The only bad thing on this DiY episode is that we have to wait for the second part😔 I really like how the built in shelves turned out it isn't the typical farmhouse style you see when others renovate their home, which I really love because I can't stand that anymore (it seems more like boho style to me, but because it is so subtile it works really great with the rest of the room). Also painting the ceiling made the room look so much taller and the beams stand out in a beautiful way. All in all. Well done Dannie! :) I can't wait to see how the whole thing turns out in the end 😊
Now THIS is DIYing at its finest! She’s not making key rings out of dollar store pegs, not that there’s anything wrong with that LOL But this build takes real talent. STUNNING 🤩 Dani you are a Queen! 👑

Dani I love it! I think you should paint the "ceiling" inside the tall arches to make them more seamless and so you can see the beauty of that peak from every angle!

Exposed beams…..um….aren’t those just the upstairs floorboards? Doesn’t it get loud when someone is walking upstairs? I like the idea, but I don’t know if this is it honestly. But at least you love it, that’s what matters lol
I agree! Previous owners insulated it for a reason but it is their house to do as they wish. Partially finished basement vibe, not really finished farmhouse look.
Yes! And also about that mice poop.. Well mice can travel in that room since there are openings in those walls. I can see it as a temporary solution but not a finished idea. Very nice first impression but longterm, not thought trough.
Omg Danie, what do you mean hate it? I LOVE IT. The built in bookcase, that is not just a regular bookcase, it's an art piece and the ceiling, I love it, I am lost for words in describing how much I love it. I can't wait for part 2. This part was really really good, part two is going to be even better. Sending you a big hug, get some rest, get ready for your next DIY. ❤😜😋
This is your most amazing transformation ever and it's not even done! Love the built in bookcase, it looks kinda boho or Moroccan-inspired, but still works with the farmhouse theme! Love the exposed beam s as well, I'm aware others have quibbled that they're "floor joists" but who cares, what's the difference, it's a similar look and looks very unique and farmhouse/industrial,and goes great with your farmhouse theme!
My two favorite parts were Konbi playing in the sprinkler and Danie sticking her tongue out while gluing the corner shapes for the shelves😆...I do the same thing😉

ya. you could go into any modern house now and see the same beams under the ceiling. the kind of beams you are looking for are wider. if you like it thats whats important. but it is not some 110 year feature. Love your videos either way!
Love everything, but that split beam/ floor joist in in ceiling is giving me an eye twitch. I know that isn't your doing, but now that it's exposed are you going to fix it?
I loved how you incorporated the outlet into the bookshelf, that was a genius idea!!! Both the bookshelves and the exposed ceiling complements each other so well!!! Can't wait for part Two.
Wow I lOVE the ceiling!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And the way you and Jeff built in the book cases you are so amazingly talented. I have a drop ceiling in my family room in our downstairs. It makes me want to rip it out I would just see pvc pipes and wires as well. But after seeing your office part one it would be ok! I love that look. I can't wait to see how you finished it. I love watching your old video's!!!!!!!!!
Love it! However, I’m going to make a suggestion! Don’t you think the top shelf of the desk should be level with the top shelf of the bookshelves? You know more than I, so take this suggestion with a grain of salt!
I just did a full wall of built-in bookcases out of IKEA Billy bookcases too!! I used trim molding to cover the seams where the bookcases meet as well as along the top and bottom. But, now I wish I'd thought of using MDF! What a fantastic idea!!
So happy I found your channel. Your very beautiful inside and out which is hard to come by these days, funny and very entertaining, and awesomely creative. Amazing work girl!
Girl....that is so awesome and yes the feeling of a diy idea coming to life is so satisfying!! love love love!!! Also i love seeing your partner Jeff assisting you in your videos, that's great!!
You might just be the most impressive person I know. How do you have the energy to do so much work every week?! It's amazing. It looks so good. I love the cathedral tops. Love the beams. So good.
I really like your built ins with back walls painted black. But, for my taste, I would have used 1/2 rounded tops. You have done a really great job. Can't wait for part 2.
Bookcase looks ✨AMAZING✨! Love the ‘Harry Potter goes to Morocco’ vibe! (I mean, there could be important magic in Morocco, right? Or an old friend of Dumbledore’s, or something?🧙🏽♂️) Also loved that Jeff (Geoff?) just casually stood ON THE FLOOR and ripped the ceiling down. Tall men for the win!😁 My tall husband does things like the all the time, and I stand there with my (little) mouth open. Looking forward to the reveal!
This is amazing!! I've done a paint job in the same style as you did here with the bookcases (and I cut up the shelves to make them random heights and shapes) but I'm totally gonna do those arches on them as well! Maybe with the whole shelves including the toppers, our living room is already quite busy. And them I'm gonna put arches on everything! Coffee table! Work table! TV! Toilet!
I absolutely love seeing that background! And your massive, epic office reno is so promising! Thank God you're getting rid of the ceiling-light fan!! It does look amazing - the revealed ceiling and everything else!
Terrific room so far. Your helpers are great and all of you worked together super. Looks wonderful so far. Your make those bookcases unrecognizable and beautiful.
Loved loved it! A suggestion maybe .. paint the insides of the cabinet row with the arches black so that no matter which angle you look at the arches from its distinct and pops ?!
I want to see what you had planned. I know the most important part of builds is going with the flow and adapting to changes(mistakes) but I want you to have what you wanted in this build in terms of the desk section. I like it when your full vision is realized, like in the Harry potter cabinet!
I love the shelving and gothic arches (girl after my own gothic heart!) however, if I could change just oneeeeeee thing it would be that you paint the upper part inside the shelving where the arches are. I found when looking at it the arches were getting lost with the white paint so if it were black those arches would literally pop out and look so amazingggg. Other then that love love love!
I love it Just one suggestion that I would do...... make desk section top shelf be same height as all the rest for the viewer to think it's one long shelf Just my view
Desks and tables are usually a standard height for ergonomic reasons but she could easily lower the shelves in the bookcases to match the desktop height.
As someone with an old house, seeing how you leveled the bookcase first was really helpful! And your house has so much character already, it looks lovely
When I moved into my century home two years ago, I was not as into DIY as I am now and have been kicking myself ever since for selling my Billy bookcase for $25. I've come across so many useful DIYs I could have used it for! Ah, live and learn.
What would drive me crazy is at 27:39, the two joists run together but one stops 3/4 the way across the ceiling. I would have to age a board and butt it to the short one and take it all the way to the wall, possibly filling in the line where it butts so it looks like one continuous board. Looking at sistered boards that don't run the length together would always have me thinking of them scissoring apart lol...When we sold my moms 1920 house the basement store room had joists like that and that is how we "fixed" the fractured look of them. I am looking forward to seeing the finished design and how it is all pulled together.
Awesome Danie, you are so amazing with all of your DIY's and the transformation in part 1 is so beautiful, love those bookshelves, and the rustic ceiling is also amazing. I am so excited to see part 2 and what the space will look like all finished out. Thanks for sharing and see you soon, sending love and hugs, bye for now.

I love how fantabulous the built-in shelves turned out. I love how you think and design. Keep the creative flow going Danie!!! Can't wait to see part 2
Getting ready to sell our house and we have some work to do on it. Watching you always inspires me every Saturday morning! I know we will be taking some of your DIY’s to our new house. Been watching for over two years now (won your Colmena design Annie Sloan starter kit last year! Thank you!) and you’ve become a household name here :) Thanks for being you Danie!
What a fabulous result! This design totally just inspired an idea for something similar on a wall in my bathroom. I have been DIY blocked on it for more than a year now. Big thanks, Danie! 💜🖤
Hi Danie, I absolutely love this DIY ! I just have one suggestion for you. Why don't you paint the inside sides of the cabinets black like the back ? I think the junction between them and the back ruins a bit the illusion of the cathedral fronts, because it is really squared behind the roundness of the fronts. You could just leave the fronts and shelves white and I think. and it would be perfect. Hope you see what I mean and can't wait for part 2 !!
Love seeing you, Jeff and Jess making your vision come to fruition. I also appreciate how to roll with the bumps in your design. Everything looks perfect can’t wait for the finishing touches and reveal. Having said all that …Kenobi stole the show… sprinkler play… loved it🐶🥰🐾
If you do a Q&A, I'm curious how you personally get through creative slumps? I'm always inspired & excited when I see you post, but I can't just have your videos on 24/7 :P I know that people say 'change your environment', but I'm in a position that, due to my health, I cannot go far from my home-which is in a very rural area.
great job on the built ins. they look like they've always been there!! such a simple design but so much work!! cannot wait for the finished room reveal. God bless
I am not a fan of exposed beams in general, but I am sure you will make it look amazing. The built in bookcases look wonderful. What I would do for the desk, instead of facing the wall and only having a narrow space I would put in a long would piece, one end supported by the bookcase the other end on legs and have the desk chair face the beautiful French doors. This would also prevent the problem of sunlight hitting the monitor and making working on the computer difficult, plus it would give the optimal view of both the kitchen and out the window.
Congrats, so brave how you experiment and keep growing with every single project. This is one of many I admire. Thanks for sharing all of the process even the mistakes, because you save someone else from stepping in it. Loved the Kanobi cam

Awesone! I've been wanting to do some billy hack built ins in my living room area. Unfortunately, I don't have a Jeff. I have a David. This means, I will be doing alone and my level of DIY is nowhere near yours, so I have been putting off. Nice to live vicariously through you!
Wow the built in book case looks fantastic! I would not have painted the ceiling but that's a preference and it is your house so.... I do admit it looks good! You always have the greatest ideas, which is 97% of the job! Good work!
Love it. Billy book cases are the best. I put a library of them in my Dining room to extent the functionality of that room. Abd to get the piles of books off other places in my home.

Danie, I am so in awe of your talent and skills!
Love seeing you, Jeff and Jess making your vision come to fruition. I also appreciate how to roll with the bumps in your design. Everything looks perfect can’t wait for the finishing touches and reveal. Having said all that …Kenobi stole the show… sprinkler play… loved it🐶🥰🐾
So much creative space in your house! A She Shack, DIY studio, AND an office!?!
I love love LOVE those arches , beautiful .That good old Billy bookshelf got a awesome face lift .They don't look like plan ole book shelves now .
I loved the bookcase and exposed beams. I'm kinda happy there will be a delay, because end of school will take up allot of my free time.
I love that you and your husband work together. Such a wonderful couple.
Not married.
If you do a Q&A, I'm curious how you personally get through creative slumps? I'm always inspired & excited when I see you post, but I can't just have your videos on 24/7 :P I know that people say 'change your environment', but I'm in a position that, due to my health, I cannot go far from my home-which is in a very rural area.
great job on the built ins.
they look like they've
always been there!! such
a simple design but so
much work!! cannot wait
for the finished room reveal.
Love it...colors, shelves & beams. Part II is much anticipated. Kenobi frolicking in sprinkler.
Looks great! Love the Moroccan style bookcases. Can't wait to see Part 2.
Hi from Greece Love to watch your positive energy!!! And... dont ever change the color of your hair!!!!
So impressed with all you have done with your farmhouse! Looking forward to part two of the office Reno!! Loved Kenobi playing in the sprinkler 😊
Congrats, so brave how you experiment and keep growing with every single project. This is one of many I admire. Thanks for sharing all of the process even the mistakes, because you save someone else from stepping in it.
Loved the Kanobi cam
My 9-year-old has told that fan joke like 3 times already today 😂 I guess you could say she IS a fan. But seriously though, you're our favorite DIYer to watch together ❤️
Looks great, Danie. You are so very creative with amazing vision that you see through to the end. Can't wait for the next episode.
This looks AMAZING! I love the arches you created just perfect and the ceiling is to die for! FABULOUS ❤️
love . . . Love . . . LOVE it Danie!!! You are creating exactly what I've been envisioning for my sewing/craft studio space (ex-living room!)
Love it all including Kenobi in the sprinkler! This room is incredible so far.

I LOVE those shelves. Looking forward to part 2!
Also, it had been bothering me cause I felt like I recognized your house (cute, btw) and I finally realized that you moved to the town where I live! Can't wait till all our events start up again cause you will be such a perfect fit; there are so many amazing artists and creative people here, and so happy to welcome yet another amazing creator to the community.
