Last Thursday, I bought the LXS and it is a great van. This video is very helpful even though your LX+ is different than the LXS, but a many of the features are the same and is very helpful. Before buying this van, I test drove the 2021 Toyota Sienna and found the power lacking as there are a lot of hills and mountains near me and have to make sure the battery has sufficient charge for the drive. Overwise the Sienna would perform just as good as the old VW Eurovans that I used as patrol vehicles when I was an MP stationed in West Germany. Remember that when the battery is too low, all the Sienna has is a 4 banger. This past weekend I drove around the Eastside of the Seattle area and this van performed great.
People are really starting to discover just how good this van is. We expected good, but this is well beyond our expectations. Enjoy it!
@@BrantfordKia My only complaint is that if you take the center seat out, now you have no armrests on the inside of the two captain seats. You only have armrests on one side.
Here in Australia the LX model is $67,000.00 very over priced and that's just base price without any extras. I bought the base model very good cars and a tone of space. A little bit pricey but good buy over all.
Excellent, Excellent, Excellent Review!!!! This is the most in depth car review I have ever seen. It is too bad I do not live in Canada or I would definitely come and see you to purchase one. I have had mini vans before and they have served me well. The space and versatility outshines regular vehicles. This is the perfect vehicle to use to haul my daughters things back and forth from college. Thank you very much.

It really is a great value, I suspect this is the starting trim that most dealers would carry. I am interested in seeing the base model, though not to spoil it, but I really would like to hear your opinion when you film it about the lack of heated seats.
Yeah, that's an interesting one for me. It has rear parking sensors (and a rear back-up camera) which seems like overkill if you are going to leave off heated seats. I think sometimes the decisions are made to encourage people to step from one vehicle to the higher trim, but to me, if you spend $30,000 on a car in Canada, you should have front heated seats as standard equipment. Having said that, not everyone thinks like me, and I think that van will still be a really good value for a lot of people! I'm looking forward to seeing it.
@@BrantfordKiaYup. I got a 2023 base model as a cancellation b/c my dealer told us the wait was over a year for delivery, so we said put us on a cancellation list. We needed a van in a hurry so we said fine. Base model SHOULD have a leather wrapped steering wheel and heated seats and if offering wireless AA or Car play, a wireless charger. Keep the doors manual if they must for a lower level entry point. I love the van, but I think Kia missed the ball here and I'm a bit disappointed in some of those missing features.

The front grill as a Land cruiser prado look to it which is nice and in this colour the from the side view has an Exlporer vibe to it, well done Kia.. coming from a Sedona LX+ i would give up the electric park brake any day for power folding mirrors

I live in Gatineau.. where can I get a Carnival that is SRP? Every time I check online or in the marketplace, they sell for way more than the suggested retail price.. I dont mimd waiting as long as I get it on its SRP..

Looking at replacing a car with an LX with seat package, but the “market adjustment “ of $5,000 is making me wait until the chip shortage subsides.
We don't do "market adjustments" at our dealers. But I can completely understand why you would wait if that was the only way to buy!

Hey, I don't price them, I just tell you what these vehicles are all about. It's hard to fault their business plan though, they're selling far more than they can build and that's why there are wait times. It may not suit you or me as a customer, but it seems like a winning strategy for Kia as a company.

What would you recommend for seat covers on the cloth seats? I like this trim, and don’t want to step up to a trim with leatherette. But I also have kids who will make a mess, so seat covers will be a must.
That's an option. I plan to buy a seat cover for my rear seat on my Hyundai Santa Cruz which is a leather vehicle, but I'm only going to use it for vacations. My kids are a little older though, so they don't make a mess unless they're eating in the car.

HI, I've checked the Canada website and it is similar to the US website. One thing I don't understand and I'm hoping you can help with. The website says LX+ has "Lane Keep Assist" and "Lane Follow Assist" but it doesn't say that it has "Highway Drive Assist" and it doesn't say that it has "Advanced Smart Cruise Control". What does that mean? How will the cruise control actually work on the LX+? Can it keep you centered in the lane? The Lane Follow Assist feature says it will only work if you're using smart cruise control so how can it work on the LX+ if it doesn't have smart cruise control?
I think somewhere you're getting information that confuses you, so I'll try to answer simply in a TH-cam comment reply, which I'm hoping that you'll recognize, may not be enough to fully explain things. Let's start with the LX+ in Canada. That van has LANE KEEPING ASSIST which can help actively steer the vehicle back into the lane once it touches a lane marker and this only works above 60 kms per hour. It also has LANE FOLLOWING ASSIST which can actively keep the vehicle centred in the lane using various visual references including things like the lane markers in the road, but also other traffic in the road etc. It also works at speeds below 60 km/h. The Cruise control on the LX+ is just like regular cruise control, it holds the speed that you set it to. Advanced Smart Cruise control can do many things, but the most obvious difference is that it can adapt its speed to cars in front of you. Highway drive assist is not available on the LX+ but if you have that system, it uses the Lane Keeping Assist, Lane Follow Assist, and the Smart Cruise Control, but also can tie into information from the navigation system to help you do all of the things that those systems do with extra precision. That's not a complete answer, but I hope that helps a little bit!

When Smart Cruise Control (SCC) with Stop & Go is activated, Lane Following Assist (LFA) monitors lane markings to keep the Carnival centered in its lane."

I see based on some dealers’ websites, LX is 35mm shorter in height compared with EX trim. What makes the difference in height? I see ground clearance and headroom are the same for the two trims.
My guess would be roof rails vs. no roof rails.

Can you take the middle seat out and move the passanger one over to the middle seats place, so that you would have 2 full seats side by side in the 2nd row?
The middle seat does come out, but you can’t move the passenger seat over. The aisle would be in the middle between the two seats if you take the middle seat out. You can also take any of the middle row seats out, but if you took the left or right seat out, you’d be taking the larger seat out, and leaving a smaller middle seat in place. The outside seats are more comfortable.

Kia shows NO ex plus in their lineup. It goes EX...SX...and SX Prestige. Please show the window sticker because that would be a great choice.

Yeah, I appreciate when a dealer is honest. Some have made big promises that just can't be true. Keep in contact with your dealer, and they'll be able to update you along the way. In the early going, they likely won't have an update.
Greetings from Washington, DC! Due to different trim levels , US buyers can't get LCD cluster display with the 8-seating configuration. It's a real shame!
Washington DC is great, but it sounds like Canada has what you want! ;)
@@BrantfordKia It sounds that way to me, too-unfortunately I also want a warranty that works in the US, otherwise I would consider a road trip! (Seriously though, the flexibility of that 8 seat configuration seems to be much more useful than the captain seats, so I find the US lineup to be perplexing.)

Does Lx+ have remote start? Or you can add one?
At around the 5:03 mark (click that blue link, and it will take you there) of the video, I show the key fob, and you can see the remote start button on the black side of the key fob, just above the door buttons. So, yes, this vehicle does have remote start as standard.

@@zhongeric9832 I don't have an exact measurement, but they seem to reach a LOT further than they used to. If you're concerned about range, get a model with UVO Intelligence, and you can use your Cell Phone to start the car from just about anywhere in the world.
also does it have a cd player?
Nope.. CD players are in the bin with Cassette players and 8 track players now. You can connect bluetooth audio, you can play digital music files through a device in the USB port. There are a lot of options.
Does the LX+ have remote starter?
I believe it does. Everything with the push button start should have the remote starter.
No Fog Lights??
Not on this trim, but you will get them on some higher trims. To be honest, with these headlights, you may not find that you need them.
I got lx seat package and does anyone know if you can flip the 2nd row seats around to face the 3rd row
I tried. You can't. Not in Canada. In other world markets, you may be able to, but it looks like that isn't available in North America.
Does this vehicle have adjustable gas & brake pedals?
It does not, but the seats are very adjustable, I think you'll find that you can get comfortable. The steering wheel also has good range of movement up and down, and in and out. We've seen people of all sizes get comfortable in this van.

Wait... The LXS has power lift gates?? I was told it doesn't. Is this the LXS? According to Kia's website, you have to manually open and close trunk. Interesting!
We're based in Canada, so we don't have an LXS model. Some of our model names are a little different, and the features within some of the trims are different.

I'm not sure what you'd like to know, but the base sound system is one of the better systems in our lineup. The SX model has an upgraded system.

@@rustythelegend2225 Absolutely! The warranty is valid across North America. Any Kia dealer can work with you on a warranty claim.

Not on Canadian models. You can get screens as an accessory, but to be honest, most of our customers who want screens, find it more economical to buy an iPad, or even two. You can pair them to the Bluetooth, and even mount them to the headrests. So... that's an option.

Great question! It's under the middle row seats. There is a plastic cover inside the van that says "Spare Tire" and if you lift that plastic tab, you can use the tools that you would use to change the tire, to lower the tire. (Spin the tire iron inside the van, to lower the tire from underneath the van)
