    Just bought this model and trim yesterday in white.
    Wait time looking like 2-18 weeks. Southern Ontario. No dealers here within 150k have stock on anything higher than the essential. I checked 15+ dealers.

    • @BrantfordKia
      @BrantfordKia  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      2 to 18 weeks? That's quite the range. If it was 2 weeks away, they would be able to provide you with a VIN number of the unit that would be yours. If they don't have a VIN number, they don't have a car yet. Once you get a VIN number, the vehicle is scheduled for production, or in production, and it will have a timeline of how long it will take to get to you. Something two weeks out would have a VIN number and your dealer would be able to provide that to you. The Ultimate models ordered today in Canada were scheduled for a March or April build with delivery times scheduled in the weeks after that. I'm not sure about the Luxury model.

    why do the digital speedometers have to go so high? The speed range I can legally drive is compressed down to such a small area. We don't have any autobahns in Canada. I loved test driving the Tucson Luxury. I think hybrids are the way to go for urban SUVs. The electric power makes them peppy while still being fuel efficient. How much do we know about this turbo engine? How reliable is it? I liked the way the Auto on the A/C can control the fan speed. A nice improvement over my older model Sonata. This supports up to 3 remote key fobs? Is that correct. My old Sonata only supported max 2 key fobs, and I have 3 drivers.

    • @BrantfordKia
      @BrantfordKia  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Wow, lots of questions, I'll try to answer them all in one response. The speedometers go so high... because people want that... a study was done years ago, back when cars had speedometers that were limited to 90mph or 140 km/h and they found that people wanted to go higher... Cars back then with speedometers with higher maximum speeds were considered more valuable. (I think we've passed that stage, but nobody is willing to lead the change, it seems) I'm not concerned about the reliability of our current engines. Plenty of scientific studies show that Kia and Hyundai vehicles are very reliable. I'm not sure how many key fobs the cars support. I'll have to look into it.

If you work with your sales team, a good sales team will do everything that they can to update you. I would encourage your salesperson to be as honest as possible. I've heard horror stories in the industry of a salesperson over-promising delivery dates, and the reality is that the best sales teams are just honest. When they have an estimate, they'll share it with you, when they have more precise dates, they'll share that, and they won't assume that the process will be quicker. Everything in the entire industry is slower right now.

    How come some of the tucson hybrids are in different trims. Some have Luxury, Ultimate, etc and then in my area it's just SE, SEL, Limited. I've also noticed that the Luxury, Ultimate seem to have terrain modes (Snow, Sand and Mud) while SE, SEL, and limited only have (eco, sport, smart and snow). Am I missing any benefits if the car doesn't have sand and mud terrain mode?

So, yeah, you're missing something! :) We also tend to have slightly better equipped vehicles on average here.

    Do you know when the Luxury plug in hybrids will be shipped to Canada? I've seen "summer 2021" and "Fall 2021" but Hyundai Canada must have better info than that. I know that they are built in the Ulsan SK plant so the build quality should be better than Alabama. There are a few YT vids on the plug in from Europe so they are at least being manufactured now, although the euro Tucsons are still with the smaller body than the new NA style. Also they (plug in) are only being sold in 11 states in the US so Canada won't have too much competition for supply.

    • @BrantfordKia
      @BrantfordKia  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'll have to double check about availability. I have a product sheet listing various models and when we can expect to see them, but the Tucson PHEV isn't included. Secondly, I'm not sure quality differences exist between plants. Those plants are highly robotic, and the people working in each country are held to the same high standards. So the Country of manufacture may matter in things like availability (covid etc) but the quality differences are unlikely to be found simply because they're made in one factory over another.

    • @wicker1234
      @wicker1234 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BrantfordKia The Alabama Hyundai plant is a state of the art manufacturing facility, for sure (here is a look with the new Tucson cars coming off the line: th-cam.com/video/Qsnv9-BYeYI/w-d-xo.html). But, there is still a lot of non automated assembly involved. Really, just the spot welding and coating processes are robotic and the rest is manpower, albeit with a lot of ergonomic assists.

    • @BrantfordKia
      @BrantfordKia  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@wicker1234 Yeah, I guess what I'm saying is that the people in that plant are building world class cars, that are up to the standards of any plant, anywhere in the world. The location of the plant doesn't matter like it may have in the past. The culture of any plant in the network is to build excellent vehicles, and they do.

    • @BrantfordKia
      @BrantfordKia  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That's a tough question... I might... A lot of people LOVE the 360 Surround View cameras, but they aren't a "must have" for me. But if you have that feature, you can get the Blind View Monitor, and I like that. The fact that this comes in the hybrid, WITH the Panoramic roof, AND the higher end audio system... that would probably be a fit for me.

    I thought I posted this earlier but cannot find it now. Anyway I have been trying to figure out if the Canadian Hybrid Tucson and the Plug In Version have a digital volume adjuster or a mechanical volume adjuster. I see on your review that this Tucson has a mechanical volume control (it appears to be a wheel). Also, I went into the local Hyundai and checked out the ICE Tucson and it had a mechanical volume control (roller). Whenever I look at other American reviews they show a digital volume control which seems to be one of their biggest complaints. Can you tell me if the Canadian Tucson has the mechanical volume control?
