The latency or speed of the RAM absolutely cannot make up for a lack of capacity. Saying this 16GB of "equivalent to say 24GB" is Apple level of misinformation and I'm very disappointed
Exactly!
This is some serious misinformation in the review.
And my day is ruined
It’s not always about the capacity but also how it’s used. You can beef it up all you want, but if software sucks, it’s worthless.
Yeah, I was perplexed by that claim. Kind of hard to take any of the rest of it seriously after that.
No upgrade whatsoever is major red flag. The reduction in RAM latency is nice but with CAMM around the corner, this advantage disappear.
Is it possible to use two external displays, either with thunderbolt dock or 1hdmi and 1 type-c inbuilt for two extending two external displays
curious did you notice any keys that were getting stuck/clicky when you pressed the keys at an angle? bugged about that on mine...
Thx for the review. Sorry if I missed it, but which power plan have you set these devices on, both on a/c and battery?
These are on High Performance mode plugged into the charger.
@@BenGKaiser Thnx. And what about during your battery life tests?
Did you turn on Dolby Atmos?
What where you settings during battery life tests for the 14? Kinda curious i have one myself🙃
Screen off probably. Other reviewers have 10-12 hours on light load tasks such as video playback.
Thanks for the review.
I'm a writer and a manager. Do you think I should go for the Edge or the intel based Pro 16?
Im not worried about the performance, but app compatibility such as VPNs or things like that!
I would appreciate it if you help me with this regard.
in terms of efficiency, compatibility and power, I would recommend an AMD model, a 7840 or 8840 Ryzen 7. Or one of their new Ryzen AI 370 or whatever its called lol. Intel Core ultra isnt bad either, but you just get more out of the AMD chips.
@@Burbanana thanks for your help.
Can you use the 2 usb c to charge the laptop and use display port 1.4?
Looks great
Can you make in depth comparison with book 4 ultra dolby atmos speakers , gaming , which is better to upgrade etc ?
How does the Samsung eUFS strorage performance compare with a fast NVMe SSD?
Ben could you compare battery life vs the book 4 pro intel versions respectively??
Hello,
yoga Slim 7X X Elite 32GB vs M2 Pro 16GB
Iam currently deciding which machine to get but aim kinda unsure. Iam a cs student and software developer and the machine should def be powerful enough for my workload.
Ty
Snapdragon X Elite ❤❤❤
I was highly tempted by the Book4 Edge 14's thinness and lightness, but I went with a base model Surface Pro with the Snapdragon X Plus instead. Samsung especially, but other manufacturers as well, need to get with the times regarding ram. 16gb base, 32gb as an option, unless the device is a glorified Chromebook.
Does any of these have 5g?
hey dude, to get the max performance from these chip, set the power plan to performance from control panel not from the settings, they both are actually different.
Can you test to see how it performs running FL Studio or Cubasea?
Are we able to use Linux on these?
I'd have picked up the 16 without second thought if it weren't for that numpad and offset keys
rule N.01 : never buy the first model .. although my hope for it to be able to bush it at least 200w power draw for mode performance .. but the plan looks like they will make as wait for high gains in the 4th generation ~
Lunar Lake will show why arm is Dead on arrival.
I can't wait to find out!
@@BenGKaiser it will overall best chip.
Overall matters the most.
nope
You think?🤔 Cuz im not sure about it
@@albertomartin70 yes. You will see. Wait until end of 2025 and then check market start of X86-64 vs ARM.
That is excuse. Lunar Lake has MoP with 32GB ram
So does the X Elite. The Asus 15 sold at Costco has 32GB and you can spec the Lenovo Yoga with 32GB on the Lenovo website. This is a choice Samsung made or they traded access to the X1E-84 with not taking the 32GB SoC from other vendors. Who knows, but 32GB is obviously better than 16GB. He should have just said, hey Apple is giving you 8GB on the base M3 MacBook Pro which is an outright insult. 😂
Just thinking how would 16gb worked on few open apps lets say after effects premiere lightrom and ps ... My old laptop got 64 and its not handling it
@@ruzaroos 😅
Agree, for a 12 core to be useful for serious work it needs a minimum of 32 GB. else there is no point in having 12 cores. Its like saying look 12 cores is as fast as intel and AMD can be used for development but also not because we will only give 16GB. It reduces the laptop to only browsing and office work use case, making it having 12 cores pointless. And the premium they are demanding irrational. seriously 16 GB ram hardly costs much, instead of giving minimum of 32 GB ram for this to limit it to 16GB and then charge a premium is a very APPLE like lame move.
Everything looks great with these laptops! I'm wondering how well they run Linux?...gonna grab the 14-inch and see how well it does with ZorinOS or ElementaryOS!...I may have just found the perfect MacBook for those who don't like MacBooks!...LOL!
As for "Recall"? No I don't now.....never have...nor ever WILL need something like THAT on my systems....EVER. They can keep it...
I don't know why your views are down but I think you should make a change in your videos, you are talented and I hope your videos get a lot of views.
I hate that Samsung uses a USB-C port to charge the laptop. Should use a normal power plug. Also hate ads on home screen. Not enough ports. If using a Hub, not all things plugged into it will work.
You hate USB C charging why?
Where are the AMD laptops in the comparison?
is the trackpad a pressure pad like mac ??
no. Only the Surface Laptop 7 has that.
It has backlit keyboard ??????????
Yes
It does
So many compatibility issues and no battery life advantage nor iGPU parity with current gen Intel and AMD. To top it, its been sold at a premium with mostly only 16GB RAM with no upgradability. Mediocre iGPU means forget gaming, limited ram means forget about development. So this for browsing and office work? why do you need the power of the CPU with 12 cores for that? and who would want to pay the premium for just browsing and office apps? I wont fault the chip for this, this is on the laptop manufacturers trying to emulate Apple by building nerfed laptops with limited rams that will have limited usability needing to replace the laptops later.
Is it 180° foldable ?????
No
Andrew Garfield becomes a tech blogger
Photoshop is ARM native already right?

How can they not include sd card reader... why Samsung?
I know right? They can giveaway TV but not a card reader.
@@jan3019 heh they started it with no micro SD in phones but its contagious... 😜
Since Windows on Arm is still half baked system for me. So I will be waiting for lunar lake chips.
Same
Rip x86 intel
X86 dead is near
@@khusbusVlog people are saying since 2020 Apple M1 that X86-64 will be dead in 2023.
We are in 2024 X86-64 has 90% market share in laptops.
After Lunar Lake in Q3 2024, X86-64 will gain more market share.
ARM will be dead for forever.
Amazing prices and even lower priced returns due to a lack of programs for the ARM technology. I'll wait for some programs to come out. Thanks for the great review.
@12.45 🤣😂😅
Samsung went apple with upgradeabilty. Gonna pass
No gaming 🥲
