- Episode 29 Perugini & Visini and Zomansoni
A video of a high-end bolt action rifle by Perugini & Visini, The Professional, in .338 Win. Mag. as engraved with a marvelous European Red Stag by the Italian Master Zomansoni.
Excellent rifle. 🎉. Goes without saying. 🎉
Great rifle, thank you for your comment.
Beautiful rifle and a Beautiful Lady.
Thank you, I'll pass your compliment on to Heidi.
Thank you for another fascinating episode. The rifle looks businesslike and artistic at the same time. I have have the same model of Zeiss scope on my BSA in 7x57mm and the glass quality is superb.
Aloha Adam, and thank you for your comment. Over the years I noticed German makers of Mauser style rifles prefer Zeiss over the two popular Austrian models: Kahles and Sorovski; although my eyes cannot see any differences. Maybe if I were in the bush for hours and/or days, I would find a difference during early morning light or during the low light at dusk.
Thank you, Mr Rule. Perugini-Visini are an amazing ccompany and for a while even Purdey (under Vendome ownership) offered guns made by them! If you endorse a gunmaker, then of course, that gunmaker has the highest stamp of approval too! Speaking of Manrico Torcoli, I remember Christian Ducros, one of France's great independent gunmakers, saying some years ago that he did not like engraving on his guns, but that there was one exception that he would make, and that was for Torcoli. Also, sir, if you have any experience with Roland Baptiste's work, I would request your revview of him. Roland is a personal friend who did the engraving on the first new Rigby Rising Bite double rifle recently, and whose work has been sought by all British, Belgian and Austrian gunmakers. I am possibly also biased in his favor because besides our friendship, I was also the official translator of his book "Manuel de Gravure sur Armes." It is considered one of the finest textbooks of engraving after MArio Abbiatico and Remo Salvinelli's "Grand Incisioni su Armi del Oggi."
Thank you again, and apart from your TH-cam posts, I sincerely wish that you are featured on a major television channel that talks sporting guns. Your expertise is unmatched and the world deserves to learn more from you. Stay blessed always, sir!
Thank you very much for this very detailed comment. This group of videos I am doing now, 25 through 38, are specific to Italian engravers. Roland Baptiste would be outside of this theme, but I appreciate your input and will look into much of what you have stated. Thanks again.
One other point I should have mentioned, Manrico Torcoli is included in Episode 30, not yet released.
Very nice rifle. I would be afraid to pick it up due to the policy, “you break it, you buy it.” I’m glad to see there is a market for such bespoke firearms.
Thank you for your reply, I recognize your blog name and always enjoy your feedback.
👍🏻
Thank you.
