      Bake it for 5 minutes in the oven in an enchilada. If it survives... Every man woman and child should get one!!!

      Deity mics with plug-in power (like vmic D3 pro) powered with a real phantom power (+48V)

    I'd say test was successful. Microphone works, so put it back on the shelf in the store. Nobody will know ;-)

    Been spending the weekend watching so many of your videos. I've known about the Deity brand for some time but never knew of the resource this channel is. I come from the camera department but doing more small size-productions where I sometimes gotta step in as sound. This is really, really inspiring!
    Thank you so much.

    This video adds to your credibility and I appreciate it. While I have actually had to replace an S-Mic 2 under warranty, I still recommend Deity mics because the customer service experience of that warranty replacement process is so good.

    •  ปีที่แล้ว

      Why did you have to replace it?

    Point proven, the microphone is virtually indestructible I would take that microphone, Andrew, it would help me out

    I am an owner of a diety s-mic 2, although I've never done anything to damage it like that, it is comforting to know it's likely going to survive most mishaps.

    The year is 2031. Andrew from Deity Microphones, running out of ideas, has started destroying competitors' microphones. The world is only big enough for one microphone brand, and this is his story

    I enjoy both types of content however I do have a question, what would you have in your kit to record a reality show about motorsports? Also what are some techniques you would to record dialogue with the background noise of a speedway pit lane? Keep up the great work!

    I've got a Q. How do you set up the s-mic 2 for an interview type shot in a low ceiling room (around 8' high) and with a/c blower humming in the ceiling. #mailbag

  • @alisaljic
    @alisaljic 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hm. Its obviously hard to kill. However, this is not a stress test, this is a punishment test. It can obviously withstand more physical damage than an average audio device, and it is really impressive. However, an actual stress test would not be about throwing the mic in the ice /grinder when it is off. Practical stress test would be to stress it gradually while its working, and see how long until it stops giving usable audio. Instead of freezing it in the block of ice, it would be way more informative if you actually plug it into a cable and put it in a freezer, like a meat locker, turn the temperature down, watch the temperature gauge and observe how the increasing cold gradually affects its performance. Same thing with increase in high temperature. Put the mic in front of a speaker and observe the changes in real time on the frequency spectrum, see how cold or heat affect the quality of sound. You could also stress it by switching the environment from cold to hot while its working to give it a sudden temperature "shock". And please don't put it in water, real test would be to sprinkle some water with a diffuser on it or put it in a sauna where the humidity is high, but submerging it in water is not a situation mics will usually encounter. Of course its not going to perform while the diaphragm is soaked in liquid.

    Can I use a phone recorder for the period of time when I can't afford an actual audio recorder? And how will it affect my audio quality?

    • @DeityMicrophones
      @DeityMicrophones  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      it depends more on the mic you're plugging into your phone. Most phones will record well enough.

    @1:44 there is a cut in camera angles and LOST TIME. In the first angle he is shaking the mic. In the next angle he is SUDDENLY not shaking the mic but rather just setting it down. Is this a brand new mic or was it the one that was being shaken? We don't know and we can't know. We DO KNOW this is a typical method to scam people. I am not saying we are being scammed, I am saying this is a typical method used to scam people, so I have ZERO confidence in this demonstration and stopped watching at this point.
