A video introducing the great Carlo Casartelli, Italian handmade gunmaker, showing his incredible bolt action in .375 H&H Mag., engraved by the Italian Master Engraver Mario Terzi.
Beautiful rifle Roger.and really impressed by all the special features. Id consider this rifle a safe queen, due to being too nice to shoot. You two do such a good job presenting your collection. Please keep them coming.
@@rogerrule8195 7 years ago you showcased Sako’s, which I believe are the finest bolt action production rifles made for the commoner. I like the Finnbear and the Forester, which I own several. I also believe the best guns are behind us now due to the lost craftsmanship of the 20th century. Even the bespoke European gunmakers have become nearly extinct as you have respectfully discussed. We are fortunate that you have the knowledge, energy and resources to share your niche collection in such a professional manner.
@@princepa123 The Sako rifles were very well made and quality guns. I have owned several. The only problem with their bolt actions was that they were not control-feed, like Mausers or Winchester Pre-64 M70s.
For the German claw-mount system, which is a system totally installed by hand, the company offers many different solutions to gunsmiths so that nearly any scope for any rifle can be installed with the correct amount of scope relief for the shooter. The claw mount bases have to be placed exactly to make this work. To accommodate this much diversity, the company has many different options of parts, rails for scope, rings for scope tubes, and different size rings to fit nearly every size of objective bells. It is usually these very specialized gunsmiths that have their catalog of parts and with rifle, scope, and shooter's eye relief known, they place the order of the parts and then assemble everything to make it work. Magnum Mauser actions, for instance, cannot accommodate most scope rings fit to the bridges because the bridges are too far apart for most scopes that do not have a long tube length. It is purely a custom-made proposition and that's why the specialized parts and the installation is usually expensive.

Very nice comment, you have no idea how much I appreciate hearing from intelligent viewers. Thank you.

Yet another great presentation. Could you discuss the logic behind the way the front scope ring is mounted on the front lens. Never seen this before.
