    No need to apologize for her accent. She did a great job and I understood what she communicated. Great job and practice will make perfect, so keep going!

      She did a great job!! I can't possibly imagine any Canadians or Americans who move to Korea Republic live there for about 15-20 years and speak Korean comfortably..... Keep on going, Cynthia!

      French is my native tongue and you would be surprised, or not, at how many one language speakers make fun of my accent. I had a co-worker re-draft an email in which I had asked a question. I walked myself to her office and asked her how many languages she spoke and wrote. She did not seem to understand just how rude it was. I complained to HR and she was made to apologize to me.

    Wow, Cynthia went from speaking few sentences in your videos, to a full on co-presenter. Well done. I think a lot of people don’t realize how difficult presenting can be; Keep up the good work.

      Yes and more difficult when English isn’t the first thing you think when you’re talking. We plan to do a few vids together but won’t be a regular thing as it’s too hard with the kids Maybe one day when we can get a sitter. Good to see you here and thanks for the comments!

    I actually like this format where the two vehicles are being compared side-by-side in real-time versus one after the other. The direct comparison during drive is great. We have a 2016 Sonata Hybrid, a 2018 Santa Fe Sport 2.0t and a 2017 Santa Fe Sport 2.0t Ultimate after years with Toyotas, Hondas and a BMW. For the money, the quality and value, Hyundai really can't be beat right now. Our daughter will be needing a car in a couple of years. I just turned the Sonata over to our son who recently got his license and will likely turn the Ultimate over to our daughter when the time comes and pick up a newer car for myself. Either of these could be an option for me, or the Sonata N-line (wow) or Kia Stinger (double wow, but more money). I feel like the Korean car manufacturers are what Toyota became in the 90s with their leapfrogging the industry in quality and value.

      So apparently the Tucson is more peppy, since it’s lighter and what not… but how is the Santa Fe? Obviously it won’t be as peppy, but it’s not a dud is it? It’s still pretty decent??

    • @redlinedrifts69
      @redlinedrifts69 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@Isaac-yi3dr I test drove both and the Santa Fe is slow and heavy, feels much more "boaty" vs the Tucson. Best thing to do is test drive them both for yourself and see which one you prefer!

    • @Isaac-yi3dr
      @Isaac-yi3dr 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@redlinedrifts69 inventory is pretty close to zero, the best I could do is test drive a Santa Fe SEL. I ended up ordering a Santa Fe hybrid cause I was attracted to the space and storage spaces all over, it was gonna be a really long wait, so I bailed and got the limited Tucson hybrid that was in the lot (surprisingly there was one)

    • @redlinedrifts69

      @@redlinedrifts69 so far it’s been nice! Mpgs are pretty much spot on to what they rate it at, the no buttons/touch sensitive controls are actually not bad to manage. Still kind of wish they got more creative with storage areas in the interior.. oh well, I do like how it drives

    Thanks for doing this comparison. Our family is in the market for a new SUV and while I would prefer a PHEV, a hybrid gives us more options. I've been trying to understand the difference between these two from Hyundai. 12" screen, 360 degree camera, $2K less. You saved us a test drive! Tucson is the clear choice in our house. Appreciated Cynthia's perspective. Would be great to have her spend some time driving in your future reviews to get her input.

    Below is a copy and paste from a Tucson PHEV forum...Tucson uses the same drivetrain and hybrid platform as the Santa Fe. Great tips for keeping your Santa Fe PHEV and/or Tucson PHEV in EV mode in the cold winter temps.
    "We got our Tucson PHEV Ultimate just before we had a cold snap (-10c/-15c). Yes in EV mode only the engine will stay on if the HVAC is on. So my wife warms up the cabin then turns off the HVAC. The engine immediately turns off. The heated seats and the heated steering wheel run off the battery so she always has that on.
    Now that the temps are warmer (L:3c / H:7c), the EV stays on most of the time. We found that turning the HVAC to low fan, setting the cabin temp to 19c, the engine stays off for the most part.
    At first we were initially disappointed that the HVAC had to run off the engine but now the vehicle stays on EV 90% of the time and we are very happy. After 570kms we are getting 3.3L/100kms and that continues to drop.
    This is really how hybrids work and we have owned a few in the past. The 2022 PHEV Tucson is by far the best hybrid we have had."

    Excellent review guys. Great to see reviews from people who are actually using the vehicles with their family, so they can touch on realistic ownership, rather than just torque and horsepower, etc. We just traded in my wife's car for the 2022 Hyundai Tucson Luxury AWD Hybrid, and she loves it! Although the ultimate has a few more bells and whistles, no wireless Apple car play due to the navigation. That was the clincher between the two upper tier hybrid models!

    I feel like this was one of the most honest reviews I've seen so far. Thank you. I'm curious about the back seat comfort for my child. In a carseat he won't benifit from the seat warmer so how is the air conditioning and heating otherwise? How is it controlled? Where does it come out for back seat riders? Are there any other comforts for the kids? I saw the Santa fe had the integrated window shades. What about the panaramic sunroof can the shade of this be controlled leaving it closed for a sleeping kid? I'm interested in phevs in this size so right now it seems a toss up between up comming santa fe phev and rav4 prime. Santa fe has lighter interior to not be so hot in the summer rav 4 wins slightly on fuel consumption. I presently drive a kia niro phev if this helps. I like the features but my kid has a lot of gear so he takes up like 2 seats and the trunk so looking for similar fearures with more storage space and awd. Will you ever compare santa fe and rave 4?

    Great review, especially because being an actual family it’s more like real life usage. Thank you. She did awesome

    In regards to steering wheels -- most of them seem to be 3 spoke. I think I'd prefer the 4 spoke in the Tucson because I like to put my hand in the 6 o'clock position when driving the highway, which is sorta tough to do with a 3 spoke.

      I would recommend breaking that habit in case of an emergency; you want your hands properly placed to steer the vehicle away from danger

    We're planning a long road trip this spring. What about comfort on a long trip. Which car is quieter on the road?

    Hi guys, thanks especially for your comments about Wireless Android Auto! My question, I'm wondering if you can save the battery charge for when you arrive, at your destination? Thank you.

      Hi Eric, no you can’t save any type of charge in either system. You’d find that option more on a Plug-in Hybrid PHEV.

    Loved hearing your wife's perspective! As a mom, i dont care about all the car jargon, I just want to know how it feels and drives for everyday mom-use.

    Great review Brian. Which of the two has better NVH ? Thanks

      They’re both very good in that department. Definitely better than my Highlander. I’d say the Tucson has slightly better NVH.

      @@EverydayReviews2022 Thanks. One thing for sure, they are both much better than the RAV4 hybrid in that department.

    Your Wife did great.. speaks very clearly!! Liked the back and forth comparison.. Both have same engine ..but with lighter weight the Tucson should have more pep!! BOTH need a HYBRID performance version.. 400HP+

      Hopefully Hyundai will make both of these hybrids with the N-spec version soon. Any reason why Kia doesn’t offer a similar N performance version of their vehicles?
