what you do in between your wash days?
First I didn’t even know you had a TH-cam channel. Second, finally a curly girl that uses mousse first then gel. I find the mousse defines my salt and pepper hair so nicely and the gel locks the style in. I use Camille Rose Honey Mousse and Curl Maker. Your hair came out great as usual. Are you still posting on IG, if so you are not coming up on my feed like before.
Hey, thank you ❤️. I have always had a youtube but wasn't posting long videos. I'm back to posting long videos after taking a two year break. Yes, mousse gives me such good definition but no hold. If I could find a mousse that does both I'd be in heaven. I like that mousse from Camille Rose too. Design Essentials has a good one too. Yes, I'm still on IG. The IG algorithm is terrible. Turn on your notifications so you'll get notified when I post
🎉 Absolutely gorgeous. Couple questions. Is there a sticky feel to your hair when it dries? I cannot get around a sticky feel. I do use a mousse followed with gel. I have dry hair. Do you ever include any type of oil in your styling or curl maintenance? Are there any shampoos that you find work well? Thanks for sharing.
Thank you so much. No, it's not sticky at all. I know that feeling of sticky hair and I hate it but these aren't sticky at all. No, I never use oils in my hair. I feel like they don't do anything for my hair. Even when my hair was long I never used oils. When it comes to shampoo I really don't have a favorite. I kind of bounce around. Because my hair is dry I do focus more on very moisturizing conditioners and moisturizing leave-in conditioners. Let me know if you'd like some recommendations
@ Thank you. I don’t use moisturizers in my hair. Just a moisturizing leave-in conditioner and my styler. My daughter has very dry hair and some of m favorite moisturizers for her are Shea Yogurt from Alikay Naturals, Boing from Oyin Handmade, Uncle Funkys Daughter Extra Butter and Supercurl. Look for good moisturizing leave-in conditioners too. Some of my favs are Thirsty Curls from Uncle Funkys Daughter. Camille Rose Coconut Water Leave-in, Mane Choice Tropical Moringa and Paul Mitchell The One
I wonder how this combination compares to Garnier Frutis air dry curl cream… perhaps with Curls Passion Fruit Paste for added for an extra soft but firm hold.
I've never tried either of those but might check them out. I prefer a very strong hold gel because I need my hair to last. I also typically don't like curl creams because the hold is just way too soft for me. I always say I'm team crunchy hair lol
Thank you. Some my favorite gels are Wetline Exteme, Eco Styler Argan Oil, Aunt Jackie's Don't Shrink Gel, Uncle Funkys Daughter Curly Magic. The curly magic is a light hold but pairs well with the Eco Styler. These are some of my top gels and they're all clear
Because I use a strong hold gel I get 3 or 4 days out of it then I'll refresh to get another 2 or 3 days. My refresh technique is also up on my channel
Hi, for this video I used the Alikay Naturals Lemongrass Leave-In, the mousse and the gel all from the same line. You can click the link in the description to purchase everything used in the video
Hey from the Bronx, NY. No, I wash my hair once a week. If I'm going to the gym regularly I'll wash it a few times a week. I refresh once a week. Usually in day 3. That will get me through the rest of the week. I posted my refresh routine last week so you can check that out
Does your hair feel dry and hard after your wet hair drys? I experienced this with so many products even though the products state that they leave your hair soft.😢
Yes, my hair is hard after styling with these but that us because I like a very strong hold so my hair will last. You can use some oil to break the gel cast or use a blow dryer with a concentrator nozzle to break the cast. That will soften the hair. If you want a good gel that leaves your hair soft try Uncle Funkys Daughter Curly Magic
If I had to guess I'd say 4a and some 3c up top. Yes, I've seen 4c hair textures use both products and get good results. My tips are always style on soaking wet hair and really work the product in. Before you add more product add more water first.

I'm liking her for not making us watch the whole video before she actually starts & actually sharing the product, respect young lady🙏🏽❤
Thank you. I have to get in and get out because nobody wants to watch super long videos lol
You hair is gorgeous! It’s very refreshing to see a wash n go that’s simple without a lot of products and without all the unnecessary talking and vulgar music.
Thank you so much. I've learned that the more simple my routine the better. I know people have things to do so I try to get straight to the point.
thanks for this w&g so tired of video s on longer hair as tho we twa don t exist thank you, your hair is beautiful
You're welcome. Yes, so true. Even when I had long hair I never really saw a lot of videos for short haired naturals. I've been team short hair for three years now and I love it and am never going back to short hair
Gorgeous curls. Didn't know Alikay made a gel or mousse. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you. They actually have a few gels. This one is my favorite of all of them because it's a strong hold
I love it thanks for sharing your ideas. I am going natural a gain this is what I want
Thank you so much. Good luck on your natural hair journey. I'll be posting a video next week about what I wish I knew before I went natural
Beautiful job!!
Thank you ❤️
I like the idea of the mousse first/gel afterwards combo. Great suggestion! Hair lookin' 🔥🔥🔥
Thank you ❤️. Let me know if you decide to try the mousse/gel combo.
A lot of work but clearly worth it. Thanks for the product info.
Yes, definitely worth it because I'm able to get a few days out of my hair. You're welcome
Thank You for this video! I love gels and mousse as well, however I have been putting the gel in first then mousse . After watching this, I will try it your way. I use the doux products!
You're welcome. I love the Doux honey line. The gel has a really strong hold. Let me know what you think once you try mousse then gel
So I tried the mousse then gel and loved it. Do you let the mousse dry some, then put the gel on?
@@DionneJohnson-p5d So glad you liked it. No, I don't let it dry down some. As soon as I'm done applying the mousse I go right in with the gel

How long do this style last and how do you refresh it
Because it's a strong hold gel I can get a good 3 days before I have to refresh. I put up a video a few weeks ago showing how I refresh
