I had a personal call-back to this movie. When they filmed the empty London scene, it was a huge deal. Central London is NEVER quiet so they were lucky to get the shots they needed at something crazy early in the morning. During the pandemic, I had to walk over that bridge to get to work (I was classed as an essential government worker) and I had the weirdest sense of fear and dejavu the first few times thanks to this movie as the area was absolutely barren, for the first time in many years. A young man actually used the opportunity to re-film that scene, knowing it would probably be their only shot - I'm sure it's somewhere on TH-cam. Bit of trivia for you. Glad you guys enjoyed the movie!
@@BrandydocMeriabuck I am not saying where he is but, there is a island called Holy Island of Lindisfarne in Northumberland, I think it is the same island in the trailer for 28 years later trailer
Having watched 28 days later for the first time in years this weekend I was reminded by how well done the beginning scene was with the empty London. Its changed so much over the last 20 years but the emptiness works. You can digitally remove people now but the fact it was done practically works so well. What I always think is when Jim is yelling hello you can picture the infected people in the buildings snarling at the voice or hiding in the ally ways. What creeps me out more is imagining what a swarm of infected running through the streets must feel like if you're in that situation.
Top film. Refreshing to see ladies of a different generation reacting to films. I've subscribed to your channel and look forward to many more of your reactions. Greetings from Great Britain.
Just found your page looking for “28 Days Later” reactions and I’m so happy. This is one of my favorite movies ever, I saw it multiple times in theaters when it came out, and apparently am lucky to have bought the DVD when it came out as well to rewatch at home. Big THANK YOU THANK YOU for doing what you do for various reasons: -your reaction and honesty (like Storm saying that she did watch parts of the movie a long time ago). -your interactions with each other during the movie. -your lengthy discussion afterwards (sincerely I love it, this is like language arts class for me where you read a book then discuss and break it down in class, but with movies). -that you are a family of women doing this/sharing this together and really talking about stuff not gimmicky or sexy……I say this specifically because I have seen some female reactors seem to use physicality, if you will, perhaps to get people to click and watch their videos or maybe they just feel really happy that way which is beautiful for them. Of course I’m just speculating, I don’t mean to offend or be judgmental, if they’re genuinely happy that way that’s beautiful and as it should be. I just have triggers/negative associations to that type of impression due to childhood trauma and the idea of anyone but especially females using sex/sexuality as a source of transaction; also I just had no real positive female role models as a young person…..THANK YOU FOR JUST BEING YOU!!!! -and it’s a silly nit-picky thing, “zombies or infected”, but because this movie means so much to me I am literally overjoyed that in your discussion at the end of the movie you all actually got that they were not zombies, rather living people infected with the rage virus, and how you observed attraction to light and sound and dormancy (I love the movie because I think it’s great, I had never seen anything like it before. I started therapy a few months after seeing it multiple times in theaters. When this movie came out, for whatever reason it is something that helped me start a healing process from aforementioned childhood trauma, I still rewatch it regularly and it’s fun now to watch others react to it). THANK YOU THANK YOU once again for all that you do,, please keep doing it; and for allowing my diarrhea of the mouth. Forgive me if I put my foot in my mouth. WISHING YOU ALL THE BEST OF LUCK AND CONTINUED SUCCESS WITH YOUR CHANNEL AND LONG DISTANCE HUGS AND HAVE A BEAUTIFUL DAY!!!!!!
Loved your reaction, and I must say I love how much you discuss the film afterwards. Some reaction channels just sign off as soon as the film ends and you don’t get to hear their thoughts. I really appreciate how in depth your analyses are
From imdb: If you have Hulu (or Disney Star in Canada), you might have noticed that Danny Boyle’s 28 Days Later is no longer available. Indeed, Disney lost the rights to the independently financed original film, with them now only owning the rights to the Searchlight-financed sequel, 28 Weeks Later. That’s why you can’t find it on streaming sites and why the Blu-ray Disc is out of print. Sony now owns the rights to the film, with it being part of the package they acquired when they bought the rights to finance the upcoming Danny Boyle/ Alex Garland sequel, 28 Years Later. So, presumably, Sony will be reissuing the film in the near future. (Incidentally, filming started just recently in the North East of England and there were call-ups for 'fast running athletic people' to sign up in the local press. They are soon to film in Cheddar Gorge in the south too).
Fun fact: the Researcher at the very start who tries to stop them from releasing the chimp was (I presume he still is) a comedian, regularly playing a range of characters opposite Steve Coogan as Coogan's decades-running alter ego, Alan Partridge (a send-up of tedious middle aged presenters). During the Christmas finale of 'Alan's' Abba-influenced TV chat show, Knowing Me Knowing You (cue Partridge followers shouting "Ah-Haaaaaa!" at me), that self same comedian gets punched unconscious by Alan with a Christmas turkey stuck on his arm after telling Alan live on air that, as the BBC Controller, he'd decided Alan wouldn't be given a second series. BAM! So, to see him in a serious role here, brief as it was, was strange...
If you guys are interested in checking out more Cillian Murphy movies I can't recommend 'The Wind that Shakes the Barely' enough. Possibly his best piece of acting.
My favorite parts of these reactions aren't the infected scenes but seeing everyone's reaction to Jim's rampage. Especially to the scene toward the end with the asshole soldier. Just brutal
I saw this multiple times in the movie theater multiple times from opening weekend until they pulled it from theaters, and every time I saw it, it was just me and less the ten people on the auditorium…..it was the best!
LOVE this movie! Just goes to show that even in an “zombie” apocalypse, they’re not the worse monsters. Humans are! Great reaction! Love your channel and all 3 of you! Sending love from England!
If y’all read, check out John Wyndham’s The Day Of The Triffids, (not the film,) it’s only about 280pgs, and this film pulls so much of it’s story directly from that book. The most obvious thing taken from the book is the waking up in the hospital after the event has happened-Same thing that happens in The Walking Dead, tho I dunno if Robert Kirkman took that from Day Of The Triffids or 28 Days Later. In a similar way to how George A. Romero & John A. Russo pulled from Richard Matheson’s I Am Legend and the first adaptation (and best) of I Am Legend, The Last Man On Earth (1964) starring Vincent Price. They’re zombies, you can call them zombies. If there is not literal voodoo magick involved in the origination of the film’s zombies/infected thenI don’t see the difference from one zombie to another. One of the few sticking points with me when it comes to this film is that the creators wanted to avoid being associated with the zombie genre because at the time it was still B-film horror that never garnered much via the box office. The other thing that annoys me is the intro to the film, as an animal rights person I am sooo taken out of the film when I see the activists unmasked and when they don’t seem to know what the lab their raiding is all about because the kinds of activists that rescue animals like that have usually done the research about what the facility is, what they do, how they do it, etc., and of course, they’d all be masked, (so if it’s a situation where the actors are like, “I need them to see my face for the reel,” then have a shot before hand where they’re putting their masks on.) Also, if a scientist is pleading with these activists, there’s no way they’d shot “they’re infected…with rage,” because that is incredibly stupid. They’d probably try to scientifically explain it or would just say, “it’s contagious, and it’s like rabies.” Right? Anyway, if y’all have not seen the sequel 28 Weeks Later (2007,) it is worth the watch. Also, if y’all have not read the book World War Z, not only do I highly recommend reading it, (it’s nothing like the film-Literally, at all,) I absolutely recommend reading the full-cast audiobook, (there’s probably as many big names in that audiobook’s cast as there are in 2023’s Oppenheimer.)
Thank you girls for the reactions. I love watching you girls react to all our favorite movies. Unfortunately the channel seems to have forgotten about the rest of us. It starting to be a rare instance that you girls react to movies. I get the appeal for tv shows but for the rest of your viewers, we have jobs and priorities that do not allow us time to sit and binge watch an entire series. I wish there were more reactions to our favorite movies than TV shows. I do appreciate you girls. I'd like to say thank you, you helped me get through my depression during covid by seeing you three appreciate all the same scenes in movies I did. Just a thought. 🙂❤ keep up the good work!
budget of the film - 8 million. with so little money today's hollywood is not able to film even the advertisement for the film! 😊profit - over 84 million. not bad at all, right?

The 3rd film in this series 28 Years Later is being filmed just along the road from me in North East England
Really? Where abouts are you, only roughly don't dox yourself mate haha

The only problem I have with this movie is the actress who plays Hannah. She just.... she just can not act to save her life.

Now, 28 Weeks Later (Jeremy Renner).
A very good sequel. 👍
Poor film
Who? That is not the protagonist

my #1 most favourite film of all time!
A great movie, one of my favorite horror films. Cillian Murphy makes his performance memorable with his intensivity
Fabulous movie. I'm glad people are recommending 28 Weeks Later, but you should also check out Train to Busan, if you haven't already seen it.
This was great reaction from all three of you 😊 28 days later is my favorite zombie movie ever!!!!!!!
In the script they describe the monkey attack as a speeding bullet which is why the activist had no time to even react
Thank you for such a wonderful review.
Please watch 28 weeks later. It's really good
LOVE this movie! Just goes to show that even in an “zombie” apocalypse, they’re not the worse monsters. Humans are!

Thanks for another chance to rewatch this classic alongside you!

Neat they're currently filming the third film 28 years later.
Ima get the middle one
I really enjoyed this reaction. 💜💜💜
Great movie but I feel so bad for the mom. She seems so sweet and innocent and to have her react to such disturbing scenes 😂
She's not be forced to watch against her will. She watches all sorts of stuff on this channel. They're just movies my guy.
@@TahiriVeila13ABY I know she’s not forced to watch. I just feel bad. I’m also not “your guy”.
There are two endings! A not so happier alternative..
Those racoons were not breaking the law!
You should also check out the sequel "28 weeks later" - 2007. it's also really good
Please watch 28 weeks later
