Just got my boy a few weeks ago, he's turning 10 weeks old shortly :) the pups have so much energy - can't wait to see him grow up edit: my 10 week old is very energetic, he loves meeting new people and exploring outside, wants to bite everything lol. Only in the mornings, after our first walk, can I get him to cuddle up and sleep on my lap. Looking forward to getting him out and leash trained in the next few months and having him meet other doggos
Thank you for this video :) It's nice to get to know about the ups and downs of owning a Shiba. I always wanted one but in the end we got a standard poodle instead. I noticed that this breed is not the right fit for my life but I really love how you talked about it and it's always fun to see you and Aoki. Thanks for what you do! This helps others to find the right breed for them, which is so important / plays such a big role for being happy with your dog in the end :)
@@aokiandanais In the end how a dog "is" is more important than what they look like (and poodles are super cute too hehe) :D Couldn't be happier with our choice. We have a super sporty dog now (she loves hiking, running, being outside) and matches our livestyle perfectly :) Looking forward to your next video! :)
@@aokiandanais My Yoko is doing better on his walks since I got him a no-pull harness! We walk a mile-and-a-half everyday! He will be 7 months tomorrow!
Thanks for sharing your videos 😊 We have a 4 month old Shiba male and he is the cutest. He is our first pet so everything is new for us. I wanted to ask if your Shiba is ever left home alone for more than a couple hours? How does he do while being alone? We haven’t left our Shiba alone for more than an hour and he does great but not sure if we are doing right by always trying to have someone home with him.
Hey Susie! Congratulations on your new pup! That’s exciting! I highly encourage leaving your pup at incremental of 30min maybe? Since he is doing great home alone, slowly add more time as you go. Aoki is fine for up to 9h but that’s rare (when we both need to go to work and that I can’t bring him with me). We have to make sure to tire him out when we come back home. If we go out, we usually leave him for about 5h. Training your pup at staying alone is essentials if you don’t want him to develop separation anxiety. Additionally, do not greet or reward your pup when coming back home. That only reward them to be happy when you are back home+ you coming back. Hope that helps!
You taught me a lot on how and what to expect with Shibas. I am expecting a Shiba 2 weeks from now. How do you control the dog from eating plants in your room? I saw that you have a monsterra, is it toxic for dogs?
🫶🏽 Thank you!! I would highly suggest putting ALL your plants away from reach to avoid any incidents even if the plants are not toxic. This way you are more proactive and avoiding these kinds of incidents to happen

@@aokiandanais Hi there! I just sent an email ;)
U have a shikoku not a shiba lmao 😭
He is 100% NOT a Shikoku. He looks like one and a lot of people mistake him for one though.
