Thank you so much Ethan!! Would love to know if you end up getting the Emotiv Epoc and your thoughts on it?? And hell yes - more EEG devices here I come!!
Just watched your review on formula nootropic and it would be amazing to see the results from the brain waves while on it! Excellence reviews as always!
This is so incredibly cool! It's crazy to think how 10 years ago I was a participant in a lab study where they placed a ton of EEG electrodes on my scalp while they made me do a bunch of puzzles and brain games...now that technology is essentially available for me to use at home (with significantly less mess, haha). I also think I need to get me a bottle of Qualia....
Right??!? It's amazing to see how quickly the tech is changing. In the 1990s I never thought I would see at-home EEG devices on the market...and now we can even use programs to train our brains! Just imagine what's in store in the next five years! It's going to be WILD!!
Thank you so much! And yes - I totally agree! I feel like we're right on the cusp of some great technological advancements in the next few years regarding neurofeedback devices. I'm also hopeful that the prices will come down on some of these machines as they become more widely produced!
Hey!! Thank you so much for watching and leaving a comment. This was definitely some interesting tech and I can't wait to do more experiments with it. Just headed over to your channel and I'm blown away! Your videography is amazing. You got a sub from me :)
@@katie_moore woo! thanks, yeah maybe we can collab when all this stuff is over. I'm originally from SF (which is where I think your based?) Keep up the great work. I think you'll blow up soon.
@@wellnessdaddy I would LOVE that!! Yes! I'm based in the Bay Area...and you're down in San Diego? Hit me up on instagram and maybe we could even coordinate a collab sooner! Would love to connect!!
I can relate to the behaviour in this video so much. For example so many things I've done: tracking myself with mood journals, written journals, dream journals, schedules, goal lists, reading lists; supplementation of nootropics and fitness and testosterone with shilajit, gokshura, tribulis terrestris, creatine, beta-alanine, matcha, coffee, nicotine gum; diets like keto to enter into ketosis. And now I'm learning about neuroscience and the brain and started thinking about the EMOTIV. I met Tan Lee in San Fran once, and her I know her mum. They're both really cool. Tan Lee was probably the most inspirational person I have ever met in my life. There wasn't like a specific reason, I think I've never met anyone who did anything interesting before. I just finished Brain Energy, by Christopher M. Palmer and now I'm reading Behave by Robert Sapolsky. The brain is so interesting. I want to read about the neuroscience of religious experiences, how meditation affects the brain, and books on neurology next. I'm definitely going through a neuroscience phase at the moment.
HELL YES!! That's a great idea! TBH, I haven't had enough of a reason to pay for the Muse Monitor app, but you make a great point and so it might be time for me to suck it up and shell out $14.99 for the damn thing!!!
Good video. Have you seen a difference between qualia focus and qualia mind? I have been taking qualia mind 5 days on 2 days off for a little over a month, and don't see much change in focus or attention when I take it. I also don't really "feel" any smarter. Wondering, if you have taken both, what was the better experience?
I expected Qualia Mind to give me better results (mainly because it's more expensive...) but after going on and off Focus and Mind dozens of times over the past few years, I keep returning to Qualia Focus! It's simpler but I feel the effects more. Qualia Mind is a little more subtle in my experience.
@@katie_moore Any idea whether Qualia Focus changed its name to Qualia Mind Essentials? I see there is now a product called Qualia Focus, but it seems very different from Qualia Mind . . not a subset of Qualia Mind, more like a completely different formula and only 2 pills a day. Meanwhile there is now a product called Qualia Mind Essentials, which sounds a lot more like what TH-cam reviewers are calling "Qualia Focus" . . 5-7 pills a day. Curious if you know anything about this, thanks Katie!
I bought qualia focus thank you I have a brain injury and need help learning new things! Do you know if there is an easy way to customize the app to work with this brain wave sensor? I want a simple app that just plays different sounds depending on which brainwave State you are in but I'm not a programmer
Very happy to stumble onto your channel, Katie. I am currently undergoing neurofeedback for my ADHD. I have spent almost $5k and i'm only a third of the way through my treatment sessions. I know you aren't a doctor, but do you think this could either augment or replace adhd training? Any good sources for research?
Hey Perry, I hope your treatment is going well! That sounds intense. I don't believe that the Emotiv Epoc is the right device for what you're looking for. It's more of a hobbyists device. It doesn't have protocols curated for that sort of brain training. Let me know how your neurofeedback course goes. I'd be very interested to investigate how it works if you think it's efficacious.
Can we use this device to type or control certain things like Instagram or someother comands like swipe up on phone or swipe down BTW very good video so underrated channel
Hey, thanks for the video! Great info. I haven’t kept up with all your vids but would love to know what devices exist to read human emotion? Are there any rumours for Apple Watch etc doing that?
Hi Brad! Thank you so much for watching and leaving a great question. This is actually a stumper for me. As of right now, I don't know of any wearables that exist on the market today to read human emotion. I definitely have to look into that more. I found an article (a year old) that talks about a potential Amazon wearable using voice cues to detect a person's mood, but haven't been able to find anything more than that: www.theverge.com/circuitbreaker/2019/5/23/18636839/amazon-wearable-emotions-report I'm sure if Amazon does pull it off, the iWatch will be soon to follow. I have experimented with the Apollo Neuro device that puts you in the driver's seat to regulate your mood. Loved that. There's also another cool device called the Hapbee that does a similar thing, coming out later this year. I'll keep my ears to the ground for any developments on that front. Super interesting stuff! Only a matter of time :)
Katie Type A thanks for the info. I’m working on an idea that I hope can help people to see information on causes/charities etc that they are most likely to care About 😀💓
Katie Type A thanks. Not yet, but very soon I am going to be running a crowd funding campaign. So you will be sure to hear about it then. Ping me an email and I’ll add you to my pre campaign notification list 😀 brad@flicks4good.com.au
i love oxiracetam (sometimes I mix with aniracetam). I think i'll give that combo you suggested a try and see what my brain levels look like from that. Maybe it'll be better than qualia! I'll keep you posted! Thanks so much for watching!
I brought mines years ago. And the price didn’t drop! And that’s because of demand. Unfortunately people are not running to buy such tech products like a cellphone!
Muse 2 is horrible now. Was once my beloved, but their push towards monthly subscriptions and updates has completely wrecked it. Disconnects, crashes, and is extremely inconsistent now.
that's so sad! I haven't used mine in a while. I am very annoyed by expensive hardware products that force their customers into a subscription model. They should pick one!
Thanks for sharing this, very excited about the new Emotiv Epoc X. Looking forward to more of your content with other EEG devices.

Excellent Review

Have you bought it? I am planning to buy one.

tq for your amazing contet even some of it i dont understand

Me too!! How often do you use it?
Strongly recommend just building your own stack. It's a vastly up-priced version of generic chemicals

Thinking of getting epoc x soon god willing ❤️
I have been taking normotim for half a year. Can you tell me if it's harmful?
I've heard of it. an acquaintance takes it. he praises it. I don't know how long he's been on it.
Is this device just a brainwave detector or will be able to send wave to our brain?
