- This HSV Grange defies odds! It is a MASSIVE car at over 17 feet long and with it being a luxury vehicle with full interior.. it weights about 4200 pounds! That paired with a huge v8 and twin turbos making about 1900 horsepower, this thing flies down the 1/4 mile in just over 7 seconds.. WHAT. Kyle had the pleasure of hopping in this thing and SHREDDING the tires!

@D4RC N3T Yeah mate, practically cheating aye, those "skinny" rear tyres is what made all the difference when he ran 7.78@185mph weighing 4200 pounds, and whats worse those cheater Aussies actually had to remove those skinny rear tyres all together in order to put down 1900 Rear Wheel HP on the VK Race Engines Hub Dyno. Its alot easier that way thanks for sharing your wisdom with us. Better head back to class now wouldn't wanna get detention mate.
D4RC N3T ok quite down now, you might hurt yourself talking lies like that. Firstly, we use "skinny" tyres in the rear as mention, because it's cheaper, but also if it's for our burnout cars it's to keep the tyre inside the guards so it doesn't ruin the $50,000 paint job, because unlike most, our burnout cars are usually fully street running, fully functional show cars that happen to have 2000horse power and tip in on a pad to create clouds of smoke that put holes in Ozone layers. But yea, it's the skinny tyres alone that creates that much smoke and mayhem.

This is my local race track. His running opposite direction on the straight and at the top of that hill is a hard right, brakes alone at that speed wasn't going to stop this skid pig in time lol.
@D4RC N3T he was doing over 250 at the top of that hill and heading straight towards a hairpin turn so he did need the shoots to slow down .Now you have made yourself look like a fool again in another comment ,you might want to get off your jealous high horse and back down here to reality and except the fact that this is one fast badass car .

@anonymous Grange is a Hsv spec statesman. Some states in the US used the Holden Caprice as a cop car which was the top luxury Holden in its range

@@boost800its always expected to be pulled up when its taken out.. but actually never been hassled by the cops, I've had a bit of luck but more that they just turn a blind eye and appreciate it at the time.. attitudes of cops change if its during an event, carshow/wedding/summernats weekend ect... if you behave its all good.. it helps if you have the right attitude aswell..👍

Australians loved American muscle cars back in the 60s. We started building our own and went off in our own direction. At one point America stopped building rwd v8 muscle cars leaving only the v8 red Aussie falcons and Commodore. I like to think we repaid the inspiration of the awesome American muscle cars of the 60s by keeping the faith going.

Here in Saudi Arabia this car has A lot of fans, it’s a Chevrolet Caprice version from 2000 to 2006 and from 2007 to 2016 the last generation. but it “always” need some parts 😂💔
06 to 2013 was the ve then the vf went till the end of 2017

Just to explain it properly, These vehicles are a long wheel base version of GM's V platform. Yanks would recognise the standard wheelbase from their '04 -'05 Pontiac GTO. The Holden version came in 2 trim levels 8VY=Statesman (lower trim) 8VZ=Caprice (Higher trim level). The HSV Grange starts life as a Holden Statesman, recieving an exterior and interior trim upgrade from HSV. The 2004 'WK' has the LS1 with 4L60e while the 2005 Variant or 'WL' comes complete with LS2 engine, 4L65e and 3.46:1 rear axle. They are an awesome mix of Chevrolete driveline mixed with Opels electronics. The brakes are a let down, only using C6 style PBR calipers

Every model of commodore had a luxury model like this, but was never badged as a commodore. My mates dad had one which was an ealier model these cars hall ass and give you comfort.For what they whey in mass I was realy suprised.
