I'm thinking that attacking in football it's similar to basketball : you need to create situations where the defense must choose (ex : follow the striker when he drops in the midfleld) And I think 4-3-3 is the best system for that, who allows the most type of movements and switches
Sergio Busquets. The best CDM to ever play that position. If everyone analyzes him and pays attention. He has everything you want the CDM to excel at. Made that Barca team have the freedom in possession/attack and you could tell Barca needed him whenever he would miss a game.
I think that one of the biggest weaknesses of a 4-3-3 is the single striker. I think that the 4-4-2 offers advantages over the 4-3-3, especially when you modify it from straight 4-4-2 to diamond 4-4-2, and other modifications where you use one of your fullbacks to outnumber the other team.
@@eL-RaL. Well by allowing good numbers up the pitch and a manager can decide to play around with the formation in game and be unpredictable in how they set in build up and in attack basically.
@@eL-RaL that’s why the best teams in the past have used this formation and even if it has its drawbacks as most formations do. It’s still a good formation to use or switch to
My guess is it's personel-based on the characteristics and skills required in a given position as much or more than formation on the limits of 10 outfield players and what sort of player profile they have to perform a given role. 3 out and out strikers is going to dramatically increase quality of shots taken. Once you start with that logic then, 2 central defenders are essential along with a DM in front of them in the critical zone in front of the goal. This forces more attacks wider to slow down attacks. So you need Wing-backs. who in possession can push forwards. Bear in mind the centre-mids are usually the biggest/tallest while wing-backs usually need a combination of skills eg speed, crossing defending. That leaves 2 other midfielders in front of the DM and they can vary but probably need to be creative and good at transitions and overloads in attack and pressing. Imho it's more personnel based than formation based. A good eg of this is now goal-keepers need to be good on the ball to create an immediate extra player in defence to play out from the back. Likewise a striker ideally will now become more of a target man in a play out from the back vs a pressing system ie evolution of the profile requirement... as another option.
Lol now the deepest midfielder needs to be the most gifted on the ball cause if he is not the other team is going to have fun scoring goals. Must be able to beat the press Have good passing able Must be able to read the game so much that he can see the future. Jorgi and bustque have really shown how to play that role to the best.
Need players with pace and good pass with high lines play from the back we all know most team like to press that only give you advantage to attract the other team in fast counter specially having a defence that comfortable defending and attacking
I asked you in the comments of both inter vs barca and inter vs mancity to make video on went wrong for Barcelona against inter Milan in the second leg. And how it work for man city. Since they use the same cruyf formation
Pep "re-inverted" the pyramid from a standard 4-3-3, back to the original English 2-3-5 formation that was widely used for about 50 years during the 1880 - 1930 period. He did this even while coaching Bayern.
No, a 4-3-3. Or a know-it-nothing 1(keeper!!! you forgot thatone idiot!)-2-2-1-2-2-1 for people who like to discus anything to death and have nothing better to do with life

Really good summary of 4-3-3 :)

4-3-3 can be the most expansive, most versatile formation ever created imo. But filling the midfleld would take some time 😅
FMS producing back to back quality videos
need to figure out how to translate this to my tactic in fm23... 😂 great informational video as always

Excellent educational video. Thank you mate.
Thank you for this❤
I think that's the best formation ever in history no doubt about it
4-4-2 Diamond next pls

Nice one. My preferred formation...
The 433 really is a go to formation for most teams and very dangerous ❤

Sobre 4-3-3... Quero ver o ''novo Liverpool'' de Klopp.

It's a shame no one does video's about the 3-4-3 diamond anymore.
Rise of the free 8's?
Could you do a video on 09/10 Carlo Chelsea side
1:04 what about if they face a box midfield
You can cut off the supply by allowing the defencive two of the box midfield to have the ball. And simply mark the 8s by overloading with 3 mids
Or you can use the build up shape of Brighton 4-2-2-2(wide wingers)
I asked you in the comments of both inter vs barca and inter vs mancity to make video on went wrong for Barcelona against inter Milan in the second leg. And how it work for man city. Since they use the same cruyf formation

FMS school is helpful even for us digital gamers
Best formation is 4-2-2 and 3-5-2 for me
How to beat 433 or 4123?
Use the 3 - 2 - 4 - 1
Also because it makes the most out of rationalisim
What makes the 433 truly special is that no one actually plays it.
Pep "re-inverted" the pyramid from a standard 4-3-3, back to the original English 2-3-5 formation that was widely used for about 50 years during the 1880 - 1930 period. He did this even while coaching Bayern.
