Don said don’t let the kid in. The wife didn’t listen. Don wanted to leave the kid behind. The wife didn’t listen. She got what she deserved. In a survival situation, you do what you have to for YOU to survive and you listen to those around you.
the reason there is so much rot in the west is because women are allowed power as well and they act exactly like this one. every time you allow women near any form of power or authority, they destroy.
Ive said it before, the father Don did nothing wrong. For 1 he has his own kids to get back to. 2 he single handedly fought off the infected until he got overhwelmed and lost his weapon. 3 he insisted on his wife to not let the kid in(who caused multiple deaths), then later to leave him. Its a horrible decision but she has her own kids. 4 the infected were between them in the bedroom and hed have been overwhelmed n killed within seconds. Everyones so quick to judge but 9/10 times most of us woild flee aswell.
That's the thing i've always hated about certain facets of society. They expect the guy to die for a woman who's clearly lost her mind, and they have the nerve to call him weak and a coward like they wouldn't be in the background crying their eyes out, completely catatonic, in that situation. The only reason they are upset is because they hate to lose the safety blanket of "A man will save me, because i'm a woman and that makes me valuable". Who the hell would really run to their deaths like she expected of him other than a fool? Don was the smartest guy there, he was the bravest, but the good thing was that he wasn't stupid brave. That was the only reason he survived that encounter at all. Danny Boyle is arguably my favorite director for his work on his intro, and i wish he'd worked on the rest of the movie. The worst part to me? That woman's actions resulted in that foolish child's death, he was safe hiding in that cupboard, the zombies would not have seen him, but she was full irrational momma bear mode and wouldn't take no for an answer, taking him from his position of relative safety.
@Jameybear-m4s Well good thing Danny's returning fir the sequel 28 yrs later. Yeah everyone has their fantasy mentality, when in reality it doesn't always go like that. Yeah the boy would've prob been safe hiding n staying quiet. However rher mother instincts kicked in, however she has her own kids to get back to. Like did she not realise already tht her first decision to let the boy in already resulted in 4 deaths. If she had just listened n went with her husband she'd be safe with her family AND no 2nd outbreak.
@@Jameybear-m4s Yeah women really goofed with that whole 'feminism' thing. They were already the most protected and catered to group in existence. Then they had to go and bite the hand that feeds them by constantly attacking the people that literally thought up, built and maintain everything they rely on. Which basically did nothing but cause men to check out. Now you have an entire generation of Dons in real life. They wanted equality, they got it and they already hate it despite still having safety blankets and security nets. If they got 100% true equality they'd have literal meltdowns.
I definitely don't think Don did anything wrong either, but I think Alice is overhated. Like you said, she's running on pure instinct ("protect the young") just like he is ("survive and get out"). Don's guilt towards his decision leads him to sneak into Alice's quarantine room because decisions like that result in emotional catastrophe (which in turn causes the second outbreak).
@@deadlvrs Yeah it's tragic no matter how you look at it. The amount of blame I see Don get is highly unwarranted though. Ppl just stuck in their own self indulged heroism fantasy.
Lmfao I love how people give the dad so much crap when they would have done the same in the situation. He killed some and lost his crowbar, then literally had her and was pulling her to safety, but she just had to say no and pull away to go for the random child that brought all the infected in the first place. What are you gonna do with no weapons? Fight dozens of raged out infected with your fists xD?
Actually men are more emotional than women scientifically speaking. It's just than men are more sensitive towards emotions like anger, instead of empathy as women.
Don was not a coward he told his wife don't let the kid In and he took a little longer to analyze the situation when she was trapped with the kid he had to leave them so that their own kids wouldn't become orphans
True, the woman on the right side of the screen was saying that Don couldn’t help his wife, but the one on the left was saying his true colors came out, like, "Girl, these people are fighting to survive, and they’re biting." Even in a life-or-death situation, most people wouldn’t resort to biting someone.
So they prefer him to go back for his wife and get infected they called him a coward like really you don't see the situation there is no time for saving someone only yourself in a situation like that i'm gone mo time to think just moving your not with me then your with the infected they talk like they would try to save a family in that situation.
The actor who plays the dad in this is also in a movie called Trainspotting with Ewan McGregor (Young Obi Won Kenobi). His acting skills are really good, totally different character!!!
you know, the two main kids get a lot of flak amongst fans of this film for causing all the problems, but let's not let the first kid off the hook either. banging and screaming on a door for that long? how the hell did you survive that long doing stuff like that? he brought all of the zombies there in the first place. all the kids in this franchise just...mess everything up lol
Probably because he's with adults prior and the other kids yes sneak out but ultimately find something they could make a cure or inoculation from. The dads the one that causes the destruction of everything
@koolme666 the first is still better but, 28 weeks later has a much bigger budget and a larger scale which makes it feel like a movie with a lot more at stake. The first movie was more thought out and passionate the second film was more entertaining and was much more intense.
Husband was smart, not a coward. When the police tells you to move this way and not look back, and you dis-obey them and get hurt, its your fault. First rule of protection is obedience.
@@SteveG-k8q She was suffering extreme PTSD -- any theory on her purposefully infecting him is merely a theory. It was the military's incompetence that caused the second outbreak.

The moral of this movie is KIDS = DOOM. They let the kid from the begining in and pretty much they all died except Don and Alice, then the stupid kids sneak through the quarentine borders to go to their old neighborhood and what happened because of them the military brings Alice to the city carrying the virus and later that casues the second outbreak. Also Its annoying people trash Don, COME ON he had one of those freaks really close about to kill him! What Alice thought he could do?? He was defenceless, no weapons at hand and the risk of infection is huge in this movies, there was nothing Don could do. i blame the mom in the begining for everyone dieing and her own infection for being stupid and helping the kid twice. and the dads just pathetic the whole movie
all women are. its why you cant allow them anywhere near any form of power or authority. its why the west is in a state of rot atm because they made the mistake of allowing women into those positions.

I really dislike woman with outdated morals, like these three. Don repeatedly made all of the right decisions, he fought a bunch of infected alone while the wife made all of the wrong decisions, and you still blame him? Expect him to die just for what? You're the cowards, not him.

That's why in war, you must have all male soldiers. Emotions are a liability
