Yeah definitely. Not bad at all just takes a while if you want to do it right and have to make sure you are not gonna drive your care for while if you don’t have a spare filter. Thanks man. Hope all is well with you and the family.
Great video Burnsey - I so need to do this on my R/T. I found that using a can of compressed air helps get a lot of the little pieces out of the corners.
Thanks allot Scottie! I will be getting a can of that immediately. That would help just for the visible debris too even when it’s not time for the official cleaning. Great suggestion. Thanks and hope all is well.
Great video! I have a rem 1500 in which I installed a mopar cold air intake. Looking at your video tutorial on cleaning your I noticed your air filter was identical to mine mopar air filter colors and shape too. I been cleaning mines with the mopar cold air intake cleaner kit. But for some reason I can’t find it anymore on line anymore any where .They always say out of stock even on Amazon and I searched for it even on Genuine mopar parts website. Because with the kit they supply a cleaning solution you spray on before soaking in water like you did. But after all that when it dries you spray on a blue like oil on it. it’s to trap the dust. But you say your owner manual tells you to do clean the filter that way and your video was published in 2020 and I purchased my mopar cold air intake in 2016. I guess they must have discontinue it. And only recommend cleaning now the way you did. Great video again
Good how to video 👍most important thing on your vehicle also if you have an air compressor you can use an air chuck to really blow out all the water and debris out ..I do it to lotta customers cars works out well😎👍💯
Thanks allot man. That’s a great idea about the air compressor and getting debris out. I appreciate the tip!!! That’s really helpful! Thanks again. Hope all is well.
This is exactly what I needed!! Mine is dirty and needs a bath! Great format, you have a new subscription! That bay clean up also looked really good, what did you use?
Thank you sir! Glad the timing works out well too!! I looked in my owners manual and could not find the directions there. I looked at the openers manual online and did a search. Main reason I did the video. You take care too!!
Thanks! I had an aftermarket JBL CAI on my old 5.7 but my new 6.4 came with a mopar one already and I’m glad I didn’t just assume it was the same cleaning process. This is much easier bro
@@BurnseysRT Thank God I ran across this video! I purchased the K&N cleaner kit yesterday and wasn’t for sure which intake I had on my R/T so the guy at Auto Zone told me I had K&N after I made it home took it off and spray the cleaner I noticed it said Mopar luckily I just ran across this video as it’s still drying so now I know not to spray the oil on there. Thank you!
What brand is the the set up/ air cone? I have the k&n set up but the cone is WAY smaller and tight in the box. I have the recharge kit and spray but I’m interested in the cone your using
Hi. It’s actually a Mopar. I am pretty sure this is the one. www.amazon.com/Mopar-68256672AA-5-7L-6-4L-Filter/dp/B075LTCL5H/ref=asc_df_B075LTCL5H/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=344022366619&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=7488683230290290365&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9015346&hvtargid=pla-728856732666&psc=1&tag=&ref=&adgrpid=70731225593&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvadid=344022366619&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=7488683230290290365&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9015346&hvtargid=pla-728856732666
Thanks allot man. Appreciate it. When I did mine I knew I wasn’t going to drive it until the next day. So I did it mid after noon, shook out as much after as I could, let it sit for two hours then installed it. I knew I wasn’t driving till the next day so I let it complete it’s drying installed
I really didn’t feel too much difference but I cleaned it early. It wasn’t completely filthy. If you would wait until it got real nasty you’d probably regain 3-7 hp and 1-2 mpg.
Wow that was simple! I have been hesitant to clean mine. I though i had to buy a new one. I havent done anything to mine since i got the shaker... 2 years 🥺
Yeah it’s not bad at all. Just gotta time it well and do it when you don’t need to drive for a while. I did notice a bit more pep with it being clean. I would recommend it.
Right on. Straight to the point and no nonsense. Thank you for sharing.
Awesome. I am glad to hear you found value!! You are welcome. Thanks for the support and dropping a comment.
@@BurnseysRT Had to use my compressor because mine was absolutely caked with stuff but that was the only step I had to add 👌
Good stuff! Seems like a simple enough process - I think mine is ready for this

Fyi, they say to do it every 20,000 miles

Burnseys RT You’re welcome thanks for the video😎👍
Great video and one that I have been looking for for a long time!
Thanks allot man. I appreciate it. Glad you found it worthwhile. I hope all is well man.
Why You Didn’t oil it
The Mopar Filters you don’t oil but the K&N, AEM etc you do I believe. The Mopar must have enough filtration.
Nice video! I'm still debating on getting one of these or the hellcat intake airbox. Great information 👍
Thanks allot man. Appreciate it.
Just got my shaker today noticed you have one aswell so imma subscribe
Congrats Man! They are awesome. I have a Charger Scat Now but feel free to go through my last couple years of videos.

Thanks man. Glad you found it helpful. I just used a cheap degreaser cleaner. Think it was that Awesome brand or something
6:01 Great video. Going to wash my cold air intake on my 2016 JK. THANKS
Thanks. Appreciate it. Glad it was helpful.

Yeah absolutely!!!!
Good video. So you don't need to add any oil, like the K & N filters?
Thank man. Nope do not add oil. It’s an oil free filter

@@BurnseysRT Thanks. Love the videos. Keep them coming.
Realistically it probably gets soaked while driving or washing especially on the T/A
Thank you for the info.

Did you notice any difference better response throttle or better mpg?
I really didn’t feel too much difference but I cleaned it early. It wasn’t completely filthy. If you would wait until it got real nasty you’d probably regain 3-7 hp and 1-2 mpg.
I'm sorry I have to ask this but why can't the water go from the top ?
Just trying to keep any dirt off of the inside of the filter. If you submerge it you could get some dirt and debris on the inside
Thanks for the information 👍🏾
You got it man. I appreciate the support. I hope all is well with you!!
Good info Burnsey 👍

Wow, I haven't checked mine in a long time... ouch
I hear ya man. Not always something you think about. Especially when you are busy.
Lost the damn hose clamp during my wash. I took it to the car wash. Bastards.
Why didn’t u keep the hellcat intake instead
I plan on going to the stock air box with the hellcat lower half for the winter. I’ll keep it going on the spring to see if I want to keep it.
