Yay, Best Buy is sponsoring you guys you deserve it Lisa from Mobile tech review!!! 🎉
Been following this channel for a while and ngl this has become one of my go tos for no nonsense review. Love and respect for how she handles her firm takes and is descriptive for all the right questions
You're my favorite reviewer, thank you for plain talk and ready to follow play by play
The Lisa-effect 🔥
That teardrop harks back to Samsung's venerable Series 9 laptops from ten years ago. They were great devices.
Love Lisa reviews!! Been watching her since I was a kid
10:14 wow really looked like Hank Azaria with that pulled comical face haha
No joke that SSD is not upgradable. Samsung, what the F are you doing?
I have no idea why I am steadily watching this when I can't afford it now
This will give you the motivation to improve your finances.
Give it 6mo and they will be 75% off
Because you’re a techie!
Because you were used to watching them since they were affordable, but now they have gone way beyond.
Aren't we all?
Don't mind me. Just dropping my like to support your channel.
hey lisa. your hair looks really nice! great review btw
I've had a Samsung snapdragon ARM laptop since 2020. Still daily drive it. Unlike this one, there are no vents under the bottom. I have AI on my phone I never use. In fact, my weekly report says I use my phone about an hour a day down from 2 hrs. If I could still buy another one like it for under $1000, I would, but the going price for it is $1100 today on eBay. That's how good it is. Plus, it has cell phone capabilities with a sim card.
Upgradeable storage is a basic requirement this side of the universe... some of us are using refurbished laptops that have been passed down through multiple previous users... and most people first remove their storage drives before selling off the laptop
Instead of removing them, secondhand refurbs will be wiped instead, so I don’t see any issue with Non-upgradable storage for personal use. Obviously for business and enterprise then it is essential to have removable storage.
That's what ports are for. Have you ever heard of them? And it has a microSD card slot. One of my laptops has a 2nd slot never opened it up. Guess I could, but I already dual booted it since it has a large HD already.
I managed to keep a laptop as my primary machine for 11 years thanks to upgradeable ram and storage, and it wasn't strictly new when I got it. Removable storage isn't just good for privacy, it's a key part of longevity.
@@ettcha Actually better if you know what you are doing. The newer tech I don't want. Especially a neuro genisys is skynet chip. The older the tech the easier to lock it down.
We just got new computers for our whole family. A few years ago, back in 2020.
But this makes me want to get another one, even though we have good computers already.
Thank you for another great review!
Does the webcam support Windows Hello?
Nope, Samsung doesn't seem to be a fan of that feature (perhaps because it's less secure than fingerprint).
Nice review as always. There is one point on the Samsung Galaxy Book4 Edge that I have seen reviewed on three other occasions and each reviewer noted that, '' under load" that pushes the fans to really rev up, that the reviewer could hear - in addition to the the load fan noise in general - a "whining or clicking fan sound as well. Curious if you noticed this observation as well.
No whining or clicking fans on our units. That would merit a mention if we'd heard that. Fans don't ramp up that much for more intensive work, at least not when compared to x86 laptops.
My 14 model does in fact has noticeable coilwhine
I like mixing it with your phone feature. Still too many app drivers not available to buy any Copilot+PC just yet.
Always with the killer shirts!😎 I can't see you though... the cloak is working just fine.
I am wondering if qualcom is going to release and x elite Ultra
just saw you on techlinked
Thank you for this video. I was actually up to buy this laptop, but I was looking for a video showing it inside towards a possible upgrade, but definitely having everything integrated in the motherboard is totally not going for me. Surprisingly Microsoft is doing it way better with their Surface in that regard. I'll take the Asus option instead, as I can get it cheaper with 32 Gb RAM and 1 Tb upgradable SSD even when it comes with the X Elite 78-100.
If they ever made a 360 version of this with S Pen support, might be really tempted.
I wait till more apps will be ARM native
Can’t wait for arm cpu and amd or nvidia gpu for some gaming
For high-end AI-ish laptops, would love to hear how well they run a local LLM.
Running local LLMs is making me upgrade my laptop.
How well will the new ARM Windows laptops compete with MacBooks?
That would be. Maybe an offline version of Google Notebook where you can chat with docs.
@@thetechboyorg Or *Ollama* or *Jan* or *LM Studio* or *Open WebUI* etc. Many ways to run local LLMs. Basically, it puts a _private_ (less powerful) ChatGPT on your desktop.
White collar professionals are experimenting with local LLMs, to learn how to leverage AI and avoid being left behind.
@sillystuff6247 Yeah. I have some of that on my 2019 PC and S24 Ultra. I wish there was more competition in the mobile space.
LLM's need high memory bandwidth so I doubt these would run them well.
@@pegasus912 S24 U maybe and on the laptop there 12 GB or RAM but new laptops should run them well
Finally, someone famous has the same hairstyle as mine
Hello,
yoga Slim 7X X Elite 32GB vs M2 Pro 16GB
Iam currently deciding which machine to get but aim kinda unsure. Iam a cs student and software developer and the machine should def be powerful enough for my workload.
7400K is very blue. That's gotta hurt the eyes especially at night.
Are we getting a Surface review too?
Surface Pro 11 review coming soon!
The only way I would buy an ARM laptop today would be NO WINDOWS OS, and that copiliot button be a dedicated bios menu button.
Irony is I haven’t seen any videos popup reviewing the linux experience. Dozens of Windows “copilot” reviews that play more as advertisement. Microsoft has a lot invested in this.
Exciting but tooooo early for me to jump in.
Please review the new Surface Laptop next!
Surface Pro 11 OLED review coming next week. Don't have the Snapdragon Surface Laptop yet.
@@mobiletechreview Can't wait, I've been excitedly waiting for your review on this one.
No Copilot + for me, but thanks for your videos in general. I do not install spyware on my computers, now that I know. I do still have an installation of Windows 10, and it will be my last Microsoft operating system. I have stripped out it's telemetry to the point it occasionally does not work right, but so be it.
I'm going to wait for your review of the AMD ryzen 5 Asus zenbook s16 which launches in a month and then probably buy that. At some point I will go with arm but not this generation.
I like your hair btw, its a cool look.
I want this in a 360 form factor please Samsung
With copilot key. No, thanks.
top
I will be fine with ChatGPT button 😂
i know im nitpicking but for a company that makes great displays on tvs and smartphones, that bottom bezel on the laptop doesnt really look samsung like
Ok info
My 4 year old laptop has excellent standby time, don't see how that's an added value for an ARM processor. This is an interesting development, but only 16Gb of non upgradable RAM and the too high price, is a pass for me.
woop woop
BOOK 4 ULTRA OR BOOK 4 EDGE IS MORE POWERFUL?
❤
Hey Lisa. I would be really interested in a snack down between the iPad pro m4 and the surface pro 11 especially since you're an artist. Good video on the galaxy edge video though as always
Wait Samsung got the highest end Snapdragon X Elite but no storage upgrade is possible :) Well then I guess I'll settle for the X1E-80-100. 200Mhz v Removable storage? I can't do it.
Soldered-on storage?!? --- HARD PASS !
You weren't gonna buy shite anyway...
@@MrMalam1234thank you😂😂😂
Hey, I'm thinking of swapping my m3 air with this.. wanna know its performance for flutter,
+vs code, android studio, inteliji
Why? M3 air is a very new nice computer.
at $800 it would be a decent purchase
$400 for a low power laptop, that is mosly incompatible with software/driver and cant be upgraded, cant even swap a broken SSD. Buying a real laptop and an Android tablet will save money and bring more performance
No tandem oled and pen support No go
Samsung the apple of windows
😂
So you’re saying Samsung makes high-quality laptops. OK.
😂😂😂
What is it with Samsung and gross bottom bezels... With the rounded corners it just looks awful.
Have you tested 64vbit Intel/AMD programs in emulation. The last version on Arm failed on these!
Waiting for the same
Samsung products do not last very long. Multiple devices I've owned from this brand have failed. I own a 12 year old Sony vaio that is working great! It's a keeper!
Been waiting for Lisa's reviews for the Copilot+ PC's to decide whether its time to give the MacBook M1s a chance since they're cheaper vs. The ARM Snapdragon for editing and based on the price-to-performance and battery life, ill probably go for the MacBook if the other Copilot laptops aren't blowing this out the water (plus minus the recall "spyware"). Seems like these are just fad prototype "NPU" laptops with AI plastered on it, which im already sick of.
Other than the "AI" portion of the M1 not being readily accessible, given the ecosystem, it's probably still the better deal. This hype train was off the rails a long way back.
PUT THIS CHIP IN MY PHONE !
Samsung Galaxy Book 4 Edge Folio S Z Flip Air Pro. These names are beyond stupid.
I do love Samsung phones but im not sold on there laptop's yet no upgradable ssd!? Thats a joke 🤦♂️
Copilot is a spy
So, basically this platform will slide into obscurity AGAIN, because M$ sucks in PR. Too bad, because ARM is awesome!
i have a hunch these AI PCs are not going to sell well
Why not? They will all be AI PCs soon… even the Macs. Apple Intelligence right around the corner.
An ‘AI’ laptop with ‘50 TOPS’ that doesn’t even have Windows Hello facial recognition? 🤣
Yeah! -But can it flush the toilets in the Vatican?
holy shit, samsung is copying apple.... a 500gb hard drive upgrade costs $300 !!!
She's a nice looking lappy alright...😘.
Half price and upgradable storage, till then nope
Excellent CPU from Qualcomm, highly power-efficient. ARM is definitely the way forward for Intel and AMD.👍🏼
Thanks for a good balanced review. I have seen Apple fanboy reviewers are b*tthurt and are nitpicking about gaming - which is LOL considering MacBook are sh*t in that task themselves.
Too bad itself running Spyware, Malware and Adware disguised as an operating system, called Windows. 😂
If it ran on some other operating system, say Linux, it would have been a good choice.
why only 16GB ram? It's not like the ram is on the CPU package. Whose idea was it to limit the RAM to 16GB for a 12 core CPU, making 12 core kind of pointless? And soldered SSD!!!! seriously!!!... KEEP away from this CRAP, unless you want to be called a FOOL.
2 hours more battery life is worth NOTHING
It is disappointing
I personally find the GB4 pro 16 more valuable. Upgradable SSD, no compatibility issues, and not much less battery life. That thing lasts for 8 hours of daily use and 10 to 12 hours of watching movies.
Edge has better cooling and better standby for sure, but thanks to Microsoft, its advantages are not that significant. Maybe a 3rd gen.
Bad graphics card, not good for gaming or serious work And too expensive for casual consumers
That sounds like an absolutely terrible deal. Can't believe that anyone would buy this.
Lol cope harder..
HARD PASS. Not being upgradeable is just stupid and not worth my money.
Pass. HARD pass. Nope, nope, nope.
If it's hard for you to pass maybe you want it. For me it's and easy pass i prefer mac
Why hard pass??
What wonderful insight
Windows is for masochists.
Please get rid of USB A port. We have to move on.
