She was Dubbed as Asia's Phoenix after her performance on Asia Song festival 2017 back in Korea, where not only did she made a name for herself by capturing the korean audience hearts but she also raised the Philippine flag high when she Bravely, Successfully, outstanding sang and performed Hits songs like Secret Love Song and Chart topping, Timeless very very difficult remix song of Best of my Love + Emotions by the song bird supreme herself , adding fuel to it when she performed her most popular, record breaking, very very controversial cover of Rise Up where it got taken down quickly after its TH-cam upload release by the original singers record label due to copyrights or something.
Not only did her voice gave the people the impression that she sings like a bird because of her high vocal power, but its also because of her life story; started from her childhood days, joining singing competitions one after another and losing and if not placing as a runner up, but this did not dampen her confidence, she continued to pursue her dream of becoming a singer. Then came a big big challenge and depressing phase where she almost lost her ability to sing due to a tumor she had near her throat, but god did not leave her side, after the successful operation and a very healthy recovery she continued even more so to reach the sky's and become the singer she wanted to be, and so like a Phoenix that rises from the ashes and ones again soared high above the sky, she gained the Tittle as Asia's Phoenix 💜

Morissette has actually performed this this exact song live onstage in her very first concert when I think she's about 19 years of age and she did it at the tail-end if a Mariah Carey medley. It was definitely shorter but she did it with almost all of the highlights included. And she registered a lot more "cries or squeaks" in that specific performance as compared to this one. It was that particular segment (Fly Like A Bird) of that medley that I've enjoyed the most from that performance of hers and since then have wished that she makes a stand alone remake of it. And to my delight, I guess I've gotten my wish lol... I've seen her once in Robinson where she perform "Halo". At first she arrive in the venue some of her fans make a way to come close to her to take photos including me. Some of the guard there push me a little bit coz I'm so close to her and she said "no no no that's okay" she hug me a little bit and said sorry for what the guard did to me and take a picture. That moment I froze for a minute her humbleness makes me fall inlove with her instantly, the media and cameraman is just setting up at that time. What I mean is she didn't do that in front of camera she did that bcoz she love her fans. So to those people who said she has a bad attitude, god knows it. She got her title Asia’s Phoenix due to her life experience. She always joined a national singing competition here in the Philippines and I guess most of the time she lose but she still held her head up. Positivity in her makes her rise up. Just like a phoenix, when the phoenix dies it turns into an ashes, waiting to be reborn and soar high once again. Morissette lose most of the time in singing competition but still keeps going on because she loves to sing and now, she soars high and been known as the best vocalist in her generation despite of her defeat in every singing competition. ☺️☺️

She became the Asia's Phoenix after she performed in Asia's Song Festival held in Korea. She sang emotions, obviously a song with whistle notes, and after that Koreans started calling her that name.
Fun fact, Morissette loved that name as it portrays her real life. After joining almost three national singing competition and losing at all of them, she did not falter and kept pursuing her dreams, alike to a phoenix which rises from ashes (she said this in an interview).
It was not the koreans who named her Asia's Phoenix. You can read it in the comments in the same interview (twba), somebody remembered/recognized the name of the first person to call her that and replied to her. She humbly acknowledged and said it was from all the fans, not just her. 😁

Not only am I a huge Morissette fan, but this version is on the smooth jazz edge of pop, which I thoroughly enjoy. She's Asia's Phoenix because of the dynamic of her voice which was very flexible and can sing any genres. She's kinda singer that has always explosion whenever she sing where everyone didn't expect to hear. In short a lot of surprises. She's my schoolmate and had been competing together during college. We sang together as well before. She's phenomenal! 🧡🧡🧡
Thanks for this reaction! She's called Asia's Phoenix because she had a throat operation. Many believed that was the end of her career and had doubts about her being able to sing again but she obviously proved them wrong. She rose from the ashes, like a phoenix.

Yes, Mori is Asia's Phoenix. It being a recognition of her remarkable talent, and also perhaps, as a challenge to any aspiring singer who may choose to equal or even surpass the phenom that is Mori. As for Asia's Songbird, every aspiring singer, especially today's Filipino singers have shown nothing but respect and awe for her unsurpassed body of work. In a nutshell, Asia's Songbird is the "Queen of Queens" in the Philippines.

Dear Julia, Morissette has some great duets with men and in most of them she matches her hair color to the color of the man's hair she sings with. So PLEASE start with You Are The Reason Daryl Ong & Morissette which is a cover of Calum Scott. The reason I would prefer hat one first is because they have the same beautiful color that you do. Hi Julia, loved the reaction and analysis. I think that this is just what the doctor ordered to make everyone feel good during the quarantine. After her performance on the Asian Song Festival 2017 in Busan, South Korea. Koreans started calling her Asia's Phoenix. If you react to her performance you will see why! I would recommend watching the whole video. She sings 2 songs. 1st one is Secret Love Song. After that she introduces herself to the crowd. She has great stage presence, but it's a pity that most Koreans don't speak English. Her 2nd song is mash up of Best Of My Love and Emotions. So good was her performance. That she was invited back the following year. And as she was coming down the steps from back stage. Zara Larsson who was also performing there. Rushed up to Morissette and hugged and congratulated her on her incredible performance. There's a video of it somewhere. You should checkout her Asian Song Festival 2018 as well. I remember in one of her previous interview, she was asked, why Phoenix? she said, maybe it's her life experiences esp her singing career, her ups and downs,and how she rise up whenever she falls by improving her craft also she never stops learning new skills, she just keep going and going, thus she was compared to a legendary Phoenix bird who soar high after rising from the ashes.

When you're a singing diva in the 🇵🇭 with a powerful vocal, you get an unofficial nickname (or should I say a title) that connotates to the avian species for some reason such as the great Regine Velasquez is called Asia's Songbird and Lani Misalucha, another powerful voice with operatic influence, as The Nightingale.
Not that Mori rose from the ashes or something 😂 that's why she's dubbed as THE PHOENIX, but because she sings with so much energy, passion, emotion & intensity that she's figuratively just ON FIRE 🔥when she does. Plus, she's also so in demand these days and quite arguably the hottest music artist in the country for the last 2-3 years now.

I so love Morissette Amon...She is not only beautiful, but this girl can down right sing her ass off no matter what it is she might be singing.
